Pokémon X and Y Discussion

Watching the trailer,I think that,based on the attacks they used,the starters will be a dual type triangle.The Grass starter would be Grass/Dark (Eventually,not necessarily the starter itself. Maybe by the first/second evolution),Fire would be Fire/Psychic,Water would be Water/Fighting.

Grass beats water,but Fighting beats Dark.
Water beats Fire,but Psychic beats Fighting.
Fire Beats Grass,but Dark beats Psychic.

Sorry if this has already been pointed out.Just wanted to throw my two cents in.

Why do people think the moose looks like the deer for princess momoke or w/e its called? It looks nothing like it. Its way to thin and doesnt have enough thick fur

About Fennekin being a Psychic type, I think that attack it used in the trailer might have just been a generic Growl attack, and not actually a psychic attack.

I don't know if this has been bought up all ready (as I pointed out, it's impossible to keep up with this thread) if it has, whoops.

I in all honesty prefer legendary X over legendary Y by loads. More people probably like Y legendary but the reason I prefer X is because of design, and the fact that it could well be the grass/fire type! That is the type I've wanted since Diamond, and looking at grass and fire designs that guy looks like he would fit in both.

Because It Kyurem-W did not get Ice/Fire,Why would X Get Grass/Fire

I think X well be Steel/fighting(or water,or grass)
Y Looks like ghost flying(or Dark/Flying)

I noticed in the video (If this hasn't been brought up) the Protagonist was in the mirror maybe customization for the character? i.e. hats pants shorts maybe even the backpack. Also we actually have another means to transportation and it look like skating......October October

It seems so early because this is the first time a new generation is being released globally at the same date. Usually we'd have to wait 6 months or even longer after the Japanese launch for the localization process before we could get our hands on the game. So in Japan it's been about 3 years, pretty normal... but elsewhere, yes it's quite early!

I do like the look of the rollerskating shoes though. At last, no longer will we need special "running shoes" that 'teach' us how to run - now we can have shoes that teach us how to skate! I'll take skating lessons over running lessons any day.

And what baring does Kyurem-W have on Xdeer being Grass/fire? If Kyurem-B was Ice/Electric then it would be a case if Kyurem-W was not Ice/Fire, but Kyurem-B is Ice/Dragon too! B2 and W2 are both Kyurem's games, so it makes sense that the formes he has in them are the same types as what he would usually have! A pokemon with a typing where one type is super-effective on the other is hardly rare. Dark/Ghost for instance. Steel/Ground. The list goes on. Actually, the aforementioned Ice/Dragon type has Ice super-effective on Dragon!

Edit: Also, why do we need more types? The type-chart right now is not overly unbalanced, the only type that could come in a balance it would be a type weak to ice and not very effective on ice, and super-effective on dragon and steel without screwing anything else up, and a type with those relations only is something I doubt would happen very much.

Yeah It would be cool too see that dude,And yeah we have too meny types as it is,And X Might be better then Y in the long run,because every pokemon that comes out that looks cool is really not all that good.I want too know the types and stats for X And Y

It does when its sprite animates, you can clearly see the flames burning in its butt-generator.

Besides, must fire types tend to be warm colours like red, yellow and orange for obvious reasons. Techno-deer here seems to be primarily blue, with some cyan lighting in its horns. I don't see a fire-type would have such cool colours, if you catch my drift. Personally I don't know what the hell typing it's meant to be for sure, but I'm learning towards Steel, Psychic, or possibly just Normal. It's really too soon to say for sure, but I think it's safe to rule out Fire.

Just the horns give me a fairly fiery look, and like you said, must fire types be red, yellow and orange?

Don't know if it has been mentioned yet, but I for one am surprised that the grass starter isn't a reptile of any kind.

I was definitely surprised by that. I have a feeling its gonna end up as some type prehistoric rodent or other mammal, though. I can't wait til they're revealed.

Ridiculously oversized horns on a deerlike creature with a strange face that appears to be protecting a forest of oversized trees. Hmm.

His antlers are lit with four colors. Yellow, red, cyan, and white. Those make me think of an accompanying electric/fire/ice trio, but the white horn probably indicates the type of X-deer himself. Could be normal type, could be steel type. Hell, it has a brownish tinge that can barely be seen through the bloom. Maybe it's secretly a rock type.

I dunno. They look more like neon lights to me, not everything that shines brightly has to be fire. If I were to make a fire-type elk pokémon, I'd personally make it a lot more visually obvious. Making a pokémon whose primary attributes are heat and flame and then making a cool colour like blue the most prominent visual aspect of it seems like highly counterintuitive design to me.

Likewise, there's really nothing that suggests "grass type" to me besides the fact that it's standing in front of a tree. Every grass type that I can think of off the top of my head has some visibly plantoid visual elements to it, that usually being some kind of foliage growing off of its body. Legendaries are no exception, if you look at Virizion, Shaymin and Celebi.
