Default Move type frequency - CAP edition (October and November)

Since this is the first time I publish these statistics for CAP, I'll (re)explain what they are about.

The following charts show how much a specific move-type was used in the metagame. For example, in October, for Special Fighting moves, we have:

Focus Blast: 1,53%
Hidden Power: 0,80%
Vacuum Wave: 0,37%
Aura Sphere: 0,37%

We sum the percentages up obtaining that, in total, Special Fighting moves got 3,07% usage.

While apparently of little use, these statistics have a certain relevance. Some types, like Physical Ground, are almost totally centered around a specific move (in this case Earthquake), so their usage is pretty much equal to the usage got by the move itslef. But sometimes, a type (like Special Fire) may have several moves which got notable usage (Flamethrower, Fire Blast, OVerheat, HP Fire and so on), and the move statistics may not make immediately apparent the usage of the Special Fire type in general (which, as you can see below, is pretty high despite the average/low usage got by every single move).

For the sake of relevance, I made 3 discriminations for my choice of what moves considering as influential for the stats:
1) I excluded all moves which got less than 0,05% usage. The reason is oviously that a move with such low usage is hardly relevant to the chart (probably was used only by one or 2 people in a handful of battles). But while some of you may argue that even moves with 0,05% usage or even a bit higher may still be unrelevant, sometimes (especially for physical Normal and Fighting types) when you sum up all the moves with such low usage, you obtain a relevant percentage of usage which could scre over the error margin. The 0,05 mark, in my opinion, is a good compromise of relevance and low error margin.
2) I excluded moves with less than 40 base power (not counting multi-hit moves), regardless of their usage. Moves with such low attacking types are hardly important when you calculate the presence of the type in the metagame. Let me show you an example; imagine that the Special Water moves with more than 0,05% usage would be Surf with, say, 8%, Bubble with 5% and Hydro Pump with 2%, while the Special Fire moves were Flamethrower with 6% and Fire Blast with 5%. If we take these data as they are, we would obtain a total usage of 15% for Special Water attacks and 11% for Special Fire moves. However, even when supereffective, Bubble hits the opponent for a meager 40 base power (less than Cut). An uninformed reader would consider Special Water moves more common, and thus preparing more for them than for Special Fire moves, despite Bubble being absolutely non threatening.
Anyway, this decision brought me to take out Rapid Spin, Knock Off and (lol) Tackle
3) I also took out Weather Ball since, while labeled as a Special Normal move, his type is based on the different weathers, so it does not have any influence on the amount of Special Normal moves used compared to other moves such as Tri Attack

Without further ado, here are the stats for each type:

this is actually pretty interesting; thanks zarator. some odd stuff in here (who's using blaze kick? leaf blade?)

i had never noticed how many physical fighting moves there are. force palm was probably from my revenankh x)

i think you should put weather ball back in for the cap stats. it's really good on stratagem.

Aside from the fact that Weather Ball got very little usage (around 0,2% off the top of my head), where should I put it? Special Normal? Special Rock? Special Water? Special "whatever"?

Exactly. You can't say "Special Rock" without remembering Rozerade.

Oh, and thats kind of funny UD, cause I started using Weatherball Strata about 1 1/2 month ago, about a month before the playtesting. The only problem is if you AREN'T leading with T-Tar, then you've got to NOT send it out before then... which gets problematic if say, a Salamence comes out, and Strata's your best option.
