"Man, I just can't shake the feeling there's something I was supposed to do..." Jonas sat in his basement lab along with his new Scratchet, Raptor. He was working on a new robot prototype for a friend of his.

"So he wants this by..." Jonas looked at the clock.

"WAIT. CRAP. I'M LATE." He dashes for his (rented) hoverbike, with his Scratchet seeing this as nothing more than a new game and leaping on his back. As he sailed through the air, he quickly brought out his Town Map.

"Now, where is this place again..."

Castelia Skies
In the most populous city in Unova, the skies in Castelia are ready for battle! There are various air currents blowing throught the city, creating mobility. Falls can be dangerous, the higher you are. (Fall from 1-25ft, 10 damage; 26-75ft, 20 damage; 75-100, half of full health) There are many builboards and building to fly around, and you can even land on them. The skies are cloudy, and rain will break out on the fourth round, so the combatants will be grounded. If any pokemon strikes the builboard, it will be treated as a thunderolt and will paralyse for sure. The wild pokemon consist of some very docile Pidove, Emolga, and Tranquill, as well as some less docile Unfezant.

Finally, Jonas had arrived. He was late, of course. HD and Albino had already arrived ahead of him, on time. They had already taken their positions on opposite roofs of buildings. Jonas smiled sheepishly as he landed.

"Sorry guys, you know how these things can be...well, what matters is that it's time to get this underway. Let's see who you guys brought to this party!"

“Looks like the trainers are about ready to start, and Engineer’s given the go-ahead,” said Jonas. “Raptor, could you use your athletic skills and pass these things over to the trainers?”

“Scra?”

“Yes, I know you can. It’s not very far of a jump anyway. Now get to it, the battle’s about to start.”

“Scratchet!”

As the Scratch Cat tentatively jumped from rooftop to rooftop, the two trainers release their Pokemon. HD tossed his Poke Ball into the air, where it burst open in a blast of light. A somewhat small, dragonfly Pokemon was viewable after the light subsided; a Yanma. This Yanma looked somehow different from other, more modern varieties of its kind. Its colors seemed to be duller, with an old-school appearance about it. It was greeted by a flash from Albinoloon’s Poke Ball, which revealed a cheery-looking small Pokemon which was purple and constantly attached to a parachute; a Breezi. The two caught each other’s eye, ready to duel.

The Yanma, Yggdrasil, began the fight by generating 3 copies of itself to mix up Ivaldii, the Breezi. The small creature was bewildered, but managed to deftly manipulate its parachute to create a powerful Gust of wind. Through pure luck, the gust manages to pierce the right Yanma, sending him reeling back.

Yggdrasil is angry now, both at being hurt and at its trickery failing. It lets off a Shadow Ball, in direct contrast with its namesake, straight at the parachute-wearing menace(?). Now it’s the Breezi’s turn to get angry. She gets so angry that it…does…something. It looks pretty offensive, though, and Yanma now looks properly Taunted into a rage!

The dragonfly is still incredibly angry that a tiny little Breezi would DARE to enrage him. However, he remembers his trainer’s orders, but it’s too distressed to focus a Hypnotism. While he keeps attempting to do so, Ivaldii whirls her tool around again, and smacks Yggdrasil into a nearby electric billboard! The Yanma is caught completely by surprise as the powerful electricity courses through its body, rendering him Fully Paralyzed! Somehow, he takes to the air once more, with his inner ability nulling a bit of the paralysis.

Very entertaining, thought Jonas to himself. “Alright guys, that’s enough for one round! Those small pads my Scratchet passed to you all are BoneTablets© that I fashioned for reffing! I’ll send the current status of the Pokemon to Engineer, then to you guys! The current states should be showing up on your screen now! They’ll update at the end of each round!”

OK, Ivaldii, we've got this! First, fire off a gust to hit it and propel yourself backwards, then, rest on a building and chill, lastly, fire off another gust! However, if it uses a reoccuring move in its actions, disable it!

The Scratchet, worn out from its acrobatic adventure, slumped on Jonas’ leg. “Sorry for making you do all of that, dude. You’ve earned a nice rest,” Jonas said as he returned Raptor to his Pokeball. As he did this, the two opposing trainers’ Pokemon took to the air once more. “Looks like things are about to start up again…”

Both Pokemon reach for the skies, having already received their trainer’s commands. The Breezi, having skillfully paralyzed the opposing Yanma last round, has the advantage of speed. She seems to go by the adage, ‘If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it’, and goes for another Gust of wind! Yggdrasil is knocked back, but barely fights off the paralysis and unleashes a Ball made from Shadows! (Seriously, how is a tiny dragonfly making these…)

Ivaldii then feels she needs a breather, so she simply Chills out for a short time. It was well-timed, too, as Yggdrasil succumbs to paralysis! The Yanma is steadily falling out of the sky!

The tiny parachutist sees her chance. She lets loose one more raging Gust in an attempt to force the bug against the ground. Unfortunately, Yggdrasil recovers the use of his limbs just in time to express his fury and unleash a Boom of Sonic power!

That was close, thought Jonas. If Yggdrasil had been fully paralyzed, this match would have been over. They’re still pretty close to the street th – “Ow! Stop that, Leslie.” The Zweilous grinned cheekily. "I'm not going to let you stay out if you keep cutting up like that."

“Alright guys, you know the drill. HD, you give your orders first. The status is updating on the BoneTablets© now!”

“Well, it looks like it’s about to begin again. Let’s see what they have packed.” Said Jonas. While the Pokemon were receiving orders, he had passed Boneoculars© to everyone so they could see the action just above the busy streets below. Both heads of the Zweilous had seemed to have their own opinion of the battle. Jonas gave a wry smile at their argument over the outcome, then turned back to the duel.

Ivaldii goes with what seems to work, so she lets off yet another Gust of wind, made by the manipulation of her parachute like usual. This pushes Yggdrasil to the ground; however, the fall is now low enough to prevent any damage. Barely fighting off his admittedly minor paralysis, Yggdrasil converts all that negative energy from being grounded into a Ball of Shadows!

The Breezi decides to get crafty. She uses her mystical powers to copy the move, sending a Shadowy Ball right back at Yggdrasil! The Yanma taps into his Hidden Power in response, letting loose an apparently icy mass of energy. As Ivaldii is knocked back, it seems that tapping into one’s inner self helped the bug, as his paralysis is now gone!

Though weak, the Yanma lets off one last, desperate wave of sound upon its parachuted foe. Ivaldii weathers it, and lets loose one last Gust of wind! The Yanma staggers back a few steps, then rolled over; it had been knocked out.

Jonas straightened up, returned Leslie to her Ultra Ball, and congratulated the trainers. “Good game, everybody. Just head to the bottom floor, return your Pokemon to their Poke Balls, and our business is done here.” Jonas hopped on his hoverbike once more, waving goodbye at the trainers.

Well, not too bad for a first reffing. Oya, prizes.
