![]() [Overview] -Kecleon just might be the one of, if not the, most bizarre Pokemon allowed in the VGC metagame -Able to learn an absolutely massive number of moves -Only Pokemon that can learn Fake Out, Sucker Punch, AND Trick Room -High Special Defense in a tier filled with special attackers is very welcome -However, has many setbacks -Low Defense and Speed -Bizarre ability that can either help or hinder it -However, if one plays their cards right, Kecleon can be an unexpected threat [SET] name: Priority move 1: Fake Out move 2: Sucker Punch / Shadow Sneak move 3: Return move 4: Protect / Trick Room item: Focus Sash nature: Brave evs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 Def [SET COMMENTS] -Fake Out allows its partner to set up whatever it wants -Sucker Punch deals with Ghost-types and can potentially score a KO if the foe is on its sash -However, Shadow Sneak can also serves this purpose, except it is more reliable because the opponent doesn't have to attack for its use -Return is a nice attack; however, it can loose its STAB easily due to Kecleon's ability -Protect compensates for Kecleon's low Defense -However, with a Sash it can also successfully set up Trick Room for its partners [ADDITIONAL COMMENTS] -252 in HP so it can live a few hits, 252 in Attack so that Sucker Punch hits hard, and 4 in Defense for the extra survivability -Its ability is extremely unique in that it can instantly change its resistances and weaknesses when hit by an attack, this can either be a help or a hindrance. -Trick Room supporters like Cresselia, Slowking, Dusclops, and Bronzong help -Hariyama, Conkeldurr, and Heatran deal with Steel-types that counter Kecleon -If Kecleon is using Trick Room, a Fake Out partner such as Scrafty, Hariyama, or Sableye helps make sure it sets it up -Dusclops and Sableye can burn foes with Will-o-Wisp, making Kecleon's meager Defense less of an issue -Because of its huge special bulk and unique ability, a partner could use Surf or Discharge to automatically change its typing, which could screw with an opponent's plans [Other Options] -HOLY CRAP THIS THING LEARNS A LOT OF MOVES -Alternate EV spread of 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SpD with a Sassy nature can be used, so that its fantastic Special Defense can be more emphasized and it can set up Trick Room easier [Checks and Counters] -Physical Attackers

2 Priority Attacks that aren't STAB?
move 1: Fake Out move 2: Sucker Punch / Shadow Sneak move 3: Return move 4: Protect / Trick Room It should look like this imo, as really, do you need 2 Un-STABed priority attacks from a Pokemon with only base 90 Attack? OO options include Brick Break, Feint, Recover, Skill Swap, Thunder Wave, and Trick, with Sitrus and Chople Berries as items, just to toss around ideas Also, mention an EV Spread of 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SpD with a Sassy nature so it can take more Special Attacks with that base 120 Special Defense and set up Trick Room more reliably

Is this really... usable? I realize that some pretty bad mons have gotten analyses before, but this is crossing the line.
Keckleon is far from an optimal setter. The optimal setter has huge bulk; it does not need to hit hard if its teammates do so for it. Cresselia and Dusclops are good mons in TR for a reason - both have stellar defenses. As a user of Fake Out, it is similarly outclassed. Pokemon like Hariyama, Hitmontop, and Scrafty all have various advantages that make them better than Kecleon - the first two vastly outdamage Kecleon and have better STABs (both have better abilities as well) while Scrafty has the benefit of both greater bulk and a nicer typing. I realize that it gets both on the same set, but is it really useful? There are two ways you can lead with it: with another mon that knows TR or with one that knows Fake Out / Rage Powder / Follow Me. If you're trying to help something else set up TR, why not use Hariyama, which has better typing, sufficient bulk, and far more Attack? If you're using TR, why not use something with more bulk or power (or, for that matter, both?). Cresselia, Dusclops, and Chandelure all call out to you.

Just because it's outclassed doesn't mean I shouldn't write an analysis on it. Hell, most of the analyses I've written so far are of mons that are easily outclassed. I just like to at least give mons like these a shot, Kecleon actually does have some of his unique characteristics, and while I agree he is outclassed, I still enjoy seeing people get creative with their mon choices. And Kecleon by far isn't useless, as you're kind of making him sound.
I'm still experimenting with this set on PO, I've got a bit to go before I get it to QC.

You know what actually
Testing out a bit more, I've found out this really isn't my mon. If anyone wants to take this over, just PM me. Otherwise, I'll just delete this, don't really feel the need in working on a mon that I don't particularly care for anymore.
