Unofficial Tiers

We have so much activity on Pokemon Showdown that I feel comfortable defining "OU" lists for a few other metagames. Treat these as "threat lists" for the various metagames, or use them to play "UU" versions of the metagames by banning these Pokemon.

  • In Suspect OU but not Standard OU: Amoonguss, Bronzong, Garchomp, Gothitelle
Take this with a grain of salt (don't assume that a SV-banned / Chomp-allowed metagame would necessarily be this much more centralized), as people on the Suspect ladder are more likely just wanting to try out 'Chomp & pals.

Metagame Analyses
Using my stalliness metric, I feel comfortable this month differentiating between the playstyles of Heavy Offense, Offense (which includes Bulky Offense), Balance, Semi-Stall and Stall.

Note that if you're comparing the stalliness distributions from last month, I've revised the metric a bit since then, so they're not 100% comparable.

Also note that under playstyles, I've also defined things like "rain offense" to correspond to rain + heavy offense (rain + full stall = "rain stall").

Thanks antar. Yes! cofag is out of ru. Now ru will be fun again. It's a shame chansey didn't drop to uu.. =/ At least we got virirzion, meloetta, mew, and tornadus!

Meloetta in UU will be fun to play with. I always thought it would match better in that metagame, anyway. With Cofagrigus there instead of RU, also, that makes my mostly physical RU team much happier.

I couldn't ask for more detailed stats.

-Genesect is 5 in usage. Not for long, haha.
-So Mew's back in UU... welp. I'm going to abuse the hell out of that thing. can't say i'm mad, i really like mew :)
-Heracross assumes its position as KING of UU, Ambipom breaks into #13 (really?) and a few good Pokemon are still underutilized. Same old, same old.
-I must have done something really good in the karmic cosmic scale as Chansey is STILL OU. Awesome.
-Ferrothorn's at #2, Tornadus-T's nowhere near where it should be and a few Pokemon like Latias are ridiculously underused in the OU tier. Same old, same old for OU too.

Virizion and Tornadus-I in UU?

I just HAVE to play UU now, I have to.

Absol didn't make it to RU? NOOOOOOOOOOO! Absol, you were so close!

Cofagrigus is finally gone. Now I can enjoy RU without him.

And...well. Thank goodness nothing dropped from RU (other than Metang, goddamnit)

Things look grim for Mienshao now that Mew, Meloetta, and Torn-I are here. Could he wind up dropping down to RU? (Oh no). This is gonna contradict my Showdown username (Mienshao is Pro).

Well, that's all I have to say.

A surprising lack of movements...

I'm shocked Amoongus stayed NU, I really wanted that thing and the Regen Core of Amoongus/Alo to GTHO.

Seriously, for us NU'ers, the only change is Metang is back. And anyone good at NU knows Metang sucks anyway.

You can still use it in RU if you wish, haha.

Somewhat disappointed in the lack of drops for NU since Metang isn't a real drop. Maybe next time around. :/

Absol was so close to moving up to RU, I was hoping it would move up any time now.

Guess I'll have to wait another 3 months which is January :S.

With Cofagrigus moving to UU, there's should be space enough for Absol as I can't see Stoutland hanging around RU for long.

One less ghost in RU, does that mean an opportunity for Golurk to move up to RU? It's no-guard set with dynamic punch is pretty useful combined with Stealth Rock that can't be spun away while it's on the battlefield.

I've play all the main tiers besides UU, and I've never played UU before, but all these cool ex-OU pokemon in the tier, I'm interested now. I wonder how the Power-up berries will affect the tiers in the next 3 months. Will Petaya Berry Emploleon make a return? Belly-drum sub Salac Chrizard Scorch NU?

Nothing went up to OU, but now UU should be even more fun than it already was. Tornadus-I is going to cause a lot of usage drops now. People have been mentioning Mienshao going down in usage, but I think Heracross might lose its top spot next month as #1 in UU because of the new additions to UU.

I find it kind of sad that the top three or four pokemon are almost always on the same team...
