Larion HP: 88 Energy: 76 Other: Burned, Mummy Four Actions Killstreak: 0 Yamask HP: 8 Energy: 25 Other: Failing at life Killstreak: 1 Round Six: Barely Surviving (BS) Seeing that his time is nearing (again), Yamask braces himself, readying his mind with thoughts of his last death and how to do as much damage as ghostly possible during his last few moments of battle. As such, his unbreakable will makes it impossible for him to go down while he's so determined. Larion notices this, an simply tests the waters by waddling/running forwards and clamping down with his jaws upon the ghost. While the attack would otherwise be too disgusting to endure, the burn prevented Larion from chomping down as hard as he could due to the pain. Realising that offense would be ineffective at this point, Larion just sits down and begins to scratch at his claws, scraping metal against metal until they are pointed and sharp enough to deal enough damage to half-way compensate for the burn. Yamask is undettered and simply reaches into the dark recesses of the arena, pulling all of the shadows towards Larion at once in a massive rush of ghostly energy that deals considerable damage, but not enough to be seriously threatening. Larion crashes down with a thud and rests for a moment, waiting out Yamask's resolve so that he can finally finish off the specter. Yamask retalliates by blasting forth another pulse of the remaining shadows and night energy. Larion HP: 64 Energy: 77 Other: Burned, Mummy One Action, +1 Att, +1Acc Killstreak: 0 Yamask HP: 1 Energy: 1 Other: Unable to Endure next round Killstreak: 1 Endure: 15 energy, holding on Bite: 7 damage, 5 energy Hone Claws: 6 energy, +1 Att, +1 Acc Night Shade: 10 damage, 4 energy Chill: +12 energy Night Shade: 10 damage, 8 energy, Yamask holds on!

I know its dorrknob's move, but I'm going to save time by saying I Bite until its dead. He can't do anything anyway; even if he protects he still faints without achieving anything.

Round Eight: The ref is /literally/ on drugs
So, after multiple days, a fairly rough illness, one long killer headache, a near-hospitalization, and some drugs (medicinal kind), I'm back in buisiness. So where were we? Oh yeah, Pupitar and Tyrogue come out and proceed to kill each other. Fun. Pupitar begins to abuse its... superior... speed... (WTF) to thrash around violently and cause the entire arena to shake as the universe explodes following the death of Kim Jong-Il and the breakdown of reason. Tyrogue narrowly avoids this near-apocalypse situation by jumping into the air and pulling some ninja/matrix stuff to slam into Pupitar hard. Pupitar continues to unleash epic world-shattering power using his North Korean mourning skills, except this time the earth blowing attack has less of a mental and more of a physical approach. Tyrogue also brings the battle closer and more physical (but no homo) by striking with a combination of punches and chops in quick succession. And the duo exchange another blast of earthen material and a flying kick, although Pupitar's attack seems to hit Tyrogue in a vulnerable area. No elaboration needed. Earth Power: 15 damage, 6 energy Hi Jump Kick: 22 damage, 7 energy Earthquake: 15 damage, 6 energy Brick Break: 14 damage, 5 energy Earth Power: 18 damage, 6 energy, critical hit Hi Jump Kick: 22 damage, 7 energy Pupitar HP: 44 En: 82 Otr: --- Tyrogue HP:42 En: 81 Otr: ---

Pupitar
HP: 44 En: 82 Otr: --- Tyrogue HP:42 En: 81 Otr: --- Round Nine: Apologies and a KO Hey guys, sorry about the major delay, but I totally forgot about this and my other non-ASM reffing obligations. But enough of that, on with the battle. Tyrogue delivers another airborne kick to Pupitar after suffering from another literally earthshaking blow. Pupitar is on its last legs, but manages to get off an Earth Power before being KO'd by one last Hi Jump Kick. Tyrogue is looking fairly tired at this point, but can keep going for a little while longer against one final opponent. Pupitar KO Tyrogue HP: 12 Energy: 55 Otr: 1 Killstreak Earthquake: 15 damage, 6 energy Hi Jump Kick: 22 damage, 11 energy Earthpower: 15 damage, 6 energy Hi Jump Kick: 22 damage, 15 energy Lord Jesseus sends out Aggron and issues actions, Doorknob tries to save himself, I finish things. Let's do this.

By my probably wrong calculations, this should nab the KO...if it hits! According to the ground gym battle, I am able to use the combination if I have the energy necessary for the moves alone (19 + 23 = 42).

Larion
HP: 62 Energy: 72 Other: Burned Tyrogue HP: 12 Energy: 55 Other: N/A Round Ten: One Kick to Rule Them All Newly on the field, and in much better condition than his opponent, Larion prepares to dominate the end of the battle. He quickly charges forwards, gathering momentum that creates a small wind tunnel around him and most specifically his head that seriously messes up Tyrogue's balance when it hits, and blasts him several feet back in the air. And then the Matrix skills come in. Bouncing off of the wall when he hits it, Tyrogue uses it as a springboard to jump back with much, much more force in a collossal midair kick that slams into Larion very, very, very hard, sending the steel-type back several feet before he finally stops, on his last legs. Just before he can react and get up fully, he finally collapses due to the force of the kick and his burn. Lord Jesseus has been eliminated! Doorknob wins! Ariel Ace: 11 damage, 5 energy Super Hi Jump Kick: 60 damage, 29 energy Larion faints due to burn! Rewards: Rediamond: 7 UC Lord Jesseus: 2CC -Seadra: 2 MC, 1DC, 1EC, 1KO -Larion: 2MC, 1DC, 1EC, 1KO -Pupitar: 2MC, 1DC, 1EC Doorknob: 2CC -Slakoth: 2MC, 1EC -Yamask: 2MC, 1EC, 1DC, 1KO -Tyrogue: 2MC, 1EC, 1DC, 2KO Peace.

I'm pretty sure Super High Jump kcik should have costed a LOT more than 29 energy.
First of all, he had already used HJK on the three previous actions, meaning a regular HJK would cost 19 EN. And since the cost of a combination is (EN+EN+4)*2 thats... 19+23=42*2=84. Even if you dont apply consecutive penalty, 7+11=18*2=36, fairly more than 29. :/ But more importantly, Tyrogue uses 84 Energy for that combo which kos him before the burn gets to Lairon.

Consecutive energy in combinations is an issue that has not been formally resolves. In order to prevent a reffing from being interpreted either way and battle's becoming a matter of any objection being valid, I will be sticking with my interpretation in that combinations are seperate moves entirely. And 7 energy is irrelevant here.
EDIT: Fine. Deck overruled. So, HJK KO'd to energy, Lord Jesseus wins and gets the KO, and Doorknob loses his (and loses the evolution). Please try to object slightly faster in the future.

So do I have to post in the prize claiming thread to unclaim it? Hitmonlee evolves no matter what, he will just lose one move as I have to put one more KOC into his EC instead of MC.
Well, Good game anyways, Jesseus! I hope to face you with some mid-stage mons in the future :) . |

Yeah it was a fun match Doorknob. Next time we may be more evenly matched.
Red, thanks for reffing, besides that little issue... sorry for being a pain in the ass. :p
