Upon reaching the Starfox part, I couldn't help but think "oh man I hope he doesn't mess it up with a lame barrel roll joke" despite how excellent the story had been so far, but perhaps because of that I laughed even harder when the phrase itself was included but the joke was based on Jump's longwindedness rather than anything really pertaining to Starfox.
