My first shiny was a Pidgey in Gold. I called it "SPARKLE" because I didn't really know what a shiny Pokemon was when I was 5.

For me, it was a shiny Regigigas at Snowpoint Temple. My first random encounter was Tangela in Firered while EV training.

My original first was a shiny Aron I believe. If not it was the Zubat, I can't remember what came first for whatever reason.

My absolute first was a Rattata on LeafGreen. I had just given up RNGing for a shiny Charmander and the first thing I encountered in the grass was a Shiny Rattata. Needless to say I hadn't gotten any Pokeballs yet so I couldn't catch it. My first shiny that I actually caught was a Ponyta. And after that multiple shinies ensued, such as Magikarp, Meditite, Basculin, and Lilligant's pre evolution whose name I can't remember. However, all of my Chaining and Masuda Method attempts always fail, even after 10+ boxes.

My first shiny that I ever got was a Surskit in Pokémon XD: Gale of Darkness. Although that I didn't see it until I caught it in a Poké Ball. I also did see that it had yellow letters, meaning shiny. Non-shiny have white. Too bad it has a Quirky nature. Now its a Masquerian. My first encounter shiny was a Pidgey, I didn't caught it, because I didn't had any Poké Balls. It was my Silver, before the game couldn't save anymore.

i randomly ran into a shiny roselia in the great marsh in my diamond -.-
but when i got platinum i randomly ran into a shiny CRESSELIA and i caught it ^^ BOTH LEGITLY

otherwise i caught both shiny dialga and giratina with the rng method and hatched several shiny eggs too

I have no idea how, but I've never encountered a shiny before. I've played hundreds of hours in GSC, thousands in DPP, and thousands more in BW, but not once have I seen a shiny that wasn't owned by another person or traded to me

I caught a shiny farfetch'd just five minutes after catching the red gyarados in gold.
I also caught a roselia in platinum in the grass just south of the mansion one of the times I went down to the far south from bordom of fighting the rich couple next to the mansion.

The first Krabby I saw in the Whirl Islands was a shiny. Although I noticed the sparkly animation, I didn't realize that it was a shiny, and I also didn't know at that point that shiny (or "alternate-color," as I called it then) pokemon were ridiculously rare. As a result, I didn't try particularly hard to catch it, and the Krabby fainted. That was the last shiny I saw until Pokemon Diamond. Learning about it later made me really want to kick myself.

My first shiny Pokémon was a Mareep in Gold. <3 After that I found a shiny Ratatta and a shiny Heracross on the same Gold save file. I was able to catch them all and they are still alive on my Pokémon Gold. :)

Got a shiny Digglet in HGSS, was sleepy and I couldn't believe it was a shiny at first.

I also got a shiny slowpoke.. which was pretty awesome.
