Man, I had a peak of 1200-ish points and 853 rank, but I've ran into a wall and dropped to 1956. I use the classic CM Virizion set. Also, great idea for a project!! (no taking Meta. I CALLED HIM!!) EDIT: Since I never actually started laddering (I used the username AxmasterTest2 instead, to test my MixMeta set), I will be changing Dark Horses to Virizion. If you would like me to change my username to prove this, I'd be happy to.

Wait, so Toxicroak is under 5% (3.944%) so would that qualify?
I feel like within the context of weather (in this case, a rain team) he wouldn't be a dark horse at all. |

It's in the overall metagame. Practically any viable hail Pokemon you can think of that's not Heatran, Tentacruel, Conkeldurr, or Reuniclus is a potential Dark Horse Pokemon, and there's a number of good sun sweepers under 5% usage too (Venusaur, Victini, Darmanitan, Sawsbuck).

Hail's a frequently-overlooked weather in this metagame, simply due to the vast amount of limitations it possesses and its perceived inferiority to every other weather. But, with the right set of Pokemon, hail can be quite dangerous. Abomasnow @ Leftovers Ability: Snow Warning EVs: 252 HP / 252 SpAtk / 4 Spe Nature: Modest (+SpAtk, -Atk) -Protect -Leech Seed -Giga Drain -Blizzard Kyurem @ Choice Scarf Ability: Pressure EVs: 252 SpAtk / 4 SpDef / 252 Spe Nature: Modest (+SpAtk, -Atk) -Draco Meteor -Focus Blast -Ice Beam -Blizzard Mamoswine @ Life Orb Ability: Snow Cloak EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe Nature: Jolly (+Spe, -SpAtk) -Stone Edge -Earthquake -Icicle Crash -Ice Shard Pretty much your standard Hail Core, but this really was less for ingenuity and more for the simple desire to see more diversity amongst the weather-dominated OU metagame.
