Default Pelipper

I played Pokemon Ruby for the first time in 2010. I didn't know what any of the new Pokemon were, and I was beyond excited when I saw my first Wingull. I live on the coast of Maine, so I'm pretty fond of Seagulls as it is. When that thing evolved into Pelipper I was the happiest guy on Earth, mostly because it's one of the goofiest looking Pokemon I have ever seen. I decided to train that beast to level 100 and beat the whole elite four with it. Soon after I did this, my friend texted me and asked for a ride to the tattoo parlor. She said that if I bring her, she'd buy me a tattoo. Completely impulse, but I got a nice big Pelipper on my arm. And to this day I still love it.

In BW, I lost in a multi battle using a lv50 competitive team while my opponents were using lv100 Ubers. I then proceeded to sweep one 6-0 when we were on the same level. I had to explain to my opponents why I only have level 50 pokemon and I think I got through to them somewhat that level isn't everything.

Back when Pokemon Red came out was when I was a toddler. My mom offered me a gameboy and pokemon red version as a reward for becoming potty trained. Wanting to play pokemon so bad, I learned in three days. I didn't beat the elite four for another four years, when I decided to buckle down and play. I later got a blue version, one I have never played, and have still yet to finish. I've been playing pokemon ever since.

I remember when Pokemon Gold and Silver came out and my sister ended up getting the game before me and my brother and my brother and I were really excited to see the new pokemon in the game and knew that Gold was able to trade back to Red and Blue version so we decided to steal her game and attempt to trade back like 5 HootHoots to Red version.

I was watching my brother who was new to Pokémon battling Watson in Ruby. Watson's Magneton was destroying his entire team, but my brother managed to paralyze it with stun spore. His last Pokémon was Wingull that was level 22. With Wingull's speed, he managed to parafusion his Magneton. While he was spamming water gun, the Magneton was hurt in confusion 3 times, and paralyzed twice. Wingull managed to win the battle, growing 3 levels, and evolving to Pelipper. Was very entertaining to watch, and my brother was the most excited person ever!

I remember once, thinking "We the hell do we bother throwing a first pokeball at legendaries. It's not like they every actually get caught on the first ball anyways". I thought this, of course, while playing Platinum, and of course, caught Giritina with the first ball i threw at it... a pokeball.

It happened back in 2002 (I was in second grade),when I got a hold of blue version. I enjoyed the game, but up until I needed to go to Cinnabar Island, I didn't know how to get there. I found out I needed surf. I searched everywhere, but with no luck, I almost give up. I thought to myself "wouldn't it be stupid if surf HM was in the Safari Zone", so I want deep into the Safari Zone and found a house, inside was a person that gave me the SURF HM! I jumped for Joy.

Getting my first pokemon game, Yellow Version. It came with this special edition gameboy color that had pickachu, pichu, and togepi on it. Pikachu's cheek would light up when you turn it on. A year later I had the Hey You Pikachu N64 that did the same thing.

I was just grinding up my Torterra as usual. So I find another Electabuzz, only it's not yellow like usual. I just thought, "That's weird" and I was about to use earthquake when it hit me. IT'S FUCKiNG SHiNY. I screamed at the top of my lungs "FUCK YEAH!" Then I just started throwing Ultra balls, caught it, and like any good pokemon player, checked the nature. I missed my bus for a brave Electabuzz.

Default The Reunion

I had a group of friends that I grew up with. When high school came around, we started to grow apart and didn't see each other that much. I had shoulder surgery and was down for a while, started to play a rom of platinum. My friends saw my playing and wanted to get in. Eventually we all started playing, which is how we got into competitive play. Now we’re hanging out again, thanks to pokemon. And this upcoming Christmas break, we are getting tattoos of the logos on energy cards on our backs. This is mine.

My best Pokemon experience would have to be catching a shiny Darkrai in Pokemon Platinum. I was really lucky, because it was only my 500th reset or so. I caught it with a dusk ball, and although it had a jolly nature, I added it to my Wifi Ubers team. He's been a faithful member of it ever since.

