The NU Sweet Potato Award for Excellent Posting

Welcome NU posters!

The moderation staff have decided that it's high time some incentive for posting in this fine forum was brought back. We want to recognise all of our excellent posters, and the constant efforts they put into our forum. As such, we are introducing the (Sweet) Poster of the Arbitrary Time Period (SPotATp or Sweet Potato) award! The posting periods will be flexible, and we anticipate them to be around one to two weeks. If you win this award, your name will be featured in this thread as well as the NU Hall of Fame for all to see, along with links to several of your #winning posts. Winning this award multiple times can lead to some other future awards, and maybe even some pretty pixels in your postbit.

What defines a good poster, you may ask? Well, I'll try to break down a list of criteria. Please note that this list is by no means exhaustive, but it should give you a good idea on how to succeed:

Make quality posts. Overall, your posts should be worth reading. Readers of your posts will gain insight about the topic at hand or the metagame in general. You participate in projects and help out in the Simple Questions / Answers thread. Your posts are coherent and to the point. Your posts are mature. I'm not saying you're a statue and you have to be stoic, but there is a place for humor. You know how to use it in moderation.
Know and follow the rules. You don't create new threads just to ask a question. You don't flame other users or act like an idiot. You don't whine about banning / unbanning stuff. You check to see if a thread about (insert Pokemon/Item/Move/whatever) has not already been made or is not already active. You don't necro bump posts.
Keep out of trouble. You don't have any active infractions.

If you can follow these simple rules and use your common sense, you are already on your way to being a SWEET Potato!

NixHex is cool and prodded us into doing this, and should also be given credit for parts of this post!

The NU Community is a great place for people looking to get involved in the Smogon community. There are many users who have gotten badges for their posts here. These are the kind of people you should try to be like, as they represent the community very well. In particular noobtamerchris, who's work with the neverused community has been nearly unmatched. Being one of our first community contributors!

The mods of NU will be keeping a close eye on good posters, you will not go unnoticed!

I have a suggestion/Question. Would you consider including NU RMTs into this? Like having best, most creative,etc RMTs win points. I would imagine this would be easily fitted into this and other similar systems.

We have our first Sweet Potato! Congratulations to Full2Half! This week Full2half was a definite leader of discussion in the forum, being a major participant in research group #5, with posts here, and here. He also participated in the NU Teambuilding thread, with posts here, and here. He even participated in the np thread, as seen here. Congratulations again Full2Half, your work in the forum is very appreciated!

We also have 2 honourable mentions: Xei Won Toh and FLCL. Both made some great posts and have been noticed!

Thank you everyone for helping make NU a great place, your hard work has not gone unnoticed, keep on posting! There is a Sweet Potato in all of you

Wow, wasn't really expecting it, but i think i'll take it. (I realize late post is late but ive been busy the last few days and im in a rush :p) I'll continue to keep posting the same quality etc etc. Should be easy with new stats and underdog and stuff.

So another arbitrary period of time has passed, and we have our second Sweet Potato! Congratulations to EBeast for winning this time around, after contributing in a number of different threads. The new NFE thread saw major contributions from our Sweet Potato, sparking the thread into life. The Teambuilding Thread also owes much of its recent activity to EBeast, and even Project Neverused appears to be back from the dead. There were a number of other quality posts made by EBeast, so congratulations and keep up the great work!

Special mentions go to Elgy96 for taking initiative and starting two decent discussion threads, and Sweet Jesus for continuing to post well. Do we have some potential new Sweet Potatoes here?

Sorry for the delay, but we've decided on a new Sweet Potato! After some discussion, we've decided to award Sweet Jesus. Sweet Jesus has had many very high quality posts in the past few weeks, such as in the Unusual Items on Standard Sets thread, he also had a great nomination in my thread, The Best Pokemon in NU, as well as in the Pokemon of the Week thread. This isn't all of Sweet Jesus' posts, its just the last few that have really stood out, he has made many great posts since Ebeast's victory 2 weeks ago. Congratulations Sweet Jesus!

An honourable mention to Annoyer this week, who really forced us to discuss the award, it was really close! Keep on contributing!
