Default Weatherless OU

I started this team as a team that could counter the large amount of weather teams present in the BW metagame. The begining was a Fire/ Grass/ Water core because of its reliabilityin and out of weather. The first three pokes to go into the team were Rotom-W, Ferrothorn and Heatran. Next, for my offensive core i chose Salamence, Infernape and Kingdra because they are all very versilate pokes that can handle a lot of defensive threats each while offering ways around weather. After a little while of getting swept by sun teams due to the fact that many Venusaur run hp ground and losing to any team with choice band Terrakion, i deemed Heatran not worth the spot. He doesnt make up too much of the defensive core antway as fire is not a very important defensive type to have. i replaced him with a gyarados to patch up some holes i found against Breloom and then replaced Kingdra with Reuniclus to do more of the same. In the end i had more of a Water/ Water/ Grass core but its been working pretty well so far.

Infernape (M) @ Life Orb
Trait: Blaze
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SAtk / 252 Spd
Naive Nature (+Spd, -SDef)
- U-turn
- Stone Edge
- Overheat
- Close Combat

Infernape is one of my favorites as a mixed sweeper. its moveset counters many sweepers that are slower than it and can really give walls a hard time. People often underestimate the power of a Close Combat or Overheat coming off this thing and regret it. being able to OHKO Ferrothorn in the rain with Close Combat and take out Venusaur and Volcarona with one shot helps too. U-Turn helps to grab momentum quickly when i have the clear advantage as a lead choice. The only problem is that he usually wont last more than a few switches with hazards on the field and Life Orb.




Rotom-W @ Choice Specs
Trait: Levitate
EVs: 252 HP / 252 SAtk / 4 SDef
Modest Nature (+SAtk, -Atk)
- Hidden Power [Ice]
- Hydro Pump
- Volt Switch
- Trick

Choice Specs Rotom-W is a powerhouse. It hits from a big special attack and against rain Teams can OHKO almost anything they have that isn't immune to Hydro Pump. The best thing about this set is that with good prediction i can throw my Choice Specs onto an incoming wall to really give them a hard time and then Volt Switch out to something that can either take it out or something that can counter what they double switch in giving me the upper hand either way. On this set i use the bulky ev spread because after using trick i often find my self holding onto their leftovers and as part of my defensive core it needs to take a few hits and return them.




Salamence (M) @ Choice Scarf
Trait: Moxie
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SAtk / 252 Spd
Naughty Nature (+Atk, -SDef)
- Outrage
- Fire Blast
- Dragon Claw
- Earthquake

This guy is one of my two game finishers along side Reuniclus. with the choice scarf pushing me ahead of the entire unboosted meta and moxie raising my attack after a KO, i easily find myself plowing throught their weakened team towards the end of a game. I love to see their steels gone but if they're playing smart and conserving them i can sometimes bluff Outrage/Dragon Claw on something else they need and hit them with a Fire Blast or Earthquake on the swich. I choose to maximize attack over speed because it nets me a few good OHKOs without and attack boost when i first switch in.




Reuniclus (M) @ Life Orb
Trait: Magic Guard
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SDef
Bold Nature (+Def, -SpA)
- Psyshock
- Calm Mind
- Recover
- Focus Blast

Once Scizor is eliminated this guy has a blast. With his already massive Physical bulk and the Special bulk he gains from Calm Mind, he can be incredibly difficult to kill. Psyshock is there to kill Blissey and anything that wants to be Blissey and Focus Blast for coverage. He also counters the huge fighting types of gen 5 incredibly well. The Life Orb + Magic Guard combo is great for providing both longitivity and huge attack, something all tanks dream of. He also provides a fantastic switch in to any status that isnt sleep do to his invulerability to the damage and the attack drop from burn and speed drop from paralsys not hurting him at all.



Ferrothorn (F) @ Leftovers
Trait: Iron Barbs
EVs: 252 HP / 88 Def / 168 SDef
Impish Nature (+Def, -SAtk)
- Stealth Rock
- Protect
- Leech Seed
- Power Whip

Ferrothron is there to wall everything that cant 2HKO it at least. providing the stealth rock support is always a great thing to add to a team by itself not including its ability to wall and annoy with Leech Seed + Protect. Ferrothorns attack is also pretty heft against anything that it get super effective damage on. Leftovers is on over shed shell because i dont see too many Magnezone and with Leech Seed, the hp adds up fast and comes back quicky. Against rain teams this guy loves the absance of fire type attacks and just needs to go to Gyarados or Reuniclus for any Fighting threat.




Gyarados (F) @ Leftovers
Trait: Intimidate
EVs: 248 HP / 252 Def / 8 Spd
Impish Nature (+Def, -SAtk)
- Waterfall
- Dragon Tail
- Taunt
- Thunder Wave

I added Gyarados to cover my Fighting hole and it works marvelously. switching in with intimidate will drop any stat boost they tried and I can Thunder Wave on the switch out or cripple them if they stay. Dragon Tail works to get rid of anything a little too boosted for my liking that cant KO first along with rediculous Baton Pass teams that would otherwise bounce back all of your Roars and whirlwinds. Taunt works well in stopping any setups when its the last poke and Waterfall doesnt do significant damage. The Stealth Rock weakness isn't fun for a defensive poke

Thanks for reading and please post any and all help you might have. If anything i would like to replace Infernape and possibly Gyarados with more consistent, less entry hazard prone options.

I remember dat team :P, One reccomendation i could give is Brick break > Dragon claw on salamence, as you dont really need 2 dragon moves

There's really not anything (at least that I can think of off the top of my head) that Brick Break can take out that EQ + Fire Blast can't. Dragon Claw is for those situations where you just need to nab a kill or Scout when there's still a Counter lurking around on the opposing team whereas Outrage is for Late Game Moxie Sweeps.

Nice looking team man. Personally I agree with Brick Break over Dragon Claw. It is just my playstyle and I prefer not having two STAB moves. Otherwise great job!

alright thanks im gonna test brick break over dragon claw. Im not too surehow itll work but its worth a shot.

true, true... should have thought about it a bit more carefully lol. However he has Nape, Rotom, Renuiclus, and Gyara who can all handle Heatran quite well. plus after the Balloon is popped he's no longer an issue for the current Mence.

Brick Break is still a good choice, however considering his Team I don't think he should be scared of any Heatran lol

yea brick break isnt really working. i hate having to outrage early in the game to revenge kill a dragon
