Star Wars: Battlefront

Discuss anything related to the Battlefront series here. For starters, what unit do you use most often? Conquest/No Force/Force allowed. I'd have to say Sniper/Vader/Anakin.

Snipers or standard troopers, like the CIS super droid or whatever its called. Also, my favorite hero has to be Han Solo. Seriously, best hero ever in the Battlefront series, superior to all the Jedi/Sith. He's a beast on Camino, and has an awesome quick-fire pistol.

I used to play Battlefront 2 alot. I never went online, but the campaign and the free mission mode was good enough for me. I typically played as either the Empire or the Clone Troopers, and used mostly standard troops. Favorite Hero character was Boba Fett.

I played as a Sniper and Engineer. I have gotten all my kills in one level as Head shots which is like 50 in one life. Kamino is the level. Engineer because he can plant the Det Packs and Ammo/Health units.

Bumping this topic up to say that a Star Wars Battlefront III is currently under development by Free Radical for the Xbox 360, but not yet officially announced.

The things I want to see most is less glitches(there are a ton of wallhacks), improved AI, and much less laggier online play.

Same here, I really like the clones in Battlefront 2, but in the first one, I like the rebels.

The Engineer's Shotgun can actually kill at almost the same range as the Clone Trooper, and he gets Health packs.

Sucks that there won't be ground to orbit transition. Dark Obi was an interesting idea as well. I really don't think Rebellion or Pandemic(unless they pull another SWBF1 somehow) could ever possibly make SWBFIII as good as FR could.

Boba Fett is by far GOD. Elite Rifle, close-range flamethrower, missiles, and the ability to throw detpacks(the most powerful explosives in the game)while jetpacking makes him simply brutal. If your playing without force, the Fett is simply murder.

The best force character though, definately, was Darth Vader. He was probably the hardest one to master, but once you did, he was unstoppable. He had the most powerful and third quickest strikes(next to Grievious and Aayla Secura)in the game, and he could force fly while using saber throw and choke.

My favorite standard class had to of been engineer, shotgun/health/ammo was just rape.

The best class by far was the standard class, as four or five headshots from the BR was enough to kill most units. The only thing that the standard could not do was kill Jedi's, which is when you brough your heavy troopers to lay mines to kill them

Aelia (i think that's how you spell her name) is the best Jedi on the hero side without a doubt. Force pull + the best short range attacks in the game made her good, and the decent dash combined with a good aerial made her great. On the villians, Count Douku was awesome for his good short range game, and because of the Force Choke + Force Lighting combo (for those who don't know what I am talking about, while your choking somebody, you can change to Force lighting by hitting white and holding down the trigger, and you can Lightening somebody while chocking them). He also had a great close range game, that you could use if you were running low on force power.

I use Ki-Adi to "counter" Fetts since his aerial attack OHKOs if it connects right. Choke Lightning is widely referred to as a glitch and banned on most PC servers and competition.

For normal battle scenarios, my favorites are the Clone Trooper and Magnaguard. Magnaguard tears up Heroes hardcore, Clone Trooper is just pretty much good at everything, especially once you get Elite Rifle upgrade. Favorite hero for these is Jango Fett without a doubt, imo he is much better than Boba because his shots are pretty much instant and have a longer range, Boba favors more mid range situations compared to Jango, and I'd rather have Han Solo in that case, or most Jedi.

My friends and I love to play the all-hero battle mode on Mos Eisley, two best heroes for that mode are Aayla Secura and Vader, for each team. Solo can only beat Jedi with proper support (usually from other Jedi), and the Fetts can't run away for very long. Aayla's force pull seems to have a much longer range than anyone else's, and her dash attack is much safer and covers more area than Heroes like Obi Wan/Mundi style chain attacks, and still deals more damage than Anakin/Emperor/Dooku style sweep attacks. Vader just deals ridiculous damage per hit, and has a good dash attack, so I abuse Choke->Dash attack for the most part.

Does anyone else like BF1 more than BF2? I feel like 1 has better maps (with the exception of Kamino), and Heroes just take away from the more indepth tactical aspects of BF1. BF2 Heroes can just run around the map putting out fires as they see them, in 1 you have to do things like trade bases in order to even something like that out.

Yeah, BF1 is definitely better than BF2. It requires more skill(barring Pilots, Heavies, and Jets versus other classes, but they're readily available for anyone to use and are balanced out by tanks) and smarter use of terrain while being faster paced. I still enjoy BF2's Hero Assault though.


Aayla's Force Pull has the same range as any other Force Pull character's; but that's still over twice the range of Push or Choke. At full stamina, you can also Pull twice in a row(called Double Pull), so the enemy can't jump away when being Pulled. This makes camping on narrow rooftops and using Force Pull a really broken strategy, as your approach options are limited. The only things you can do against a really persistent Pull camper are hover along the edge of the roof with Vader and try to Choke them, snipe them with a Fett, or avoid them.

Aayla's dash attack is also one of the best in the game. While it has better range than Obi Wan's, Obi Wan slides forward a bit farther when dash attacking and he also has the most manueverable dash attack in the game along with Anakin(their saber attacks are identical).

I use Sharpshooter and the Jetpack guy. The best Hero has to be Han Solo, definitely.
