Hi, unless you're me or you're a challenger, pleast don't post until the completion of the TLR.
Hello challengers, are you ready to have your dreams crushed? NO? What do you mean no? I think you mean yes, if that's the case, then good. Let's introduce you two to the randoms that view this thread. The first being an old time Scrambler, average ASBer, & the other being the one with the massive movepools & the host of the ASB Raid Zone. Time to meet these two & what they're using in detail. Texas Cloverleaf
Sharky the Garchomp @ Oran Berry
Zoan the Charizard @ Pecha Berry
Behemoth the Cyclohm @ Oran Berry
Backpack
zarator
Myrkul the Revenankh @ Expert Belt
Ghaunadaur the Amoonguss @ Big Root
Ulutiu the Slowking @ Light Clay
Backpack
And with that, the TLR shall now begin...In earnest... TIMELESS TOWER Timeless Tower is an unfathomably large structure seated on an impregnable cliffside. The tower's main spire looms over its entrance hundreds of feet into the air. Bridges extend from the main tower to three separate spires, each on an island pillar of immense density. The ocean roars violently below, beckoning you to stay away. The bridge to the east leads to a tower frozen over in a massive pillar of ice. The sunlight glistens against its reflective surface, yet no melt can be shown. You look cold just staring at it. The bridge to the west leads to a craggy pillar that seems to be etched from the very earth itself, impossibly dense and immovable. A third tower can be seen behind the structure on your map, but it is eclipsed by the sheer enormity of the main spire. It is made of the sturdiest looking metal you have ever seen, an unnaturally purely refined solidity that shares the brilliant sheen of the icy tower and the sheer density of the crag. As you go up to the entrance, the drawbridge on the main gate opens and falls with a loud crash onto the only access to the mainland. On either side of the bridge are statues of Golurk holding up massive spears. As you enter the main atrium, a massive statue of Golem rolled up into a ball takes the centre of the arena. You look around the room and see exits your east and west going to the towers, stairs built into the floor going down presumably to the tower behind the main spire, and a massive door with 3 slots in the gate. Depictions of the gate are on the left and right, and show 3 stones being placed in the gate. Both mosaics are completely sand-coloured except for the stones. One is an azure blue, one is a dull brown, and the other a shimmering silver. You attempt to push the gate, but it is so massively heavy you feel tired just pushing on it. It will not budge. What could this all mean? And where do you go from here? Your Options are as follows... Enter Ice Spire Enter Rock Crag Enter Iron Dungeon

Rock Crag it is.
By the way, I forgot to equip the Big Root I bought roughly one week ago to my Amoonguss. Am I still in time? If not, ah well. |

TEXAS CLOVERLEAF
Iron Dungeon - Still Pall You decide that you want to head north to the metal pillar, feeling that it will be the bast dungeon to start with, so you go inside. You instantly have to put up with dullness & endless staircases as soon as you're inside & you find it to be rather annoying. Eventually, through the staircases & whatnot, you come across a chamber that feels silent. You see that it is empty, & carelessly make your way inside. Not as soon as you make your way inside, you are instantly attacked by two intricate mechanisms, i.e. Klink. These two are not friendly & attack you, forcing you to send in your three Pokemon. It's time to duel, it seems...
Battle Begin!
Backpack + Rewards Bank
Klink A: Thunderbolt (Zoan) > Thunderbolt (Zoan) IF Zoan Protects successfully without transfer, OR Sharky Bodyblocks Zoan, THEN replace your current action with Flash Cannon (Sharky, Gem) Klink B: Thunderbolt (Zoan) > Thunderbolt (Zoan) IF Zoan Protects successfully without transfer, OR Sharky Bodyblocks Zoan, THEN replace your current action with Flash Cannon (Sharky, Gem) __________________________ ZARATOR Rock Crag - Boring Hollow You decide that your best course of action is to head to the pillar of the west, thinking about what treasures it may hold! So you do... Once inside, you notice that everything became earthy & there was a very "earthy" smell to everything. It was a pretty bad smell & it made you desperate to get through this passage early. Eventually you do, & you come across a chamber that looked rather...plain. There was nothing there, but a wide, clear open space. Sadly, it still had an earthy smell to it. You carefully make your way across, seeing an exit, but as you make your way to the centre of the arena, you suddenly see a few pairs of eyes in the darkness. You feel that this is becoming dangerous & you send out your three Pokemon, just in case...And they pounce. A Bonsly & a Roggenrola attacks you from out of nowhere & you are forced to engage in combat with the two. They may look weak, but don't be fooled, they can easily hurt your TLR chances if you're not careful! Battle begin!
Round End
Backpack + Rewards Bank
Bonsly: Faint Attack (Ulutiu) > Faint Attack (Ulutiu) IF Ulutiu Protects successfully without transfer, THEN redirect your attack to Myrkul IF First sub triggered AND Myrkul Protects successfully without transfer, THEN replace that action with Headbutt (Ghaunadaur) Roggenrola: Rock Blast (Ghaunadaur) > Rock Slide IF Ghaunadaur uses Protect without transfer A1, OR Myrkul Bodyblocks Ghaunadaur A1, THEN redirect Rock Blast to Ulutiu |

