okay I spent 6 hours working out the perfect set (no really) and now I have to rethink everything... but I understand it's difficult for you to make everyone happy x.x

Edit: Not complaining though, it won't take me as long to redo everything--to elaborate, with Hidden Power Flying we both do a whole lot of damage to the other very quickly. =)

Edit: Okay, I'm ready with my set. Veteran in Love, PM me when you read this, and we can find a time to battle.

Wow, I really miscalculated... well, in the end I did have a 69.32% chance of winning, but the damage range was high and Reversal took me out. =) Edit: But the strategy I was banking on would have given me just below a 50% chance of winning, /if/ VIL used Counter, but I was counting on how not wasting as much time as me on this, which he didn't. Good game, Veteran in Love! So, do people who lose stay out of the tourney, or how does this ranking system work?

Not that it matters, but I find Hidden Power to be "cheating" in a way, since this tournament is to get people to figure new strategies and everyone is going to rely on Hidden Power instead of actually trying something else :(

Though I'm not in the tourney, I agree that nonstabbed HPs are gay for this type of thing. Look at the hempman vs chaos, as long as swampert has choice band, some spec def and speed, hp fighting will ohko t-tar.

The problem is if you have a blanket "no un-STAB HP" clause, Pokemon like Swellow and Magneton have no chance against Rock and Ground types. It's not like it's something they wouldn't be using in standard.

On a side note, there are a lot of cases where primary STAB would do more than SE HP, like Dodrio on normal types.
