So I got alittle bored with the standard metagame and decided to try something that I had avoided for so long... ubers! Then again, I didn't just want any standard team with 4-6 ubers. I wanted to build my team around something and a Drought team looked very attractive, so here goes...
Groudon @ Choice Band Trait: Drought EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd Jolly Nature (+Spd, -SAtk) - Body Slam - Earthquake - Hidden Power [Bug] - Rock Slide Blissey (F) @ Leftovers Trait: Natural Cure EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SDef Bold Nature (+Def, -Atk) - Aromatherapy - Seismic Toss - Softboiled - Toxic Exeggutor (M) @ Leftovers Trait: Chlorophyll EVs: 4 Def / 252 Spd / 252 SAtk Naive Nature (+Spd, -SDef) - Explosion - Hidden Power [Ice] - Sleep Powder - Solar Beam Ho-oh @ Leftovers Trait: Pressure EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SDef Sassy Nature (+SDef, -Spd) - Recover - Sacred Fire - Shadow Ball - Thunder Metagross @ Leftovers Trait: Clear Body EVs: 88 HP / 216 Atk / 16 Spd / 188 SAtk Quiet Nature (+SAtk, -Spd) - Explosion - Meteor Mash - Psychic - Thunderpunch Rayquaza @ Choice Band Trait: Air Lock EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd Jolly Nature (+Spd, -SAtk) - Earthquake - Extremespeed - Fire Blast - Hidden Power [Flying] I do realise that even a team with 1 uber is considered an uber team, so I am building this team with that in mind and I must be able to handle a team with even 6 ubers. Adding/removing any ubers is no problem at all, but doing away with the Drought theme is definitely out of the question. As this is my first time trying ubers, I'm abit inexperience at it and would appreciate any help! Thanks in advance! |

Thunder Wave is infinitely more valuable than Toxic on Blissey here IMO. Being able to paralyze Kyogre or a Lati is extremely helpful and will allow Metagross to Explode on more things later on. Exeggutor should probably go to a special attack boosting nature. You only will ever really need to hit around 200 speed to hit 400 in the sun. Invest the rest in some hit points.

Great Sage is right about replacing rayquaza. Remember, he has Air Lock which will nullify drought's power, not only making his fireblast unboosted (it would probably be better off with dragon claw for the STAB anyway)but it also kind of kills the drought team theme since he can't use the drought's power.Unless Rayquaza isn't affected by its own airlock making me sound like a complete idiot right now....hmm...

A Deoxys isn't a bad idea for the team. Deoxys-F will definitely enjoy the boost if you're using Fire Punch, which fucks up Metagross, who is pretty much #1 counter via Pursuit. Or in theory anyways.
I don't see any point in the special moves on Meta, as they'll do shit to most Ubers as they have randomly high special defense to where evne SE won't affect them. You're better off maxing like HP, which would allow you to survive random Earthquakes better and kaboom.

I think you should go with a slower and more defensive Groudon for three reasons:
- The slower you are, the more likely you are to trigger Drought after an opposing Drizzle. - You lack a Sleep Talker. - With Rayquaza and please Metagross too you've got plenty of Choice Band on your team. You need some sturdiness in there. |

Ok, so after reading all those replies I've decided to change my team alittle.
Groudon @ Choice Band Trait: Drought EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd Jolly Nature (+Spd, -SAtk) - Body Slam - Earthquake - Hidden Power [Bug] - Rock Slide Blissey (F) @ Leftovers Trait: Natural Cure EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SDef Bold Nature (+Def, -Atk) - Aromatherapy - Seismic Toss - Softboiled - Thunder Wave Exeggutor (M) @ Leftovers Trait: Chlorophyll EVs: 48 Atk / 208 Spd / 252 SAtk Rash Nature (+SAtk, -SDef) - Explosion - Hidden Power [Ice] - Sleep Powder - Solar Beam Ho-oh @ Leftovers Trait: Pressure EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SDef Sassy Nature (+SDef, -Spd) - Recover - Sacred Fire - Shadow Ball - Substitute Latias (F) @ Soul Dew Trait: Levitate EVs: 76 HP / 208 Spd / 132 SAtk / 92 SDef Calm Nature (+SDef, -Atk) - Calm Mind - Dragon Claw - Recover - Thunder Metagross @ Choice Band Trait: Clear Body EVs: 24 HP / 232 Atk / 16 Def / 100 Spd / 136 SDef Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk) - Earthquake - Explosion - Meteor Mash - Rock Slide Probably the more obvious changes here are making Metagross CB and swaping Rayquaza for Latias. I also changed the EVs for Exeggutor and movesets for Blissey and Ho-oh. Since now Rayquaza is gone, I could keep the CB Groudon? The Deoxys-F idea seemed cool too, though I can't think of which one to replaced it with... So how is it now? Last edited by PainKiller; Aug 3rd, 2007 at 9:43:30 PM. |

I still don't see the purpose of a Tank Ho-Oh. You might as well use Lugia dude.
