Smogon's First "Create a Pokemon": Reflections, Opinions, and Closing - Page 9

If we make each pokemon at this rate, then making a dex of ~100 pokemon would take like several years ... by then which hopefully nex gen comes out.
I dunno, I'd prefer this not to aim to make tons and tons of pokemon; maybe a quarterly thing.

EDIT: Ha ha ha people are parading their pokemon ideas. That was the reason I proposed my competition in the first place. I also think that Tentracruel and Snorlax are very good where they are (Lax needs a simple movepool addition to make it good - come on it has like 540 base stat total, IIRC)

Okay, I'm ready to start the next creation, as soon as I have Cooper's permission.

To Eric:

Yeah, I read your stuff. I'm going to take some liberty with the type polls though. I think I'll just take the top ten from last time. The entire 2 polls for typing was really, really poorly done. No offense to Cooper, but I was confused at first. Also, Water only gets in as the final type if its /Fire or /Ghost. I will be probably be hated for this, but there isn't a lot left to do with water that is original.

Onto more stuff. The entire operations thing is not changing. This works, we are just going to streamline it. You want mass submissions and judges go to Serebii or GameFAQs.

Finally, the next poll is basically a soft reset on the process. We go back to the beginning and see what people want, starting with if they want to evolve something or make something new. We are not going to start with some premade fan art. See Cooper for rest.

Ok Hyra. I understand not using fan art. But how will the next poll be made? Will a list off possible new Pokemon and/or new evos of old Pokemon with descriptions, and then people will choose? Or will it be a type poll?

As soon as Cyzir comes back with the pre-evo sprites, I think we can start the next program. Syclar is pretty much guranteed to be the new name, two out of two people suggested 5' 7'' for height, and something like 100-150 lbs. seems reasonable for weight (the thing is half Ice, after all). Also, I know you feel your ability to make executive decisions would be hampered by having partners, but would you be willing to have them? Possible candidates are Lord_Sunday, Doug, GengarCrysis, and eric the espeon. I personally recommend Sunday, but the choice is yours.

I thought we decided on Cyzir's first scratch sprite of Scylant? Its perfect. Just someone needs to shorten the arms. I don't have a link. It was posted in one of the last few polls though.

Oh, I'll have them, I just want to be able to move on like you did without debating it. Honestly, stuff like the New Move thread would have never closed if someone could have debated it. I'm willing to work with all of them. But thread/poll creator is best done as a job for one person.

Once they like 14 pokes and up running on a sever then it won't really matter how long it takes.A new poke popping up every 1 or 2 months will keep everyone interested.

Since AA still hasn't responded to my PM, I feel it's safe to say that we're either waiting on Doug's server, or for someone with PokeSav to hack Syclant into the game, then distribute it to everyone interested in using it.
