When Gyara uses Dodge against Krill it should fail because it gives a -7% accuracy drop. This means that the whole combo fails (but is still attempted), so Krill uses Trick ~ Thunderbolt ~ Thunderbolt and Gyara just uses Body Slam A3. Which leaves (by my calcs) Gyara at 60 HP/93 En, burned and possibly paralysed, and Krill at 112 HP/75 En. Which makes quite a difference.

It fails to dodge, you are right about that (meaning A2 and A3 = Thunder, which has been changed). But it doesn't fail to Taunt. The way I see it, Gyarados is there flying pointlessly while taunting Krillowatt. Due to the speed difference and size, Gyarados can't dodge the attack when it happens, but as you said, the move is attempted, the motions are done, the harsh words are said and I can't see how the fact that Dodge doesn't change the accuracy in this situation affects the Taunt, as they are two different things. His size and what-not don't affect the Taunt and the dodge move IS attempted and Gyarados acts (and says the taunting words) at priority 3 regardless of the actual success of the dodge itself.

Feel free to get a ruling saying otherwise. But on the meanwhile, you are up.

A combo with one half failing is supposed to fail overall because the two moves are supposed to be executed together in one really powerful move, which couldn't exist without either move. The fact that this one isn't like that really says that it probably shouldn't be an allowed combo. But the rule still applies.

This means that the whole combo fails (but is still attempted), so Krill uses Trick ~ Thunderbolt ~ Thunderbolt and Gyara just uses Body Slam A3. Which leaves (by my calcs) Gyara at 60 HP/93 En, burned and possibly paralysed, and Krill at 112 HP/75 En. Frosty Join Date: Mar 2008 Posts: 3,186	It fails to dodge, you are right about that (meaning A2 and A3 = Thunder, which has been changed). But it doesn't fail to Taunt. The way I see it, Gyarados is there flying pointlessly while taunting Krillowatt. Due to the speed difference and size, Gyarados can't dodge the attack when it happens, but as you said, the move is attempted, the motions are done, the harsh words are said and I can't see how the fact that Dodge doesn't change the accuracy in this situation affects the Taunt, as they are two different things. His size and what-not don't affect the Taunt and the dodge move IS attempted and Gyarados acts (and says the taunting words) at priority 3 regardless of the actual success of the dodge itself. Feel free to get a ruling saying otherwise. But on the meanwhile, you are up. __________________ ASB Profile