Well, you see. This is a very tragic story, but I'll tell it anyway. It's good to vent. Anyways, I was playing Pokemon Red on my school bus and then the bus burst into flames. While I was still playing my game, I noticed I was the only person left in the bus. Gasping for air, I ventured to the door. It was burned shut! While I saw my life flash before my eyes, Pikachu jumped out of my purple Game Boy Color and shocked the door open, allowing me to live another day. Thank you, Pikachu. Thank you.

The moment when I first successfully done one of the hardest/most time-consuming types of RNG abuse - R/S live battery. When that shiny Latias appeared, then when I captured and it was indeed Timid penta-flawless. She appeared on the second attempt, and it was from a legitmate Eon Ticket (thanks lucariojr!).

Later I ended up getting all 65 possible ribbons on her. Man that took a while.

If I CMT in your thread please respond in mine. If I really wanted a Pokémon that is more common than herpes, I'd get it myself from Pokécheck.

There is just so much to say that I could write for hours, but I will respect the 100 word limit and keep this brief.

When I began playing "competitive Pokemon" I was 12 years old. I thought Pokemon would be a passing phase. However, here I am, 19 years old, still playing, and I wouldn't have it any other way. Because of Pokemon I was able to meet the love of my life, the most amazing girl in the world who I am proud to call my fiancé. I don't have a specific experience to write about, because these years have all been equally amazing and I am so thankful for what I have today, which would not have been possible without Pokemon.

Thanks for reading.

It was a beautiful Saturday morning. I woke up, as my eyes were just about to see the light of another day, all I saw was a bright white light. The first thought in my head was, am I in the crevasse between this world and the next? It was then that I realized, it was just a Grumpig using Flash. What happened next you ask? I had some marvelous bacon for breakfast...

My story is actually 120 words but it is hard to write this story in under 100, but I'd like to share this story regardless.

When I was about 8 I was at the Mayo Clinic with my Grandma. We were waiting for a shuttle to take us back to the hotel when I noticed these two younger boys playing Pokemon Crystal version. I was so jealous because It was the newest game. After a while they put their gameboy down and began to run around the lobby. Eventually, their mother called and they boarded a shuttle without their gameboy. I wrestled with good and evil and finally, last minute, I picked up the gameboy and ran to the shuttle as the door was closing to give the gameboy back! A week later, my grandma bought me Pokemon Crystal as a gift for my honesty.

Thanks for reading!

about 2 years ago i was suffering through a deep depression, i was honestly close to comitting suicide. i had really nothing; no friends, nothing to do with my time. it was around then i rediscovered smogon and its community - i felt like i belonged somewhere, and i went to my parents for help and now im an incredibly happy individual, im still on antidepressants but thats beside the point

tl;dr i would probably be dead without smogon

When I was starting out my first run of Diamond, I encountered a Bidoof, and, being the Pokemon Master that I am, captured it. I pondered a nickname for this creature, when all of a sudden, my youngest brother, who was eight years old at the time, notices the sprite of the monster and says "What a doofus!” The name stuck, and Bidoofus enjoyed the comfort of Box1 for the rest of the game.

I loved Pokemon so much. Like most players here, I start from RBY. I remember years ago, I used only one Magikap to sweep through the DP Elite 4. I had done that by baton pass strategy. That was lots of fun. Later in the same year, I also won the first runner-up in a local community tournament. I got some luck yeah. Now I spend less time on Pokemon, but I still love you, because I know Black 2 is coming for me.

I have always loved Pokémon ever since I grew up on the 1st generation games. I was ecstatic when I got Stadium to use in conjunction with my Blue version. I played those games for years, and I never completely beat the Stadium mode. Years later, when my interest in all things Pokémon spiked, I decided to go back and beat it. Sadly, my Blue cart had died. At this point, I drove to the local game store, bought a new Blue cart, and started over. Beating the whole R2 Stadium made me feel like I completed my childhood dream.
