You know what cry really scares the shit out of me? Even 'till today? Machamps cry when he faints in Pokemon Stadium. Look it up; he like drops to his knees, and is like screaming to the sky (or God/Arceus) like "WHY?!" and it sounds like he's saying 'why' too when he does his cry. It's creepy.

Edit: I found a good link for it on Youtube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UrWwzL4ahAM - You can hear it when it comes into the battle, and when it faints. Listen to it very carefully, because it does sound like it's saying 'why?!'.

It's sort of tragic. The poor Machamp screams to the heavens: "Why? All I wanted to do was make my trainer proud of me. WHY?!?"

That truly shows that Nintendo also knows that Hypno is a creep. That connection just made me shudder. What is Hypno supposed to be based on anyway? The Pied Piper of Hamelin? Bulbapedia calls Hypno the "Dream Eater" Pokemon, meaning it eats the dreams of kids? Is that thing in the picture actually meant to be the Pokemon, Hypno, or just something with a striking resemblance?

I think it's be more like "Why? All I wanted was to punch him in the face four times simultaneously..."

http://community.livejournal.com/pokemon/1575631.html

Now, forewarning, this IS about the anime. And it's sort of long. I do realize this thread is about the games being scary, but i found this to kind of enhance the overall darkness of Pokemon. A lot of you have probably seen this article before, but when I saw it, it blew my mind. It's so dark, and yet it makes so much sense.

Now also on the note of games being scary, anyone ever been to "Glitch City"? As a young boy I did, and it scared me quite a lot. I mean I was like what, 6? So I had no idea what on earth was going on in my game. I dunno if it did this to anyone, but the music while in Glitch City was basically Pokemon cries overlapping each other LOUDLY. And of course I did the worst thing you could have in Glitch City...I SAVED. So I was stuck in Glitch City and had to restart my game, it was a depressing moment as a child =(
After reading that I now hate you to some degree, but anyway 2 things

1.I always knew there was something wrong with Brock o_0

2.Right now I'm dealing with a mixture of laughing my ass off and crying my eyes out(Damn you coffee)

Yeah, I always had a feeling for his creation to be based on some sort of Pied Piper of Hamelin. The picture pretty much seems like that. Also, Bulbapedia says that because in one of the episodes early on in the first Season of Pokemon, those rich people way up on the building use Hypno and Drowzee to fall asleep better (guess sleeping pills are useless when you have Drowzee/Hypno around).

But Hypno's sleep waves are very powerful causing the little kids in the city below to be Hypnotized and somehow swap how they act with random Pokemon; like one boy was an Oddish, and one girl acts like a Magikarp, kind of like their souls swapped bodies.

Other than that episode, I really don't know what Hypno does as I stopped watching the show around the Johto season, and I watch some eps from time to time on CN.

Hypno's Fire Red Pokedex entry is what makes it scary for me:

"It carries a pendulum-like device. There once was an incident in which it took away a child it hypnotized."

Then you have Lostelle:

"Whimper... Sniff... Oh! Please, help!

A wild Pokemon (Hypno) appeared there a little while ago.

It kept scaring. It made Lostelle scared.

I'm too scared to move! But I want to go home...

(!)

Oh! Here it comes again! No! Go away! It's scaring me!

Waaaaaaah! I want my daddy!"

(Insert Hypno's scary ass cry here)

Hypno's still one of my tops, though. It was the first shiny Pokemon I ever caught back in G/S/C...

Go figure, eh?

Wtf is this? Who's 'Lostelle'? Is this from like a manga chapter or an episode way into other Pokemon seasons?

So, let me get this straight, if I obtain a Hypno, I'll never have to concern myself with obtaining little children (for whatever reason...) on my own?

Heh, Lostelle's from Fire Red/Leaf Green. She's the little girl you have to rescue from a wild Hypno in Berry Forest. Probably should've made that clearer, sorry. :/ The long quote is what Lostelle says before the Hypno attacks and the hero has to battle it. Just thought it'd be interesting to share.

Right, right, my bad, it's been so long since I've played those versions. Now I remember, it's from one of those Islands, right? Yeah lol. Wow, I can't believe I forgot that. I really should restart my FireRed version one day, and just play it again.

Part of me really likes Hypno because he has a very nice movepool and stats (especially for NU), but part of me feels strange for using the thing...

Also, I nicknamed my Hypno "DayCareMan".

Anyone remember how Hypno looked in the Pokemon cards? Like early on in the beginning sets? I'd say the best were: Fossil set Hypno, and Team Rocket set Hypno.

I was browsing through a site and did a search for all the Hypno cards released in all the expansion Pokemon card sets (or all the sets that are out atm that is). I found this other Dark Hypno which looks really cool to me, except for it's eyes because it looks like it's trying to Hypnotize you with this kind of face >_< or - so that kind of ruined the 'Darkness' to it's design for the card.

Lol The rest, they just looked stupid as hell. But the first two, from Fossil and Team Rocket, those look totally badass. I personally like the Team Rocket one, because it's like starring at you in the eyes, with those other eyes behind it, and you see it waving it's yo-yo hypnotizing thing.

When I was looking at the picture, for a split second I couldn't look away lol. I was literally just starring at the pic for about 8 seconds until I just kind of snapped out of starring at the pic.

I think this should be in here.

In pokemon mystery duoungen time/darkness their was a drowzee (evles to hypno) that kidnapped this azurill and then you have to go save her.

I think it has a link to the hypno.

Cassidy used Drowzee, and harrison used Hypno on Ash's Snorlax and tried to use Dream Eater On Snorlax, probably a bad idea.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GVNSS...om=PL&index=12
(Hypno is in the end, around 8 minutes)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cVDoi...EF0A6&index=13
(Hypno against Snorlax)

They also had a Hypno with Aya, in Johto, battling a houndour

Hypno is actually one of my favorite psychic pokemon for that very reason. I tend to like creepy-ass pokemon...and what can I say? Hypno takes the cake.

hey guys, i know this is an RBY thread, but i couldn't find any other thread that involved creepy things from the Pokemon games. I was so freaked out by the eerie Radio Station when you tuned it to a certain point at the Ruins of Alph. Here's the music:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x-iLKOyvefE

I first heard it when I was playing at night and the whole house was silent...I was afraid to move..

Staying on the topic of RBY: the Indigo Plateau scared me, along with the creepy music. Lavender Town was all scary. I just rode my Bicycle to keep from hearing the music.

lol has everyone forgotten the episode where hypno and drowzee's hypnosis made all the kids in a town (including seel misty) run away into the forest and act like pokemon? that was pretty strange, especially the part when the children themselves ran away to a quiet place like a forest O_O

Edit: Looks like someone already said this X_X

so Ill just go on to something else, you know Mr. Backlot? what could he be hiding in those doors the maids never let you go through? why so many female maids? why doesn't the guard let you touch the statue in his room? does it contain a secret? think about it..

you can touch the statue late at night when the guard is off duty. there's a rich boy in the far left room (and all you'll get from him is a knowing grin). as for the right door, well hacks have shown that there's nothing there
