Hey, I'm new here so no making fun of me. I wasn't sure where to start posting, and since I dabble in these kinds of things:
http://sagaciouschen.com That's the portfolio I made for college applications. I used to be quite the signature photoshopper a few years back, but I got frustrated with that and stopped. Now I do mostly illustrator work, design, and some stuff for my AP class. And, uh, the 1 post count doesn't mean I'm trolling. BTW the smilies on this forum suck. Edit: examples of some of my stuff ![]() ![]() ![]() But, visit my site to see it all. I designed it myself and I'm darned proud of it. Last edited by sagacious; Jan 9th, 2010 at 2:33:34 PM. Fixed. Although, I'd rather people go look at my pieces in my site because it's a piece in itself.

Thanks. I feel like I have some strong pieces but the weak ones are really weak. Thoughts?

Your vectors are your best pieces, but they need more detail. Try making a lot of small shapes instead of one large shape (like with the highlights on the lips, the eyelashes, irises, etc) and some could just use more shading

I'm not digging some of your vector work-- from your website, 02 and 03 look like they were pen tool'd right over a photograph. That's not to say that they don't look good, but to me it doesn't speak very highly of your design skills.
I really enjoy the splash at the bottom of 01-- but what's up with that droplet above? It seems sloppy; I'm sure you could tighten up those curves and remove some points on the perimeter and make it look tons better. The letter "G" in your banner on the top left of your website is missing its descender, which is interfering with the word's readability. This sort of thing can work in some places, but I don't think it works in this case.

I really love this type of graphic design. So much honestly, I can't critique it at all haha, good job.
