You'll see your friend Deoxys-S is at #11 in the 1337 stats :)
Chandelure is dropping in usage as I expected it to once the "zomg Shadow Tag" hype died down. It's only #5 in 1337 stats Also no surprise seeing 3 of the 4 weathers in the top 9 of overall usage, but it was surprising seeing the fourth (Abomasnow) at #77...

Deoxys-S' 1337 position compensates for such a remarkably low position in the overall statistics. I think Tobes' dual screen team was the only team I remember having trouble with. He can't be outpeed by Chandelure while OHKOing the likes of Breloom, Garchomp, Thundurus, Keldeo and Blaziken; not to mention denting any weather starter reasonably well enough for you to trap and finish off yourself.
I just think people by now understand instead of equipping your weather starter and a key member of your team with Shed Shell, have your team synergy take advantage of Chandelure being locked into one of its four moves and set-up on it comfortably the next turn, seems like a match-winning idea. I see a fair amount of Overheat suggestions, so why not capitalize on their SAtk drop? Without SW + Drizzle, it doesn't shock me that Tyranitar + Excadrill is proving to be one of the most dominent forces in Dream World, despite the popularity of Breloom and Air Balloon Blaziken.

Well we're approaching 70%... Yeah there is a bad lack of diversity unfortunately.
As for the popularity of Tyranitar + Excadrill, one can switch to a wall that can effectively beats Breloom on the turn it decides to attempt a setup or Mach Punch. Bronzong is pretty good at this because it can simply switch in (given another member is asleep) and tank a hit and then KO back. It also walls Excadrill well, though I'm not positive about how it fares against Chandelure. I've had many people attempt to set their Blaziken up on my Breloom and simply losing. Breloom almost does 70% with a Technician-boosted, Life Orb-boosted, and STAB-boosted Mach Punch. Since it has priority, it doesn't even take Blaziken's Speed boosts into account. After a round of this, Flare Blitz recoil, or sand recoil, Blaziken is sorta dead. I'm wondering why Latias is doing better than Latios. In this metagame, it seems as though power is valued more than defensive capabilities, and while Latias is admittedly a good Pokemon, its bad defensive typing and lower Special Attack makes me wonder why it is higher than number 20 while Latios sits squarely at number 20. From what I have seen Choice Scarf Latios outspeeds powerful threats like Chlorophyll Venusaur and +2 Blaziken. It can also OHKO Genesect with Hidden Power Fire.

But you're looking at the the normal statistics. The 1337 statistics are what I'd look at since that's where the actual competition occurs.

Firstly, Harsha nice avatar.
Secondly, why is Mamoswine not being used? The top then most used Pokemon get 2HKO's by him... Tyranitar is used way too much, probably due to Chandelure. When I'm building a sand team, im more excited about trapping Chandelure as opposed to using Excadrill. Finally, WHY IS DITTO SO LOW IN USAGE? I think Tobes and I are the only ones that are using it. Your opponent can't set up if you have Ditto and if they do set up, Ditto has a good chance of destroying there team. Ditto is a catch all revenge killer(except for air ballon Excadrill). Ditto is just great...

The thing about Mamoswine's 2HKOing of the top 10 is that in this metagame, a lot of the time 2HKOs are not good enough. Sure not much can switch in, but when you do a decent chunk of damage only to be KOed in return, it's not always the ideal solution. Also as for V0x's wondering about why Deoxys-S is so low, look at the 1337 stats not the regular ones!

Harsha, your point is only relevant on the offensive mons. No competent player is switching Genesect or something along those lines into Mamoswine. But I've seen time and time again people switching in their defensive Politoed's on my Mamoswine only to realize that they're going to get 2hko'd even without rocks. The only thing that does a good job of taking on Mamoswine is Skarmory. every other commonly seen mon gets destroyed.

Also, mamoswine sometimes has a hard time finding a slot on a team. It doesn't have the stats to sweep outright, and while it has a good matchup against many of the top pokes, it doesn't really shut any of the down. Furthermore, it has heavy competition--excadrill and chomp are both (arguably better) physical ground types, breloom has priority and SD to go along with the priority as well as the super-effecive hit on excadrill, and it's not bulky enough to sponge hits even with thick fat. This leaves its only real niche its claim to ice shard and STAB ice attacks for gliscor and dragons, who aren't seeing as much usage as otherwise.
Happy to see jellicent getting the usage it deserves IMO. |

Yeah I have to agree about Jellicent. NixHex used it really well against me, and against most sand teams if it can come out at the right time, Excadrill and those Tyranitar that do not run Crunch (a lot go mixed now) are screwed. Will-O-Wisp, Scald, and Taunt are all good options against sand teams as they can prevent sweeps or straight up KO a lot of Pokemon.
I was surprised to see Garchomp out of the top 10, as it's simply one of the best sweepers in the tier. While it may suffer from a minor lack of Speed, its bulk and unpredictability make up for this exceptionally well. I think people need to give it more love, even if Sand Veil is annoying as hell.

I'm glad to see sun getting a bit more usage in the 1337 statistics, even if most of it was me. It really is quite dangerous, with Blaziken, Venusaur, and Volcarona smashing everything in sight; while Chandelure traps half the meta with the assistance of sun boosted Fire Blasts.
