Your first shiny pokemon (except Gyarados in GSC)

I was looking for dragonair in fire red at the safari zone. I found one before and it fled even though I threw bait at it. The next dragonair I found was shiny and it didn't flee because I threw bait at it like 20 times and I eventually caught it. it took like 2 hours to even find dragonairs and they're only a 1% chance in the safari zone with a super rod. It was lvl 34 :p

The first shiny I saw was a Shiny Golduck (in either Gold or Silver, can't remember), but I couldn't catch it because the box was full. The first non-Gyarados shiny I caught was a shiny Tangela in Gold, and I caught a Shiny Tentacool in Sapphire.

My first shiny has to be the stupidest looking shiny ever, a Rattata in silver. The thing never left my box.

my first shiny pokemon was a wild milotic (o-0) but it was in emerald battle pike (T^T) the next was a shiny mighteyena, by the city with the contests (emerald) but it used roar. Finally, I found a green wingull and evolved it into pelliper, but I have since traded it for a shiny clefable. THEN, I randomly ran into a shiny tentacool, which I never get around to using/evolving. Continuing to gen. 4, I caught shiny gyarados, traded an extra kyogre for a shiny groudon, then REWIND new game in emerald, I bred wobbufet to get a shiny destiny bonding gardevoir. Continuing, I traded a (caught as wild hg ss safari zone) manectric for a shiny golduck, then traded that for a shiny umbreon. My friend traded me a shiny infernape and I traded that for a modest shiny porygon-Z, which is obsolete like umbreon without curse or bp, etc. because of its ability. But I do still have the shiny event dogs/cats for a grand total of 10.

Then I found 2 more later, in 5th gen and DS Gold. Don't remember what, I think the one in Gold was a Kriketune, and the 5th Gen might have been a water type, or something else?

No cheats either.

It was my Cyndaquil. First time playing through Silver, I had no idea Cindaquil didn't have purple fire so when I saw my friends normal one I thought his was the special one.

my first shiny was a shiny golbat on gold. my luck wasn't on my side that day as I 1) had about 3 pokeballs total and 2) was inside that stupid cave on the way to mahogany town while I was searching for the dojo master, never hated myself more since I KNEW it was a shiny and it would have been my most useful shiny pokemon still to date (porygon-z(X2) and staraptor coming in close second). And yet I have no shiny pokemon from gen 3 or 5, though I did come close a few times.

First shiny: Graveler in a playthrough of Diamond, 2009. Exploded, go figure.
Second: Tentacruel north of Sunyshore in Diamond (2010). Was EVing a mon when it showed up - ironically, I had just mentioned not a half hour earlier that shinies were no big deal. Bold, perfect Def but otherwise fairly meh IVs. Lost it when I overwrote my Diamond cart.
Third: Shiny Mareep in a Nuzlocke of HG (2011). Sumbitch wasn't the first encounter - I couldn't even get a legit Mareep from that route. Sadface.

Caught it on a Gameboy Pocket, and thought the sparkle was a glitch...but I caught it anyways...then saved, and was afraid to turn my gameboy off.

This is going to make me look ooooooollldd, but kinda the same thing.

My kid caught a shiny Seviper in Ruby version. This was before I was serious about competitive battling. I thought he had some sort of glitch, but it ended up as fine.

As far as my first shiny...It was a wild Geodude in Pearl version. Oddly enough, no cheating devices or RNG involved, I caught a shiny wild Buizel on the same Pearl cart and same save file within 48 hours of my wild shiny Geodude capture.

My first shiny was back in sapphire days; was getting in that area where you meet the BOX PC creator for hoenn and I found a shiny swablu just that I ran away from the encounter lol. My second encounter was in pearl at victory road found a shiny graveler and dang I was like praying it wouldn't use explosion/selfdistruct on itself.

1st: chained a shiny Beldum in Diamond. In the sandstorm. that took a while. Quickly evolved it into my shiny Metagross.

2nd: caught a shiny Unown in the Tanoby Ruins on Seven Island in FireRed (while in my AP Government class). I was trying to catch all the letters of Unown. I periodically looked around to make sure my teacher wasn't coming my way. I looked down at my game and saw a blue Unown as opposed to the regular one. Instantly caught it.

3rd: caught a shiny Venemoth in the Kanto Safari Zone in FireRed. I caught it on the first try.

4th: Accidentally killed a shiny Whismur on Ruby.

5th: Caught a shiny Gloom (now Shiny Vileplume) in the Hoenn Safari Zone in Sapphire.

(not counting the Red Gyarados from HG).

Found a Shiny Weedle on Viridian Forest, Leaf Green, with 55 minutes of gameplay.

My second shiny was a Tangela on Silver, but it ran from me before I was able to catch it.

Third: Shiny Medicham on Victory Road, Diamond.

Fourth: Graveler, Iron Island, on Platinum. Was EVing my Skarmory when boom, it appeared.

Fifth: Shiny Fearow, Mt. Ember exterior, Leaf Green. But I wasnt able to catch it - my GBA turned off during the battle.

Oh man, it was a while back, but back when Diamond/Pearl were still popular I was at the Great Marsh in my Diamond and randomly ran into a shiny Wooper. Before the "shiny sparkle" appeared though, I freaked out and thought my game was glitched. I almost shut it off. xD

The first Shiny I caught on my own game was an Oddish.

Shiny Tyrogue in Crystal: the daycare couple gives you an egg that is twice as likely to be a shiny and could be a smoochum, tyrogue, elekid, magby, pichu, igglybuff or cleffa. I evolved it into a Hitmonlee.

Been playing since Red, only legit shiny was a shiny Cranidos I hatched while breeding loads of them.

My first shiny not traded for (bar G/S/C Gyarados), I had to chain in platinum (I could never get lucky with shininess :c) for and it was a Shiny Baltoy which I soon after traded for a Shiny Ttar.

after that I chained two more later then RNG'd a few shinies in D/P/Pt.

Now I RNG all my shinies with good IVs too.


Sadly, I still have never seen a random shiny.

Not even the egg from the D-Care in Crystal...

My only unchained random shiny caught was Rapidash outside of Mt. Silver. A few months ago I ran into a shiny Koffing in HG/SS at the Safari Zone but it fled after 2 PokeBalls :(

Anyway, I did a lot of chaining in Diamond and Platinum, and breed shinies in all of my 4th and 5th gen games via RNG. Still, a random encounter would be special.

never seen a shiny before. i traded for a shiny quagsire once on the gts, but then i noticed it was caught in the safari zone. . . with an ultra ball :,(
