You slowly procede through the damp tunnel down the depths of the mountain, illuminating your path with enchanted torches you acquired in the New Dawn fortress. Sometimes you hear ominous noises echoing through the stale air, but you think they probably are caused by bats or similar creatures. The ground is coursed by light quakes every now and then, but nothing which makes you worry about. As you make your way down, your torches illuminate a fascinating limestone cave, similar to an ancestral sculpture which lies buried into the earth for ages. A Zubat flies above your head, making you wonder how there could be life even in a place like this.
As you walk carefully between the white stalagmites, the cavern slowly widens in a particularly large vault, with some stalactites scattered on the ceiling. You are unsure whether to going on or not - maybe the cause of the seismic waves Lance was looking for is not even here. All you can see around you are rocks, barren floors with few damp spots here and there. After a while, you decide to come back, but all of a sudden, a horrible shriek echoes through the cavern! You look around frantically, then, as you turn your eyes above your heads, the figure of a menacing winged creature comes out of the shadows! You ready your Poké Balls, in the face of the new threat.

I'm just going to guess that I send out my Pokemon and their instructions now. Out you come, Ao and Jorm!
Ao, you can start off with a Rain Dance after Tyranitar makes a nuisance of Sand Storm to boost our attacks. At the same time, Gyarados can cast Reflect to block the power of moves again us and Tyranitar. Then, both of you can just go into attack mode: Jorm, you use Aqua Tail until the end of the round, and Ao, you can just go with Stone Edge until the end of the round. EDIT: Now that I think about it, they are both holding Enigma Berries if they need items, which I believe they do even if the test run didn't have them. EDIT: "Gyarados can cast Reflect to block the power of moves again us and Tyranitar" means us (Ao and Jorm) and Tyranitar.

Thrym, don't activate Sand Stream if you can, then Stone Edge and Iron Head.
Nidhogg, enable Contrarian and use Leaf Storm and Giga Drain.

The prehistoric bird immediately dives on Jormungandr and bites into him with electrified teeth. Nidhogg tries to push back the foe with a verdant storm, but Aerodactyl dodges it with incredible swiftness. Severely wounded, the Gyarados backs off a little and creates a transparent barrier in order to shield most of the raid team from further physical abuse. Thrym rampages angrily and mashes the fossil foe with sharpened appendages, while Ao watches around perplexed, wondering how he can summon a rainstorm in a place like this.
Aerodactyl immediately turns on the tyrant Pokémon and attacks him with the same technique, but the Reflect protects Tyranitar effectively. While Nidhogg saps some life to restores the scratches dealt by the raging sand, Jormungandr attempts to whip the enemy with his tail, but he misses the target. The Rock-type mates proves to be more accurate, as Tyranitar rams into Aerodactyl with his thick head, and Ao assaults him in a similar way to his team mate, but with much more power behind. While Aerodactyl leaps over Tyranitar and whips him with his hardened tail, Nidhogg gazes the prehistoric bird coldly, leaving him paralyzed. Jormungandr attempts to take advantage of this, and ravages the opponent with sharpened appendages for massive damage. Thrym reacts to the constant but insufficient offense ramming in the foe with his head another time. At the same time, Ao starts spinning on himself and smashes the enemy recklessly.
Nidhogg further cripples the foe with venom, while Jormungandr opts for less subtle ways and slams the fossil flyer with his mighty tail. Thrym instead bites viciously in his wings, leaving deep wounds on them. Aerodactyl backs off and starts shining, but Ao does not give him relief, and rolls once again on him with violence. The subsequent dive of Aerodactyl over Tyranitar doesn't quite measure up. Nidhogg summons a massive verdant storm to blast his opponent, while also rising his special prowess in a twisted way. Jormungandr keeps pounding the foe with his heavy tail, and Thyrm rams into him with his rocky head. But suddendly Aerodactyl emits a horrible shriek, which leaves the entire squad dazed and frightened. Carracosta shrugs off the feeling and keeps spinning on his enemy.
Nidhogg, Jormungandr and Thrym however are not as lucid, and find themselves unable to act. The prehistoric bird doesn't wait a moment, and summons a massive earthquake all over the place. Carracosta, Tyranitar and Serperior are slightly battered, but the quake causes a rock to fall on Aerodactyl, too. The fossil turtle doesn't care much and continues to roll over his foe. Ao, you're doing brilliantly. Just keep at it: Rollout => Rollout
Jormungandr, you can start off with a Taunt to stop him letting off those Earthquake and make him attack you, and then you can just keep up the attacks with another Aqua Tail.

