Round 1: Trying To Catch Me Fiiiiiiightin’ Dirty

And the trainers send out their pokemon! Incubus blinks creepily, Shinxe is cute, and Winston and Sleast are being uncool.

Glowy light emanates blindingly from their bodies, as they evolve from stoned eggs and a blue slug into a giant stoned walking coconut tree and a bigger, earthier blue slug, respectively. Incubus fires off the first attack, revealing one of its many Hidden Powers, this time a Dark one, and blasting rings of the stuff at Sleast. Winston tests out his new, improved power-blasty skills with an Energy Ball at Sleast, who lets out a pained wail, but Ice Beams back anyway. Shinxe lays down some hurt of her own with a Bite at Incubus.

Incubus follows up with a Hidden Power Ground on Shinxe, sending one poor adorable critter flying through the air. Winston fires off an Energy Ball at Sleast, who doesn’t seem to like it much either, shrieking in squishy pain and flailing around. Shinxe recovers and turns her malicious jaws to Winston in a Fire Fang, chomping down with teeth imbued with the strength of a thousand Charmander-steaks, as Sleast shakes off the damage and aims a Hidden Power Fire at his aggressor vengefully.

Incubus once again lets fly with another Hidden Power Ground at Shinxe, knocking her off a particularly delicious sentient coconut, to her annoyance. Sorry for posting out of turn, but since when does evolving a Pokemon at the beginning of a match take up an action? My other battles I'm participating in have evolutions at the beginning of the battle & they don't take up an action. Darkamber, your battle with Deck also had a first turn evolution & it didn't take up an action. Fix this immediately. Also, my Gastrodon is East Sea, not West Sea btw...

Oh, let me make it clear since DA seems a bit confused. If it's just starting the match, you can expend 20% energy and evolve without an action. However, if the match is about midway through and you want to evolve your Pokemon, then it takes an action. Sorry for that confusion!

Scenario 1: Random’s Strategy Works

Its_A_Random fails to block Sleep Powder and Hidden Power Ice, because he’s just too slow. It sucks to be human. Shinxe Thunder Waves Winston, Robolem sleeps.

Its_A_Random is then mauled by a Hidden Power Grass from Incubus, which creates a watermelon-sized hole in his chest.

Eh…no.

Scenario 2: Random’s Strategy Doesn’t Work

Its_A_Random trips on a dandelion and is KO’d. Incubus lets out a Hidden Power Grass, sending the Golett flying backwards straight into a Sleep Powder from Winston, sending it off to a deep sleep, as Its_A_Random cries tears of grief. Shinxe, happy not to be on the receiving end of all these attacks, launches a Thunder Wave at Winston, freezing it in place with paralysis.

Incubus conjures more power from deep inside and fires a Hidden Power Grass at the sleeping Robolem, but Shinxe counterattacks with a ferocious Bite at him. As Robolem snoozes on, Winston just stands there, fully paralyzed.

Incubus Hidden Power Ices Robolem again, and is sent flying by Shinxe’s Spark. Robolem wakes up and creates a ghostly Substitute (25), but his opponents’ target appears to have changed, Winston Power Swaps with Shinxe, which swaps their offensive stat changes! Sucks for Shinxe...if it ever feels like firing some Thunderbolts around.

Round 3: An Army Of Automatons

Incubus, ever original, blasts the soft clay statue with a Hidden Power Ice, decapitating it and sending chunks of the stuff every which way. Robolem Double Teams, creating 4 more identical decoys. Winston tries to fire another Energy Ball, but is fully paralyzed! Oof. Shinxe, happy not to eat an Energy Ball, Fire Fangs the temporarily stunned opponent.

Incubus blasts the nearest Robolem with a Hidden Power Grass. Is it the real one? Nope, the clone dissipates into nothingness before Incubus’s frustrated eye. Shinxe, ever sneaky, Bites him from behind. Robolem, the real one, appears behind Winston and Shadow Punches him, but when Winston whirls, there’s nothing there…except his shadow. Vexed, he Energy Balls another clone, which disappears with a farting noise, improving his mood immensely.

Incubus fires another Hidden Power Ice hits a clone, the drill, you’ve learned it. Shinxe Fire Fangs Winston, clamping down on him and blasting flames at him. Robolem Shadow Punches Winston, KOing it! Shinxe Fire Fangs his opponent gleefully.
