How should the Smogon YT channel background look?

Post your ideas here on how you think the background should look like. Such as a certain theme you have in mind. And if the background should have a Pokemon, or what Pokemon should it have?

Honestly, I kind of like the current design quite a bit, it reminds me a lot of how the site looks and is nice and simplistic. I have access to Photoshop and could possibly design one after a bit of practice or finding a tutorial.

Having some sort of aesthetic background (which doesn't have to be fancy, I prefer simplistic designs) conveys professionalism. The default YouTube background (which we're using right now), is nothing but dull. Here are some examples of simplistic designs:

I'd like to volunteer to help out!

Actually, this will be my fourth attempt to volunteer to help out with this project :)

I am fairly sure I could get you something that looks professional and is cohesive with the rest of smogon's identity.

The issue is--

Smogon is currently undergoing a site redesign. I've been waiting for chaos for several months to get back to me with some information that I need to move forward with that. But I have already started and sunk around 20 hours into the project, for whatever that's worth.

I think it'd be nice if the website, youtube, and twitter account all had a similar, continuous, professional aesthetic. I think (based on the way things look right now) that aesthetic will look pretty darn professional in the end!

So there's that. But I understand that "hey wait I will do this but I don't know when" is really not what anyone wants to hear (especially since a youtube background would honestly take a day or two at most to create).

My issue from the start has been that I'd rather not design something temporary, because it means I (or someone else) would have to come back at a later time and do another design. And that's not an effective use of time (which may be more important to me than to non-pros).

But since I don't know when the site design will be moving forward (gosh I hope soon), maybe something temporary is in order.

It does not matter to me in the end whether I end up doing a youtube background or someone else does. If you want a temporary submission I'd be glad to give you my sincerest efforts :)

i had been waiting for this for quite a while :). sorry that you haven't been able to get contact with him yet but - based on your previous art used, theres no question that whatever you have would probably be a perfect fit - if you can, please give it a try!

symphony asked me on irc, so I figured I should give an update here--

I've started work on my submission for the youtube background, (and have user: nastyjungle helping me out with it) but have been held up by art requests for SPL. I'll do what I can to finish work on my submission as soon as I'm done with SPL stuff.
