Eh, if the 'Saint' and 'Sound' types ever get released, here's what I'm thinking for resistances and weaknesses.

'Saint'
Resists: Itself, Fighting, Dragon (possibly), Ghost (Maybe)
Weak to: Dark, Poison
SE against: Dark, Dragon (again, possibly), Poison (maaaaaaaybe), Ghost
Resisted by: Normal (maybe), itself, Steel (possibly)

'Sound'
Resists: Flying (possibly, may be weak to), Steel
Weak to: Itself
SE against: Steel, Ground (maybe), Dragon (also maybe)
Resisted by: Flying (Sound is air, but possibly SE against), Normal (maybe), Rock, Water (maybe, may make water OP), Electric
And Bug Buzz will stay Bug type, while all other Sound moves become Sound type

Also, if these types turn out not to exist, Xerneas will be part Normal. You heard it here first.

Hoping they stick with tradition, at least somewhat, for this game. Would be fun to have a full team of first route rodents/birds, starters, trio legendaries, etc, one from each gen.

Do you REALLY want all of these stupid types? Digital, repeat, saint/light, sound, time, space, dna, fake, artificial, sleep, dopey, dock, wood, superfire, and glass?

For &*()('s sake. We've got over 600 pokemon. Now I can see ONE or TWO new types, but they cannot be gimmicky suicidal types. Look at Magic the Gathering, which has made lots of stupid mistakes of late (Tribal...); and you'd have Pokemon pull double tribal because someone has unnatural interest in soundproof? Please.

Here's what I'd like to see speculation about:
1) Online battling. I'd like to see a Legendary tier and a "normal" tier, so you can play with legendary pokemon if you want to on random battles, or you can play with the same pokemon you can use now.
2) in-game multiplayer play. See the latest DQ game for a way to go.
3) Pokemon that need a new evolution and/or moveset to be competitive. Yeah, yeah, Flare Blitz on Flareon.
4) New abilities/2nd hidden abilities.
5) Abilities that need reworking. For example, if Quickfeet ignored the paralysis completely, it'd be slightly more useful. Maybe Illiminate decreases accuracy by 1 stage when it comes into play, making it usable in-battle. Maybe the Charm effect is boosted to allow Cute Charm to be slightly more competitive.

But no, we're going to speculate about the 2nd types for the starters, and what new types could possibly be introduced.

End of the day, though, if this game isn't compatible with GV, I quit. Period.

From a competitive view-point, I can imagine them adding another weather to the game, and all the other weathers will probably get extra features with them. I hope they do something to balance them out though. Also, I think maybe they might change the abilities like Drizzle, Sandstream, etc. to summon the weather for a limited number of turns (e.g. 5 or 8 turns), rather than for an infinite amount.

Also, if they make new types, they need to make quite a lot that resist dragon, and that are super effective against steel. Kind of like how adding Steel and Dark in GSC helped to nerf the over-powered psychic type from RBY.

Most of those sound like different variations of Psychic types anyway. Seriously though, can't think of what other type they would create... they've pretty much used all the elements I can think of, and more.

I don't think anyone has noticed this yet, but the female protagonist of Pokemon X and Y is the first protagonist to have blond hair. Also, this is the first Pokemon game that Game Freak has not used a reptile for the grass starter.

Am I the only one hoping really simple stuff? Like a run toggle, helpful bottom screen (no C-Gear garbage), and better box management? The rest is a bit less of worry for me, GF seems to always make a good number of competitively viable mon every generation.

I'm also completely against a new type(s). The types work fine now, anything new seems like it would be shoehorned in.

Yeah a lot of people noticed about grass starter, but blonde thing hasn't been brought up yet. It'd be really cool if, as speculated about, you could customize your character and even change hair colour. THat'd be rad.

I personally don't care about new typing/type balancing, and I'm not even gonna hope for any huge changes. But I'm hoping harder than I've ever hoped that chespin's final evo is half as badass as some of the fanart out there.
