Default Wanted: Zekrom Level 9 or Under

WHY? WHY?!

Is there some kind of conspiracy? Is there some kind of web community for Pokemon trolls? Do people think this is funny, or are people REALLY dumb enough to think they're gonna get Lv.1 Zekrom & Reshiram? I just gotta ask, because the GTS is is more flooded with these impossible-to-fill requests than it ever was in Gen 4.

Scolipede Level 9 or Under
Vanilluxe Level 9 or Under
Dewott Level 9 or Under

I see these all the time... at least, if people were asking for Lv.100 Pokemon constantly, I wouldn't feel as cheated. At least somebody could actually complete the trade.

Why is this going on? Why is it so ubiquitous? Why hasn't Game Freak done anything about it...

Sorry if this is a dumb thread idea, but I just gotta ask. Why do people do this? Why is this a worldwide phenomenon? I gotta tell you, if anything has tempted me to buy a flash cart, it's this. I would clean house like nobody's business with a couple boxes full of Lv.1 Zekrom & Reshiram... but that's besides the point, and I wouldn't do it anyway.

Wait...would you or not? Make up your mind!

Anyways, I don't really remember when was the last time I used the GTS-two/three years ago maybe?- but I always seem to hear people complain about it all the time.

I think there are a few reasons why this occurs, so in no particular order:

1. Ignorant players. I think that a great portion of players that use the GTS or little kids who don't know what the heck they are doing. Maybe their little minds tell them it could be possible to optain such pokemon so they decide to give them a try, I mean why not?

2. Showing off. I don't really know why, but it seems like some people decide to put their pokemon for grabs just to show it off. That's why they ask for impossible trades; that way they know they won't lose their precious pokemon. Silly, but it could be one of the factors.

3. Trolls. There's people out there whose whole purpose in life is making others mad. They ask for silly stuff just to see think about how mad you'll get when you realized how close you were to get the pokemon you have been looking for months.

I think that would be about it. I mean, if you're really know what you're doing and want to get a trade done, why would you ask for something impossible to get?

I don't trade much but I was trading recently and I had this problem almost every time I searched for anything. This is why I don't bother searching for things I want anymore. Usually if I REALLY want to trade I just breed a ton of 5th gen starters and ask for what I want that way. People seem to love starters (probably to complete their pokedex, or maybe just because they are more popular/featured in more merchandise than most non-starters) and I can usually make a trade relatively quickly, depending on what I ask for in return.

I almost locked this thread and told you to go to Simple Questions/Requests in Wi-Fi.

I do know that in gen 4, setting up an impossible request would make it harder for people to snipe your Pokemon when you're trying to use the GTS cloning glitch. However, for this generation, I don't really have a clue.

Just use Pokecheck to get stuff you need.

People do it just to piss other people off, mainly.

i think that it's little kids looking for the pokemon but they dont realize that they have to select the level of the pokemon they want. isn't under nine the default option?

They have fixed the cloning glitch? Good to know, but still annoying to encounter requests like Lv9 Zekrom and Reshiram just to find an international Toxiped. The amount of entries is far too small.

Trading via Global Link or something similar is very high on my wish list. Maybe if we all pass it on Nintendo we will get that with the next generation *crosses finger*.

It will take loads of data saying "you can only try and trade x at level y" for something, let's be honest, not that many players use. Anyone who's playing nuzlocke won't want to. SOme younger players might not want to trade away any of there pokemon for whatever reason. Some younger players might want to trade, but their parents won't let them etc. Honestly I don't use it, not because of level 9 zekrom requests (how does this happen on white 2 anyway? I tried trading my under-levelled psyduck earlier to see what you were going on about and the level range is just: "Any, level 1-50, level 50-100" That is IT!!!

ugh i hate this i know someone said that it would take extra coding and what not but i feel it would be worth it just to stop these requests for mons that can't be obtained and clogging up searches with illegal trade requests

Cereza pretty much summed it up. Not really much to discuss here...