Cyclohm, help out your comrade and bodyblock for Zoan twice. Zoan, then punish the left Klink for being so violent and Flamethrower it, followed by an Inferno at the same Klink. Garchomp, Swords Dance, followed by a DIg on the left Kilnk.

TEXAS CLOVERLEAF
Iron Dungeon - Still Pall Sharky begins the match by showing his offensive prowess by summoning holographis swords which swirl around him & make him stronger. Zoan then begins the offensive charge by firing a powerful stream of fire at one of the Klink which ends up leaving the Klink with a stinging burn. At this point, Behemoth is not interested in attacking & simply gets herself into a position where she can defend Zoan & then the two Klink strike with bolts of lightning! Poor Zoan was going to be struck, but Behemoth's reaction time was spot on & she takes the two attacks comfortably, frustrating the Klink. Sharky then goes ahead & defies the laws of physics & burrows his way into the metal floor, somehow managing to break through with little trouble. Zoan then launches a white-hot ball of fire at one of the Klinks, & despite looking rather unstable, the ball of fire makes contact with the Klink & engulfs it in white-hot fire, aggrivating its burn. Behemoth then gets ready to defend Zoan again & does exactly that, intercepting two more bolts of lightning comfortably, as Sharky then pops out of the ground & strikes the burned Klink for even more power. Well, you certainly have the power to maul theese Klink, but what will the poor lackeys do to fight back? Issue your actions.

__________________________ ZARATOR Rock Crag - Boring Hollow Myrkul opens the bout by chopping the Bonsly with a swipe of his fist, as Ghaunadaur joins in on beating up the poor Bonsly, firing a ball of matter at Bonsly for some more damage. Ulutiu instead, plays the supportive role, & dutifully sets up a barrier that him & his teammates desperately crave. The two lackeys the attack, as Roggenrola chucks 5 powerful rocks at Ghaunadaur, while Bonsly barely scratches Ulutiu's surface with a mischevious plunder. Myrkul then decides to aim low by tripping the Bonsly over & making him slower, while Ghaunadaur fires a red beam at the Bonsly, which saps a lot of health from the Bonsly, & undoing all the damage he sustained from Rock Blast. Ulutiu then delivers the final blow to the Bonsly with a jet of boiling water that leaves Bonsly burning to death...So Roggenrola tries to avenge his fellow lackey by chucking rocks over your entire team, as your three members simply laugh at the pitiful damage it's done. You're doing very well at the moment, but the Roggenrola looks a little angry at the moment...So, what will you do to calm it down? Or will you just put it out of its misery? Issue your actions.

Umm...
Myrkul: Brick Break - Chill Ghaunadaur: Spore - Chill (Regenerator) If Roggenrola uses Explosion on action 2, replace Chill with Protect Ulutiu: Chill (Regenerator) - Scald If Roggenrola uses Explosion on action 2, replace Scald with Protect If I can, I'd like the substitutions to happen only if Roggenrola wakes up (or avoided sleep) and actually uses Explosion, rather that if he tries to blow up in its sleep and fails due to him being fast asleep. If it is not possible because of rules, then just go with the substitutions as they are worded out. |

