I'm not at all surprised sand is rising in usage. I made a lol team with Hippotas, Gible, Diglett, Growlithe, and Stunfisk, and Shuckle, and the 6% damage each turn is wonderful. Even though my pokemon only do a maximum of a solid 15% damage, except +4 Justice Growlithe, I end up winning a game or two.
I mean 75% of my games by game or two.

I like how we see all the NFE mons at the bottom like Charmander, Jigglypuff, Squirtle, and the bunch. I think I remember running into those guys using them in like every match :L

I like the fact that Ludicolo is more popular than Politoad.
Other than that, the list doesn't surprise me. The top 10 have been staples for a while.

Why is Gastrodon listed as
29 - Gastrodon (3.47 %) and 42 - Gastrodon-East (2.11 %)? Unless I´m missing something obvious, they´re the same Pokémon. Thus Gastrodon should be #18 with 5.58% before Kingdra (?)

Well, nothing here has shocked or amazed me. Seems fairly similar, will wait until I see the movers list though. A bit upset Miltank is still down there on 0.00% though.
I can't see why people aren't leaping at the chaance to use it. I know for a fact Whitneys Miltank stopped 9 year old Dozz in his tracks. Had nothing to combat dat milk drinking. Lets see a miltank team.

I wonder if it will end up falling down to a point where people newer to VGC start believing that Rain isn't as threatening as people originally thought. |

Somewhat surprised this is so low. Solar Power is risky, and that 4x rock weak is a killer, but nobody is using its DW Ability? Granted, you have to build around it, but when it's used well, that thing can get kills like nothing else.

Am I right in thinking that Cleffa is a massive anomaly, based on the androids having it set as default? If not, something is very wrong with the world.
Interesting to see more people going for Latias over Latios, maybe it is a reflection of how the metagame is changing, and people are looking at using some bulk as well as massive attacks. I don't know though. Poor Toxicroak though. He's fallen from grace now rains seems to be on the out. Big thanks to Sixonesix for the changes list!

I'm not really surprised to see that rain continues to decrease slightly every week. To be honest, most of the rain teams I have either seen or played on PO are very basic / general, and a good player should have counters to it and know how to beat it. That being said, I still feel that a rain team is very viable as long as you know how to beat its main problems, such as bulky Pokemon (ie Cresselia), Thunder Wave (ie Thundurus, Cresselia), other weather (ie Abomasnow, Tyranitar, Sunny Day from random Pokemon), and other rain teams. I've stressed this in many threads but most people think rain is an autopilot kind of team, "Oh, I'll just lead with Politoed and Ludicolo every game and Surf/Hydro Pump everything into oblivion." Obviously, it's not true but the fact that rain is starting to see a decrease is still pretty interesting.
It may be that I haven't been paying that much attention to it but I never noticed how high up Jellicent and Infernape were. Personally, I love both of those Pokemon and used them on my fall Regionals team but from most of the games I've played on PO, they were never really used effectively for me to really remember. That or I just haven't really seen many teams with them. Also, Android users have made PO so much less fun when they don't know what they're doing :/ |
