I know I can't win every WSC but let's stop this craziness right here.

Let's compare these two sprites and see the quality of the piece.

Why does the orange patten make no coherent sense?
Why does the outline not cut out some of the wasteful pixels on diagonal lines to create a sharper image?
What is with those two fire tails at the bottom sides, where did the one on the left come from, why are they so long, what is with the grey on their outline?
What is with that random orange splot on the body and forehead?
Why are the wing holes so awful?

I know not everybody is a spriter, but every sprite ought to be examined in a more critical eye. The mark of quality for many of these sprites should be the changes from the original but how they remain faithful to the style of spriting we expect from the games.

Congratulations to the flexistentialist for winning in his first WSC. While the sprite wasn't perfect, as Layell kindly pointed out, it was great for a first sprite and we look forward to seeing him improve :)
