I doubt they'll be a new typing; it's seems like after the addition of steel and dark GF is content with their type chart. As of now most types are pretty balanced (other that dragons, but they're supposed to be op).

I'm a huge fan of Yveltal his design brings back the days where legendaries didn't need to be insanely elaborate to see powerful.

The post does mention Saint-Type, as well as Zero Weakness or something along those lines (trying to make my own translation but I suck ass at Kanji). Sooooo...who knows, really. Everything could be possible as this point. Do not Esper is Psychic in japanese, not Saint.

I don't think anyone has said this yet, so I just wanted to say that I really hope the levels at which Pokémon evolve will go down in this generation. I'm not saying that they should alter the levels that Gen V Pokémon evolve at, but at the very least, the new Pokémon should not have to wait till level 50-something to evolve (looking at you Volcarona). It was a real pain in the butt in BW and BW2, and I hope we don't have to deal with it next time around.

They wont add just one an odd number of types would throw things off. Two seems more likely since that gives would create more balance.

Thats interesting but since its all cryptic we cant really draw much else then Saint types. Which sort gives a hint of a Good v Evil theme going on here

List of Good things that will or may happen:

1. DLC is not unlikely now that it is on 3DS
2. Worldwide release suggests to me that the game will have some online social function that would be better with more players. (unless it really is the 9 months thing)
3. New evolutions of old Pokemon coming.
4. They are getting YET ANOTHER chance to allow customizable characters.
5. Streetpass function is guaranteed.
6. If the game is downloadable (probably) you won't have the problem of accidentally meeting someone without your Pokemon game.

Ha, told you about the Light type.

Anyway, IMO the type chart kind of sucks as it is. Dragon, Water and possibly Steel need a nerf while Poison and Grass are comically bad. Also Psychic hasn't ever recovered from the move to Gen II.

It does mention "Zero Weaknesses" or something along those lines, so I'm guessing it won't be neither SE nor weak against anything. The absolutely neutral type.

beat steel
resisted by grass and ice
resist dragon water and fighting
weak to poison

Just me trying to help out weak types and de-buff stronger ones.

While that's a possibility... Wouldn't it make it so the "Saint/anything" combo is pointless. And in that post apparently all those pokes are saint/something.

In other words, the only benefit from dual typing would be the STAB. Your other typing might just be a detriment.

Seems gimmicky if that's the case.

Seems gimmicky if that's the case.

Making it the best mono-attacker type in the game. During matchups, they'd be treated as pure dragon (assuming dragont/saint).

Well, If it does exist, I would like it too have a dragon resist at the very least. It should probably be weak too poison to give that stab a reason to exist, other than being a good defensive typing. Basically, have resists that are uncommon, and have uncommon weaknesses.

I really don't think new types are necessary, we've got seventeen already. I'm kinda hoping that this is bunk, but it's got that disquieting air of authenticity to it. That said, anyone can come up with fairly convincing-sounding bullshit when they put their mind to it. Only time will tell I guess.
