MK's Infernape, Chimera
Engi's Crobat, Kozu
Hoof's Voodoom, Stasis
It's dark, you know that for sure. You're also rumbling and bumping along, so you're probably in some sort of truck. The floor beneath you is cold and metallic, and you can hear other mons around you. A large bump tosses you to the side—you hit bars! You're in a cage! Better to keep cool, rather than fire off attacks when you can't see. The truck is slowing down now, though, and then it backs up. You must have arrived... somewhere! The door opens, and it takes some time for your eyes to adjust. A man in a typical lab coat hoists the door open and releases an Altaria, who begins to hum softly. Try as you might, the sleeping song overtakes you, just as the crates begin to move. ... Awakening groggy and bruised, you find yourself still in your cage. Looking around, you find it to be rather spacious—easily ten feet to a side. The room around you is big enough to hold about three of your cage side-by-side in both directions, and the ceiling is very high. Everything is bleached white, and fluorescent lights line the room, high on each wall. Your cage is the only one in the room. You don't know where the other cages from the truck are. There is a wide opening in one wall (of the room, not the cage) that leads to what appears to be a hallway. You can hear pacing from the hallway, but you haven't seen what's pacing yet. MK, Engi, and Leethoof discuss courses of action.

Go through the door and scout whatever's in the Hallway, don't be seen.

You can't quite fit your head through. Your arm fits fine, though.

Best to be safe and figure things out before diving in recklessly. Detect [Source of Pacing] - What can I discern about it? Heavy or light footsteps? Multiple footsteps in quick succession, or slow, occasional ones? |

Okay let me get you a description of your cages. Watch this space.
Kozu Your cage is about ten feet by ten feet, and its bars are in a diagonal cross pattern on all four sides. The top and bottom are both solid. Looks like this was custom-built to hold you, specifically! Chimera Your cage is about three and a half meters to a side, and its bars vertical on all four sides. The top and bottom are both solid. It's made of a non-metallic, heat-resistant material that bends rather than breaking. Looks like this was custom-built to hold you, specifically! Stasis Your cage is about ten feet by ten feet, and its bars vertical on all four sides. The top and bottom are both solid. Everything is sheathed in rubber, and a grounding cable runs from the bottom into the floor. Looks like this was custom-built to hold you, specifically! On the front of each of your cages is a small pad, that seems to accept a card of some sort. Kozu's Detect The pacing slowly recedes and then draws closer again. It's rather rapid, so whoever it is must be short. The steps sound padded.

Chimera's Brick Break [bars]
Getting to work on the bars, you start to chop, punch, twist, and pull. They give a bit, and then bend back. They don't bend all of the way back, though, so you're making progress. Given enough time you could probably bend them wide enough for you to slip through, but that's a lot of time to ask for.

Double Team (1), ensuring that my clone pops up outside of the cage. Then, pace around inside of the cage, allowing my clone to investigate the surroundings. See if it can cause any traps or somewhat to activate. |

In order to leave a clone somewhere, you have to be able to move there, since it's about leaving behind afterimages.

Short and with padded footsteps... Persian, perhaps? Regardless, I should escape as soon as possible; the researchers won't be doing me any favors. Screech - Make it as harsh and keen as you can. The more scared we can make whatever is out there, the better. Following that, I should try and make my escape as well. Timing it right after the Screech will be the best chance I have... with any luck, those cage-builders won't have seen this coming; what type of person expects a bat like me to shoot wild waves of flame and heat? The more we can melt and bend the bars, the better our chances of escaping this infernal cage are. Heat Wave [Cage Bars] - Do whatever you can with the Heat Wave to bend / melt the bars. Let's escape. |

In that case, I'll get working on this cage. I'll pull out my pin, and begin Night Slashing away at some of the rubber bars. Gotta get out, worry about the pacing later. |

Kozu's Screech and Heat Wave
You unleash a piercing, shattering cry as loud as you can muster. It echoes around and eventually fades, and is met with spoken response from outside! "Hey! Don't make me come in there!" It's a deep, growling voice, and most definitely not a human. Figuring to get their attention further and cause some trouble, you begin to whip up heated air to burn down the cage. As the cage heats up, convection starts to kick in, raising the temperature all around your cage, and inside it as well! The cardpad on your cage begins to beep just as it gets unbearable, and sprinklers kick in above, dousing the heat and stirring up a lot of steam before turning back off. Being Poison-type, you can see just fine through it, but it will be an issue to melt the cage down if the sprinklers are set to respond to heat. Stasis' Night Slash Slashing and swiping with your pin, you find that the rubber only sheaths iron bars. You can cut the rubber rather handily and peel it away, but it leaves (admittedly rather thin) bars behind.

