Who is Cartoons!?

My original design on Smogon was to post and run gifbombs with the intention of subverting the youth through violence and stupidities. I'd done gone hooked with CAP and have since directed my efforts to working for the good of the community through art and theological rants.

Achievements!

The Smog has hosted some of my work, and I've been happy to contribute to CAP and occasionally win the hearts of the people with my designs. Battle Capacity was born of my zeal for the project.

Who is Wyverii?

Moderator of Create a Pokémon (CaP) and sprite art specialist.

I mostly hang out on IRC and stay within the CaP section on the smogon forums. I dabble in a wide range of arts and have a keen interest in ornithology. I occasionally get poked into making an art thread on the forums, but I do have a tendency to let them die.

Achievements!

Pixel art used in sections of the CaP site. Also participates in design and spritework for CaP and helps with non-contest artwork such as sprite animation.

Unfortunately, I'm not going to be able to add/cache any more to the SCMS for a few days; there's another Smogon project going on that I'm heavily involved in. As soon as that project is complete, I'll get back to these immediately and get them uploaded. Keep on pumping out those profiles, artists. They're fantastic!

Who is RitterCat?

Hi! Although I only started doing art for the site in early 2012, I've been involved in the Smeargle's scene for much longer. After lurking for 6 months, I started my art thread, and it's been going nearly constantly since then. I love drawing, which I do constantly, and Smogon is great as I can draw for the Smog or onsite articles or even just avatar requests! In Smeargle's Studio I also run the Weekly Spriting Contest with my co-host Rodan, and in other areas of the site, I am a member of the Grammar-Prose Team, and spend a lot of my time in various irc channels.

Achievements

I have an artist badge for my work in The Smog, a golden luvdisc (currently 83 in total) on my art thread, and have placed second in the Monthly Art Contest.

Who is Danmire?

¡Hola! ¿Cómo estás? I'm Danmire. I've been on the site since 2010 since learning about it from my non-competitive days on Shoddy Battles(right when I left competitive battling and THEN rejoined). I joined for the battles, but stayed for the art. I've been making art for the site since late 2011' and have loved contributing ever since. I've always enjoyed being in Smeargle's Studio and it feels like one big happy family. I've met many good friends and have matured in both my art and my manners. I'm currently studying a major in Arts animations and I can't wait to contribute stuff like that to the site.

Introduction


I'm probably one of the less well known artists around here, but I've been frequenting these forums since late 2008. Most of you would recognise me as a WiFier or C&C moderator, but I also dabble in art as well. I got involved with the art scene thanks to macle's art for articles project, and later on got involved with The Smog. I was quite inexperienced at first and got rejected numerous times, but after a lot of practice and guidance from other, more experienced artists, I was well on my way to creating some presentable artwork. I'd like to think of my art as simplistic, cute, and colourful, and I hope to keep improving in the future. I'm still relatively new to being an artist, and I hope to show that ANYBODY can draw with a bit of practice.

As far as achievements go, I've contributed a few pieces of artwork to The Smog and various articles around the site, and I run my own art thread. There isn't a lot to say for the time being, but I hope to expand on this in the future.

Who is Bummer?

I'm a dude who has both been drawing and playing pokémon early on, but only in recent years have I decided to combine those two interests into one. I use both a tablet and a scanner in my work, while Photoshop CS2 is my right hand for creating and polishing my images. I've known about Smogon for a long time, and I made my own thread in Smeargle's Studio when I began to crave feedback for my work, as well as taking an opportunity to get to know my audience. I started to post in other threads, get familiar with people, and in the end I wanted to give something back to the community which had treated me well.

I have no professional art education though. I work as a licensed clinical laboratory scientist, so my actual job is entirely different ahaha. I'm a swede, born and raised, so that affects how available I can be on the forums and IRC. Not much of a competitive battler though, but right now I'm dipping my feet into the NU tier and we'll see if I can get around swimming or not.

Achievements

I can hold my breath for 116 seconds.

I also earned the artist badge for my contributions to the 21th issue of The Smog.

Oh, and I run and manage a pokémon webcomic, Rare Candy Treatment.

Hey, I can't really post an announcement in this forum, but I wanted to share something really great with all of you. I've really had my hands tied down in other parts of Smogon, so uploading these has been a struggle for me. Thankfully, we're calling in reinforcements. User sandshrewz has been promoted to Site Staff to help us finish uploading these! He's our go-to guy for getting Smeargle's Studio stuff uploaded on site. I'll, of course, still be lending a hand whenever I can. Just understand that shrewz has a great grasp on HTML and art, so this is something really beneficial to all of us.

Between the two of us, we're gonna get these all updated within the next few days. If you haven't submitted a profile yet, hop to it!

Hiya! Sorry for the double post.

sandshrewz and I have been going to town on these. The results can be seen here. What I've done is removed all inactive artists so that all of the current pages have actual content on them! Whenever another artist writes their profile, it can easily be added into the main table of contents. Again, if you have an Artist badge and you haven't written one of these yet, hop to it!

If you can see the SCMS, note that the old profiles are located in the trash bin. If you need those for some reason, talk with me and we can get them undeleted within the next thirty days.

Congratulations to our 3 new Artist Badgers ium, ToxicPhox, and elcheeso!! What this also means is that you now get to write your own Artist Profiles! Be sure to write up and post your profiles here and I will GP and upload them on-site! Thanks and congratulations once again! That's not a bad format though, it really looks great. I'd like it too! I'd also want to change a minor thing. In my profile where I say that I'm in Computer Arts Animation, I just changed my major to Architecture, so I was hoping it can be changed.

ABOUT ROCKET GRUNT

Rocket Grunt was mostly active in Smeargle's Studio from April 2009 to August 2010. During this time he was not attending school, but worked a few shitty jobs and was involved in some small acting and voice-over projects. Eventually he got his shit straight and re-enrolled. He doesn't post drawings on the internet as often, but still wastes a lot of time playing Minecraft and other games on Steam when he's not doing homework. You might have seen some of his drawings on *chan websites or Reddit.

The first bunch of his images posted on Smogon were done on an oekaki board with a mouse. Later he got his hands on a Wacom tablet and also started scanning pencil sketches. Sometimes he combines scanned drawings with color through Adobe Photoshop. Most of them feature a warm muted palette, but show a loose grasp of depth and weight. He tends to be heavy-handed in textures and is rarely meticulous enough to include a background. He has an immature sense of humor, likes exaggerated facial expressions, and his line drawings are whippy and gestural.


ACHIEVEMENTS

Rocket Grunt has contributed images for Smogon's webzine The Smog since its beginning in May 2009. He received his badge that following July. He attends a notable art and design school in New York City. His sign is Gemini and he enjoys long walks on the beach and strawberry ice cream.