Texas, it would be easier if you could just go Klink A, etc, good thing I pretty much knew what you meant.
zarator, that can be simplified into "IF (Pokemon) would use (Move) successfully, THEN (Whatever)" sub, which is legal. TEXAS CLOVERLEAF
Iron Dungeon - Still Pall The two Klink are not amused with you & decide that they want to have some fun. The badly wounded Klink throws up a forcefield to save itself form any danger, while Sharky makes his way underground...again...Zoan then tries to scorch the wounded Klink with a stream of fire, but it is blocked by the forcefield. Behemoth then stops defending & tries to break the forcefield as well with a bolt of lightning...But again, to no avail. The other Klink then fires a beam of electricity at Zoan, zapping him & making its attacks that little bit stronger. Shortly, Sharky then pops out & strikes the non-forcefield Klink for some damage. Sharky & Zoan then think that this was a good time to take a break...So they do. Behemoth then shows her inner bitch in front of a Klink & makes some very bad comments that subject it to some nightmares. The two Klink then retaliate, with the weakened Klink firing a bolt of lightning, finally hitting Zoan, & the other firing a very blinding shot at Sharky, which hits. So, thanks to them rotten Klink, you haven't really made that much progress this update. So...What will you do? Issue your actions.

Klink A: Discahrge + Discharge Combo > N/A IF Both Zoan AND Behemoth use Protect A1, THEN Chill > Discharge instead Klink B: Gear Grind (Sharky, Gem) > Flash Cannon (Sharky, Gem) IF Sharky uses Protect successfully without transfer, OR Sharky uses Dig, THEN Thunderbolt (Zoan), using Discharge if triggered again __________________________ ZARATOR Rock Crag - Boring Hollow Roggenrola, hopeless & lost, decides to throw up a forcefield as a form of defence, & it works just fine, with the barrier putting up with a chop from Myrkul, & various dangerous spores from Ghaunadaur. Ulutiu realises that it's hopeless to attack the forcefield, & simply takes a break. At this point, Myrkul & Ghaunadaur are a bit tired after the attack, & decide that they also want to take a break, while Ulutiu, who wisely waited for the forcefield to dissipate, then fires his attack, drenching the Roggenrola in a jet of boiling water. The Roggenrola was very angry at this point, & decides to throw more Rocks at Ghaunadaur, though she only managed to throw two. You seem to have the Roggenrola where you want her, but if you are not careful, then the Lackey might just do more bad things. What shall you do? Issue your actions.

You forgot factoring in Sturdy for Roggenrola I think. Its actual HP should be 68, not 66. That being said...
Myrkul: Bodyblock (Ghaunadaur) - Mach Punch Ghaunadaur: Chill (Regenerator) - Energy Ball Ulutiu: Water Gun - Water Pulse This Roggenrola may fail to explode, but it still blows, if you get what I mean^^ |

Yeah, Texas, it would help to specify the target of your moves...
TEXAS CLOVERLEAF Iron Dungeon - Still Pall Aggrivated, Zoan throws up a forcefield to protect himself from any further danger, while Sharky burrows his way underground. Behemoth, sick & tired of the Klinks meddling, finishes off the burned one with a powerful sound wave. The remaining Klink fires a bolt of lightning at Zoan, only for him to block it, driving the temper of the lackey off the deep end, as Sharky pulverises it after popping out from the underground. Sharky then takes a break, while Behemoth & Zoan combine forces, torching the remaining Klink by combining searing flames. The poor lackey never had the chance... Upon victory, you send your Pokemon back in, & pick up a Steel Gem that one of the Klink's had dropped (Normally two, but the other was technically consumed). Seeing nothing else worthy of note, you move on to the next area.
Battle End
Calculations
Backpack + Rewards Bank
Iron Dungeon - Gear Golem Some more Staircases await you as you struggle to make it up some of them. Eventually, you come across a very strange chamber. While the rest of the area seem bland for the most part, a very intricate design has been placed here. A massive humanoid contraption stands at the centre of the room. What this represents you have no clue. It doesn't really resemble any person or Pokemon you know of. In any case the room has no apparent exit, but the gear golem has several levers in front of it. Upon review, the room looks a bit round on the edges, not like the square steel structures you've been used to. There are 3 levers, left, right, and centre placed about 2 metres in front on the golem. You hear clanging behind you, forward seems like the best part. Which lever shall you pull? a) Pull the lever on the left. b) Pull the lever in the centre. c) Pull the lever on the right. __________________________ ZARATOR Rock Crag - Boring Hollow Myrkul begins the round by getting himself into a position, ready to defend Ghaunadaur, while Ulutiu squirts a jet of water which drenches the Roggenrola. Ghaunadaur simply takes a break, knowing he was in safe hands, as Roggenrola throws three large boulders at Ghaunadaur, only for Myrkul to block it. Just as well, since the first two boulders were massively unstable & veered off course, while the third hit Myrkul, but Myrkul took the attack "like a champ". This massively frustrated the Roggenrola, so to speak. Myrkul then lead an offensive charge, whacking the Roggenrola with a lightning quick punch, while Ghaunadaur blasted her with a ball of matter. Ulutiu then finished off the Roggenrola once & for all with a powerful jet of water which knocked the Roggenrola back into the distance. So, you had won the battle, & with nothing else in the area, you move on.
Battle End
Calculations
Backpack + Rewards Bank
Rock Crag - Rumble Hall Going through the passage, you notice that the earthy smell is getting worse, & the gradient of the passage pretty much started to rise at a steady rate. But through some hard yards, you then enter an area called the Rumble Hall, where you start to feel tremours. This area of the crag that is more unstable than the others. Earthquakes seem to randomly average this area, causing you to lose your footing, but aside from physical movement, the area seems entirely unscathed. It's entirely possible this could be the work of a Pokemon rather than an actual feature of the area. In any case you can see down two paths, one where a few small rocks rumble visibly, while the other is calm. You surmise the quakes are coming from that area. What do you do? a) Enter towards the quakes and inspect what is going on. b) Continue onward and ignore the quakes. c) Stay and see if something happens. |

