The question here is: where do we go from now? A spinblocker is a potential idea, although options are pretty limited there as well (do we have anything outside of Misdreavus, Haunter, and Frillish anyway?). We could go for another sweeper, or perhaps just something to cover our weaknesses so far (Grass/Poison-types, anyone?). There are a ton of different ways we can move on from here so feel free to express what you've got in mind!

![]() ![]() ![]() NU C&C Index & Reservations Important Resources: Welcome to the zillionth re-iteration of the NU C&C Index thread. This time around, we're mostly aiming to finalize and make every analysis on-site awesome. I'm not going to try to adopt the same method that we tried with the last index thread because that was hellish to maintain and we had outright terrible activity from our Quality Control team + myself in updating and controlling this thread. Nothing significant has been completed and updated in the last few months and the quality of most of the analyses on-site currently really reflect that. - rules - reserve 2 mons, 3 if badgeholder - no edit - post here when you put up a skeleton, again when you finished (not when it's written up) - analyses showing minimal activity can be re-assigned - an update needs to be an improvement, not just a re-write - recently updated analyses, everything else is free to go tbh i didnt even catch that you said anything lol wats up my NIGGUZ - NU C&C has stagnated - it's full of shit - stupid boring posts and no one qcs anymore - lets make it awesommm http://pastebin.com/GYMvMf7q http://www.smogon.com/forums/showpos...4&postcount=54 http://puu.sh/2ytik http://puu.sh/2ytiG ^ treecko37, a few others in PM

Haunter @ Leftovers
4 HP / 252 SpAtk / 252 Spe Timid -Substitute -Disable -Shadow Ball -Sludge Bomb Utterly walls grass/poisons, spin blocker, good spikes abuser in its own right, need I say more? (probably, but I don't really feel up to it)

trait: Vital Spirit Timid (+Spe - Atk) evs: 252 Spatk / 252 Spe / 4 spdef - Fire Blast - Focus Blast - Thunderbolt - Hidden Power Ice I think Magmortar is a great choice at this point. Grass/poison types walk all over us, and mag is a great answer to it. Taking on Vileplume and Amoonguss with ease. Hidden power ice is chosen to we can take out Altaria, and Serp covers Quagsire pretty well. Magmortar also gives us a g/w/f core. It does a lot for the team right now so yeah

Drifblim @ Leftovers Ability: Aftermath Nature: Timid (+Spe, -Atk) EVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe - Substitute - Calm Mind - Shadow Ball - Hidden Power Fighting Drifblim is an extremely bulky spinblocker and beats almost all of the Grass-types in the tier one-on-one (and hits Eggy with a super effective STAB Shadow Ball to boot). Substitute protects Drifblim from the likes of Absol, Timid ties with Mesprit, and Ghost + Fighting has pretty darn good coverage in the tier. The only Rapid Spinnner Drifblim really has trouble against is Armaldo, but repeated Shadow Balls will take its toll, and we have 3 other teamslots to help in that regard. Drifblim's typing brings Fighting-, Ground-, and Normal-type immunities to the table, resists Bug and Poison for Serperior, and resists Grass for Omanyte (as well as the aforementioned Fighting and Ground). The Rock-, Ice-, and Electric-type weaknesses are annoying, but Serperior can set up on the latter, and doesn't necessarily mind Rock-types after a boost or two. Otherwise, Ghost and Dark attacks are pretty rare in NU, and Drifblim doesn't mind most Ghost-types after a Calm Mind. EDIT: I guess Cryogonal, Haze variants especially, are a bit of a bitch, but if they don't have Haze they can't necessarily switch in, and Drifblim can still switch in on Rapid Spin to force it to Ice Beam or Toxic. Cincinno@Life Orb
Technician Jolly 252Atk, 252Spd, 4HP ~Tail Slap/Return ~Rock Blast ~Wake-Up Slap ~Bullet Seed/U-Turn Cincinno speed ties at worse with Jynx and shuts down Substitutes with its array of multi-hit moves. Bullet Seed allows it to take out Gorebyss, but U-Turn provides more scouting potential and keeps momentum up. |

ayte, time to be that obscure guy:
Muk (M) @ Black Sludge Trait: Sticky Hold EVs: 216 HP / 252 Atk / 36 Def / 4 Spd Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk) - Substitute - Focus Punch - Gunk Shot / Poison Jab - Shadow Sneak so yeah, sub-punch muk. now what, pray tell, does he offer to this team? well, for starters, it offer a tspike aborber .-. i've brought this up last stage, but tspikes will ruin serp, and now omanyte won't full well appreciate them either. secondly, this guy's typing means he can thoroughly manhandle the grass/poison that thus far walk all over our current team. he outpaces both amoongus and vileplume (bar vileplume speed creeps, but meh), sets up a sub in their face, and bam, they got nothing for him. then you can just spam whatever 'til they're out, and thats once less problem to worry about. plus, he is in general and enormous special sponge, which is always pretty excellent to have. oh, and it's a dead stop to basically every qd poke here, for what it's worth (butterfree seems like it could turn into a threat if left alone). plus, shadow sneak means that jynx and haunter just became much smaller problems. oh, and i'm not good at mainstream pokemonery, it don't work for me .-.

^ I agree with Muk, but not that set. Muk has a very usable spD stat which correlates well with omanytes physical bulk. Maybe a curse set?

i wouldn't argue with curse muk if we used it, but if we did it would be just sorta hitting a stalemate with amoongus (who could just clear smog and spore in cycles), and he would be more susceptible to mesprit just coming in and using psychic all over him ( standard subcm is 2-3hko, which is impressive and all, but still risky for my tastes), whereas the sub-punch threatens with gunk shot safely being a sub. but i don't particularly mind, it's a matter of personal preference in the end, so should that be cool with everyone, i wouldn't mind.

Yeah I'm not too picky about it either, as both will serve well but taking out different threats depending on the set.

ive used Drifblim with some mild success as the spin blocker
Drifblim (M) @ Chesto Berry Trait: Unburden EVs: 252 Def / 144 SDef / 112 Spd Bold Nature (+Def, -Atk) - Calm Mind - Rest - Shadow Ball - Thunderbolt after a couple of calm minds, it is really deadly, and if it took some damage, after unburden, it becomes very fast. Or we could use the acrobatics + fly gem variation to nab a KO on any fighting type + shadow ball, thunderbolt, hp fighting :/

I think at this point what we need is a spin-blocker, and smith Ninja'd me on Sub-disable haunter.
Haunter @ Leftovers 4 HP / 252 SpAtk / 252 Spe Timid -Substitute -Disable -Shadow Ball -Sludge Bomb People are suggesting Drifblim, but come on guys, Haunter can beat Cryogonal 1 on 1 ( granted switching in is pretty risky), by outspeeding, disabling Ice beam and fishing for Poison and Spdef drops until Cryo is forced out, or runs out of recover PP. Aside from beating or at least forcing out the best spinner in the tier, haunter can get unbreakable subs after a disable on tons of pokemon, and is just great in general at forcing switches, and disrupting the opponents team, all while potentially keeping our precious spikes on the field.

My vote goes to Sub-Disable Haunter, due mainly to the amount of switches it causes. Although he does not "wall" the aforementioned weaknesses in the true sense of the word (due to his shit defenses), he does a great job of racking up spikes damage, which is pretty much the goal of "spike-stacking offense."