Nidhogg squeezes the opponent with a leaven twister, while Thrym bites him viciously. Jormungandr sticks around, unaware of what he's supposed to do. Aerodactyl retaliates on the Tyranitar with a close rock attack, but Thrym withstands the hurt relatively well. Meanwhile, Ao keeps rolling like crazy, delivering a devastating hit on the prehistoric bird.
Nidhogg keeps with the same strategy, while Thrym this time around resorts to his ancestral powers to assault the foe - Jormungandr stays idle for some reason. Aerodactyl causes once more a massive quake, hurting the Serperior, the Carracosta and the Tyranitar slightly. Also, a rock falls on Ao, but that barely scratches his shell. Speaking of the devil, the fossil turtle is now a nigh unstoppable steamroller who smashes with impressive might on the enemy. Aerodactyl seems to have definitely turned his attention on him now. Ao, you are a beast! You just keep on rollin': Rollout => Rollout
Jormungandr, you just renew Reflect (Ao, Jormungandr, Thrym) and then hit it with another Aqua Tail.

While Nidhogg keeps twisting the foe with leaves, Thrym bites him once again. Jormungandr sticks around, idle. Aerodactyl, now visibly hurt, emits another one of his annoying screeches, but Ao doesn't care and keeps rolling over him with devastating force. However, now Aerodactyl seems to have gotten over the effects of paralysis, and is as nimble as ever.
And indeed, while Serperior and Tyranitar keep pounding at him, the prehistoric bird starts glowing menacingly. Gyarados watches helplessly, while the Carracosta delivers a hit of unheard force. Aerodactly answers back with an impressive dive, but he's not quite as effective. Well Ao, I think your actions are obvious: Rollout => Rollout. Let's finish this.
Jormungandr, you just help as much as you can , even if you haven''t actually done anything yet. I''m not sure why you can''t attack, but just go with Avalanche => Aqua Tail for now. But seriously, why hasn''t Gyara let off an attack for about 3 rounds?

While Jormungandr keeps staring idle at the battle going, Aerodactyl shrieks again, dazing the team further. Nidhogg limits himself to whip the foe with a thick vine, while Thrym bites him again with ferocity. Ao is nigh unstoppable now, and deals massive damage to the opponent with his steamrolling attack.
The prehistoric bird reacts smashing him with sharpened rocks, but the Carracosta's shell is too solid for him to be actually hurt. Nidhogg summons another gust of leaves, while Thrym resorts to his primal forces to launch rocks to the enemy. Ao delivers one more painful slam, but then he falls to the ground and faints, exhausted. However, Aerodactyl looks seriously injured too. Aerodactyl now turns his attention on Thrym, and dives on him trying to pierce through his defenses, but to no avail. Nidhogg keeps twisting the prehistoric bird with leaves, but now even the mighty Gyarados join the assault with... bubbles. Still, the fossil flyer seems injured by the "attack", much like Tyranitar's revenge, which bit him back - literally, in the end.
Infuriated, Aerodactyl whips Thrym with his dampened tail, but that doesn't stop the Serperior from bringing him on the verge of fainting - and Jormungandr from sealing the deal with a last bubbling ditch effort which overcomes the opponent's last forces and bring him down! As the prehistoric bird finally falls to the soil, a particularly intense quake courses through the ground, making you almost lose equilibrium. Then, a part of the walls collapse, showing a passage behind! You start walking through it - it's very narrow, compared to the one which you got through from the surface. However it does not last for long. After some minutes, you reach another open vault. What initially catches your attention is a tiny river, flowing roughly in the middle of the cavern. You can't see where does the water end, as it falls in a dark and deep pit. But, looking towards the sense opposed to the stream, you note a relatively little waterfall. You get close to study it more in detail, then you note there is a cavern behind.
While squeezing the wet clothes, you give a look around. Much to your surprise, this short tunnel ends with stairs. You wonder who could have shaped stairs in the depths of the earth, but nevertheless you go on. The stairs bring you to what seems to be a sort of ancient temple, shaped into basaltic rock. Majestic columns connect the structure with the ceiling, while some ruins are scattered around. You get close to one of these. It is almost completely black, even under the light of the torches. Strange symbols cover its surface, but you ignore what they may mean. Near them, you notice an odd bas-relief. Human-like figures surround a strange creature, as if they were venerating it like a divinity. You try to look around for more of these artifacts, but you're suddendly interrupted by a mighty roar. You immediately turns towards the entrance of the temple. Periodic quakes shake the soil, as if they were heavy steps... and they are, indeed! Out of the darkness comes a terrifying beast, looking at you with an angered gaze. ![]() HP 800 Atk 6 Def 5 SpA 4 SpD 5 Spe 70 Ability: Unnerve |

Anyway, good to have everyone fighting fit for the next battle. Also nice to see that we don't have a sandstorm at the moment. Only trouble is that NOT ONE OF YOU TWO HAS A DECENT FIGHTING TYPE MOVE WTFBBQ. Anyway, we''ll just continue this like we did against Aerodactyl: Ao: Hydro Pump => Shell Smash Jormungandr: Reflect => Aqua Tail
