The round begins with LouisCyphre sending out his Murkrow, dark as the blackest night. MrcRanger97 responds with a wraith of his own: a malevolent Gastly seeking to do harm to all. The spook takes initiative, breathing a Will-O-Wisp in the bird's direction. While most Murkrow could have dodged it, Lou's was unable to; the resultant burn clearly leaves the bird in pain as small gouts of flame appear here and there on its body. Murkrow, however, is still one arrogant fowl; its taunting gestures leave Gastly enraged and unable to think of anything but destroying, burning, molesting, annihilating the foe...

Murkrow shines brightly before Gastly has a chance to act; clearly, a powerful strike is incoming. An ethereal appendages emerges from the incorporeal blob, crackling with electricity - with lightning speed, it slams into the fowl of darkness, dealing impressive damage. However, Lou's bird is not to be outdone, unleashing an extraordinary strike which clearly wounds the Gastly. However, the earlier burn is certainly taking its toll; one cannot help but think that the Murkrow would be both more durable and more powerful if it didn't have its flaming hide to contend with.

The raging Gastly can think of nothing but striking down Murkrow, so it does just that, repeating its prior attack. This time, as the electrified blob collides with Murkrow, electricity can be seen across the bird's body - it appears that Gastly has gotten lucky and paralyzed the dark bird! Murkrow, however, is unfazed by both the paralysis and the attack - it manages to deal a decent hint to Gastly. The gouts of flame and arcs of electricity undermine its confident appearance; Murkrow is clearly suffering at the round's end.

The second portion of the duel between LouisCyphre and MrcRanger97 is a sordid tale of blood, war, and continued bad luck on Lou's part. Murkrow begins the round by glowing brightly - Gastly is sure to know what that means. However, another crackling swipe across the fowl's face leaves Murkrow rather hurt. Regardless of the blow and of the conditions that it suffers, Murkrow manages to steamroll Gastly with a massive hit.

Murkrow shines with an iridiscent light immediately after its prior hit, ignoring the flames spouting across its hide. Gastly, finally deciding to change its tactic in destroying the hated foe, rains venomous droplets down on Murkrow, leaving Murkrow far more hurt than some might expect. However, one more strike by Murkrow leaves the specter in poor shape - two more will surely spell its doom.

The fowl of darkness is relentless in its monotonous, albeit effective, attack strategy. Yet another thunderous strike from Gastly leaves Murkrow in sorry shape - between the repeated blows and the perpetual flame lighting itself across the fowl's feathers, it appears not long for this world. Just as it attempts to retaliate, electricity arcs across the poor bird's body as its muscles and joints seize up - the paralysis has surely taken its toll! However, once Murkrow frees itself from the "shock-lock", it becomes apparent that it is no longer affected by the demoralizing and irritating side effect of Gastly's repeated attacks. However, Murkrow is in far worse shape than Gastly - can it pull off a surprise victory? Keep your eyes trained on this duel of darkness to find out!