Left lever.
And I actually did specify the target for the only action that mattered to. As sonicboom always does 10 the Klink was guaranteed to be killed, hence the other moves only had one target.

TEXAS CLOVERLEAF
Iron Dungeon - Gear Golem You pull the left lever, knowing you hadn't pulled that lever before & the gear golem springs to life and rotates to the left, extending its arms. The room rotates and a corridor to the left opens up. The left lever breaks in your hand. The golem powers down and you find you can't budge the other levers. You'll need to power it again. You look back but find the original entrance is sealed. With nowhere to go, you venture left, and you find a power source... or more accurately, it finds you. A Magneton greets you and uses a Magnetic Field to bounce forward your Zoan. It won't dispel for two rounds. Magneton generates another field and rises further from the ground, then glows red and targets your pokemon with red rings. This does not look good for you...
Battle Begin!
Backpack + Rewards Bank
Magneton: Zap Cannon > Thunderbolt > Electro Ball IF Protect successfully, THEN Rain Dance, using Chill is triggered again __________________________ ZARATOR Rock Crag - Rumble Hall You think the tremours that you kept on feeling would be too dangerous to investigate, so continue through the area until you can no longer feel the quakes. Whoo, no random Pokemon to battle, lucky you. Discretion is the better part of valour, you suppose...
Your Current Party
Backpack + Rewards Bank
Rock Crag - Vista You continue to make your way through the vertical crag, noticing the path's gradient becoming noticeably bigger, & the rotten, earthy smell becoming a lot more worse. eventually, you brave the smell & come across a beautiful place. This place turns out to be a vista that overlooks Timeless Tower. You can spot the bridge you came here in, and you still look up at the massive height of the main tower. You can spot the Iron Dungeon from here as well. There is some room to move up and get a better view, though there might be wild Pokemon here. So, how shall you proceed? a) Approach the edge of the Vista. b) Stay close to the wall and move on.

Protect, 25 HP Sub, Protect
As I was told Thunderbolt would deal 24 damage, if THunderbolt would break the Sub, have the actions be 15 HP Sub, Flare Blitz, Flamethrower instead.

Texas, whoever told you that was wrong. It does far more...
TEXAS CLOVERLEAF
Iron Dungeon - Gear Golem Zoan begins by setting up a decoy which ends up taking his place. Just as well, as Magneton fires a powerful electrical shot which decimates the decoy. Zoan, realising that he'll have to duke it out the hard way, goes on a reckless charge enveloped in fire, which strikes the Magneton head on, but forces Zoan to take recoil, as the Magneton fires a bolt of lightning which zaps Zoan, making him a lot weaker, but weak enough for Zoan to activate Blaze, where he fires a hot, scorching flame, which douses the Magneton, who simply responds with an electrically charged shot that literally forces Zoan to go down in a blaze of glory. With Zoan gone, the Magneton now turns its attention to the rest off your team, which you are forced to send in! What will you do? Issue your actions. Please Issue TWO (2) actions this round.