Well, this isn't going to work. I'm unsure if my chi energy is capable of destroying that iron bar. However, that card pad...it's worth a shot. Take my pin, reach through the bars, and swipe the pad. Then, I'll send a Thunder Wave through my pin. That should take care of any electronics in the pad, hopefully opening this cage!

Deep growling voice? Alright, that's definitely not a Persian. An electronic pad and sprinklers, though... what will short-circuiting the pad do to the cage? We can comfortably fit inside the cage without touching the bars, so luckily we have no fear of electrocution if that does happen, heh. Okay then, here goes nothing! Heat Wave - Keep the heat going; perhaps all that water coming down can short-circuit the pad and cause something to happen! |

Stasis' Thunder Wave [Card Pad]
Sending a jolt from your pin into the pad, you find that nothing happens. However, you're not perturbed yet. Jabbing the pin inside the device's casing, you shock it again. There's a high-pitched squeal from the device, and then a click from the cage. Before you know it, one full side of your containment has fallen off and crashed into the floor. You're free! Kozu's Heat Wave Pleased with your own wit, you generate more heat. The sprinklers kick in right on schedule, and you flap a bit faster to keep up with the chilled water. The card pad begins to beep faster and faster, sparks a few times, then squeals and dies down. The side of your cage falls clean off! You're free, too! The sprinklers cut out, now that the pad is dead. Chimera (update) It took some doing, but you've bent a hole in your bars large enough for you to fit your head through. The rest of your simian body follows with no difficulty. You're also free! Everyone The crashing of cage doors has echoed around the hallway, and the pacing has stopped. Whatever's out there is very alert, now. There's water on the floor in both your room and the hallway, but it has no appreciable depth at the moment.

Well, that's good. No need to get greedy and charge forward like an idiot. I think its time for lights-out. I should be able to see fine, and the confusion should allow the other Pokemon, if there are any, to escape. I'll just Charge my pin, and toss it up to the roof with a Pin Missile. That should short-circuit some of the lights, at least, if not the whole grid. |

Excellent. It's time to take to the air; I really can't walk on the ground very well... Fly - Take a peek outside the room and come back quickly, hopefully avoiding detection. What do I see? |

Kozu's Fly
You see this: Only after you flit back in to your room do you hear, "What was that?" Stasis' Charge, Pin Missile You've successfully shorted out one light. Your pin drops back down in front of you. There are dozens of lights in the ceiling, though, and that's just your room. Maybe this isn't the best idea.

A Granbull, eh? That's nothing I can't handle; I may as well be cautious, though, as there's no telling what other things I'll be meeting... Haze - Spread the black mist around to obscure the Granbull's vision. |

Chimera
Bracing yourself quietly, you lean the slightest bit into the hallway. The hallway isn't quite as long as you thought. Looking around, there are four openings in the hallway, two on your side and two across the hall. One of these leads your room, of course, but the other rooms attached to this hallway look much the same. There's a Granbull here, facing away from you at the moment, and past the Granbull is a set of stairs leading up at the end of the hallway. You can't see where the stairs go. Kozu's Haze The smoke you've generated definitely has Granbull spooked—he retreats upstairs at the first sign of a breach. Is he running, or fetching help? Either way, it can be presumed that he is a guard dog, so clearly someone doesn't want you running around freely.

Everyone
Taking a deep breath, you move out into the hallway. You find your room to be one of four attached to this hallway—two on one side and two on the other. The doors to the rooms stand level with one another, and there is a set of stairs at one end of the corridor. You can't see where the stairs go. More important, however, are two other mons who run into the hallway at the same time. Apparently, they were contained the same way as you were, and broke out just about the same way. The fourth adjacent room, which didn't hold any of you three, turns out to be empty, save for a large, empty cage. This cage is much larger than any of yours, mind. Now, where are you all, exactly? None of you have any idea where this place is, or where your Trainers are. Yes, these "two other mons" are the other players. MK needed clarification.
