This is a variation of the 'counter' set made on smogon. Speed Evs allow you to outspeed all pokemon in OU, including Ninjask, as well as all pokemon with a choice scarf with a speed equal to or less than 308, including Heatran, as well as all base 90 or lower pokemon with a +speed nature holding a choice scarf. It also beats all base 100s with a neutral nature holding a choice scarf. EVs in HP allow it to survive attacks, along with using Recover to aid you're late game sweep. Ice Punch to take out Salamence and the like, as well as Thunderpunch for Gyarados. The type coverage coming out from those 2 attacks alone is staggering. Superpower for an extra kick, as well as a way of killing Blissey. This set also surprises opponents, expecting special attacks coming from this pokemon, and they wouldn't dare bring out Skarmory or Forretress till it's too late. Instead, walls like Latias, which can be Ice Punched and Blissey will come out.

Basicly Like a bolt-beam set but for Physical (Punch-Punch, lol). Im sure it would also work great w/ Choice Band instead of Life Orb. The Evs Help it surpass Ninjasks Speed by just one point and the extra HP cant hurt. The only things that can out speed this Ev set are pokemon with a base speed of 91+ that have a Choice Scarf, But you don't Usually run into that kind of thing anyway.


I really hope you like this set because i really have nothing good at all (I just started my game) and i really want this Deoxys.

Zen Headbutt is there for flinch and Stab attacks.

Drain Punch might seem like an odd choice but will catch Darkari and Dialga off guard and net some needed health ( maybe at a crucuial moment ). Can be replace for Superpower but ruins Sweeping capabilities.

Fire Punch is for Scizor and the other steels ( Metagross ) who run through ubers and to benefit from Groundon's Drought.

Ice Punch is to hit Rayz, Garchomp, Lati@s and any OU dragon playing around in the Uber game.

Really basic actually. 212 speed allows it to get ahead of scarf palkia 100% of the time, and hit it with thunderpunch. zen headbutt would be nice, but it gets poor type coverage, and just does not work out all that well. brick break can hit darkrai (outspeeding all non scarf variants, which are rare due to dark void) and dialga. also gets nice coverage and is faster than any rayquaza even after a dragon dance, and beats any non scarf garchonp. fire punch is for coverage against steel types.