__________________________ ZARATOR Rock Crag - Vista You approach the edge of the vista & enjoy the view. You send out your Pokemon & take a little break, clearly making out the Iron Dungeon, where Texas has found himself in a bit of a pickle. After a little break, you call your Pokemon back & calmly make your way to the Vista's exit. As you leave, you can't help but think you've managed to slip by something, but it doesn't worry you, as you move on to the next part of the Rock Crag...
Your Current Party
Backpack + Rewards Bank
Rock Crag - Petrified Forest As you leave the Vista, even more big gradient slopes confront you, as well as an even-worse earthy smell. The slopes are now becoming more unbearable than before, as you suddenly come across another chamber. This chamber is a desolate arena full of trees encased in magma long ago that have since solidified into solid rock. Although a light to the outside world still shines through, the place is so dusty and gloomy that the very sight of it depresses your spirit. As you enter, you can't help but think you're being watched. On a pedestal there appears to be a bottle of Fresh Water for no explicable reason, with a small tree on one side. It's possible the item could heal one of your Pokemon for 50 HP. Do you go for it? You also see an exit going further into the treacherous tower. So, what will you do? a) Take the Fresh Water! b) RUN FOR YOUR LIVES!!! |

TEXAS CLOVERLEAF
Iron Dungeon - Gear Golem Sharky begins by creating 3 instances of himself, only to have them destroyed by homing shrapnel, which homed in on the real Sharky & made contact. Behemoth then makes a loud howl which forces sunlight to randomly find its way into the arena & become harsh...Weird. Sharky then abuses the sun to bite Magneton with a powerful burning fang, while Magneton fires another blinding shot at Sharky for more damage. Behemoth then fires a powerful, sun-boosted ball which strikes Magneton, capping off the round with Magneton on the ropes. Just finish it...Issue your actions.

Magneton: Flash Cannon + Flash Cannon Combo (Sharky) > N/A IF Sharky protects successfully without transfer, THEN redirect to Behemoth __________________________ ZARATOR Rock Crag - Petrified Forest Scared about the trap, you decide to run away from the seemingly innocent Fresh Water & head for the exit. However, you don't watch where you were going, & run face first into a Pokemon. It was a Bolderdash, & it wasn't happy that you hit it, so it strikes you with rocks & sends you hurtling back near the centre of the arena, where another Pokemon awaited & sprang to life. It was a Sudowoodo. The Sudowoodo joins the Bolderdash & it looks like you're going nowhere for now, so you send in your three Pokemon to defend yourself. Looks like it's time to duel! I will give priority to each of my substitution. The lower the priority number is, the higher their priority will be. So, priority 1 substitutions take over priority 2 substitutions. Whenever I don't mention the target (when X uses Wood Hammer), "against yourself" is implicitly understood.
Myrkul: Brick Break (Bolderdash) - Low Sweep (Bolderdash) If Bolderdash uses Hidden Power [Flying], replace your current action with Protect, only once Ghaunadaur: Energy Ball (Bolderdash) - Giga Drain (Bolderdash) If Sudowoodo uses Wood Hammer (Slowking), change your current action to Rage Powder Ulutiu: Scald (Bolderdash) - Heal Pulse (Ghaunadaur) If Bolderdash uses Energy Ball, change your current action to Protect EDIT: Fixed substitutions Last edited by zarator; Nov 27th, 2011 at 6:56:54 PM. |

zarator, when I meant one sub period, I was supposed to say the normal 1 Chance/Move sub per mon...I really should've been more specific, but I did see two non-KO subs per mon before you edited, which I was trying to address...I've automatically applied KO subs for each of your mons (If Bolderdash faints when you are targeting it, redirect to Sudowoodo)...Sorry, call me an idiot if you wish...9.9

So, which one will you pull? a) Pull the lever in the centre. b) Pull the lever on the right. __________________________ ZARATOR Rock Crag - Petrified Forest Bolderdash wastes no time getting to business roasting Ghaunadaur with a powerful, gem boosted shot of fire which leaves the mushroom with horrendus burns, while Myrkul chops the Bolderdash with a swing of his arms. Ulutiu then fires a jet of hot water at the Bolderdash, which makes contact, as Sudowoodo whacks Ghaunadaur with a burning hot fist. Ghaunadaur caps off the first action by firing a ball of matter at the Bolderdash which hits. Not to be outdone, the Bolderdash fires another blast of searig hot flames at Ghaunadaur using part of its Gem, while Myrkul aims low at the Bolderdash & trip it over, finishing it off. Ulutiu then helps out his wounded comrade with a beam of light, while Ghaunadaur drains some life force from Sudowoodo. Capping off the round, Sudowoodo throws another fist of flames at Ghaunadaur, dealing more damage. One down, one to go. What shall you do? Issue your actions.
