Victreebel (Update)

It’s the first time I do this, and I am Spanish, so you may find a lot of orthography problems here.

http://www.smogon.com/dp/pokemon/victreebel

[Overview]

Victreebel has a very good Attack and Special Attack. It can hit hard, and destroy teams that aren't prepared for it. Although it is very slow without Sunny Day, and doesn't have good defenses, Victreebel is a force to be reckoned with in the lower tiers. It's one of the best Sunny Day sweepers available.

[SET]
name: Special Attacker
move 1: SolarBeam
move 2: Weather Ball
move 3: Sleep Powder
move 4: Hidden Power Rock / Hidden Power Ice
item: Life Orb
ability: Chlorophyll
nature: Modest
EVs: 120 HP / 252 SpA / 136 Spe

[SET COMMENTS]

Once you get Sunny Day up, Victreebel becomes a very powerful Sweeper. SolarBeam is your main attack, which causes a lot of damage to Pokémon that don't resist it. Weather Ball is great on Victreebel and with Sunny Day active it becomes a very strong Fire-type move, killing Grass and Ice-type Pokémon. The best option for the last slot is Sleep Powder, because it allows you to incapacitate your counter and set up Sunny Day easily. Hidden Power Ice is there because it kills Dragon-Type Pokémon that are resistant to Weather Ball and SolarBeam, although you won't find a lot of Dragons in NU (maybe Shelgon), so Hidden Power Ice works better in UU, to kill Altaria. In addition to covering the rare Dragon-type Pokémon, Hidden Power Ice covers Flying-type Pokémon too. Hidden Power Rock covers Fire-type Pokémon. You can also use Sludge Bomb in the last slot because of STAB, as it deals some powerful neutral damage to a lot of Pokémon that resist its other attacks.

[ADDITIONAL COMMENTS]

The EV spread lets him outspeed Electrode after setting up Sunny Day. You can also use 152 Evs in Speed to outspeed Choice Scarf Moltres, Adamant Rock Polish Torterra, Choice Scarf Rotom and Choice Scarf Timid Venusaur.

Life Orb gives Victreebel more power. With Life Orb, you will always OHKO Electrode with Solar Beam, and almost always 2HKO Hypno after Stealth Rock damage.

Choice Scarf Typhlosion outspeeds Victreebel and kills it with Eruption or Flamethrower. For that reason, Grumpig, Slowbro, Milotic and Slowking are very good team mates for Victreebel, as they can counter Typhlosion. Grumpig is an ideal counter to Typhlosion due to Thick Fat, which halves damage from Fire-type moves, and a high special defense, allowing Grumpig to take Typhlosion's STAB Eruption and Flamethrower and hit back with STAB Psychic. Milotic is also a good Typhlosion counter, being able to take any of Typhlosion's moves thanks to a Fire resistance and a monstrous base 125 special defense and OHKO back with STAB Surf. Slowking and Slowbro resists Typhlosion attacks very well too, thanks to their defenses and their Fire resistance, and they OHKO Typhlosion with STAB Surf.

[SET]
name: Swords Dancer
move 1: Swords Dance
move 2: Leaf Blade
move 3: Sucker Punch
move 4: Sleep Powder / Leaf Storm
item: Life Orb
ability: Chlorophyll
nature: Adamant / Naughty
EVs: 76 HP / 252 Atk / 180 Spe

[SET COMMENTS]

Swords Dance Victreebel may seem to be outclassed by Leafeon, but that’s not true at all. Sleep Powder and Sucker Punch make Victreebell a different Pokémon. Use Swords Dance, and then proceed to attack. Leaf Blade is your main STAB attack, and it OHKOes a lot of Pokémon that doesn’t resist it after a Swords Dance. Sucker Punch is the strongest priority move in the game (tied with ExtremeSpeed), and it will do some decent damage to Pokémon that doesn’t resist it. The final Slot has a lot of options again. The best is Sleep Powder, as it allows you to set Swords Dance easily. Leaf Storm is a very strong special attack that can surprise your opponent, but Sleep Powder is generally the better option.

[ADDITIONAL COMMENTS]

The EV spread is simple. It maximizes Victreebel attack, and allows it to outrun base 60 Speed opponents. Put everything else into HP.

The item should be Life Orb, as it allows you to be more powerful.

Sunny Day support is very important in all Victreebel sets, as with it up, Victreebel will be much faster.

This set has problems against Steel-type Pokémon, so Dugtrio is a great team mate for Victreebel. With Arena Trap, STAB Earthquake and its great base 120 Speed, Dugtrio counters Pokémon such as Aggron and Registeel.

Arcanine can come in on Victreebel easily with Intimidate, and OHKO it with Flare Blitz. Swellow resists Leaf Blade, and can kill Victreebel with Brave Bird. For that reason, Pokémon like Slowbro and Registeel are good team mates for Victreebel. Slowbro's Defense is actually very good, and it lets him resist Arcanine attacks very well, and hit back with STAB Surf. Registeel is a great counter to Swellow because it is resistant to Swellow's STAB moves (and to Steel Wing) and can hit back with STAB Iron Head.

[SET]
name: Victorybell
move 1: Leaf Blade
move 2: Sucker Punch
move 3: Weather Ball / Hidden Power Fire
move 4: Swords Dance
item: Life Orb
ability: Chlorophyll
nature: Naughty
EVs: 252 Atk / 144 SpA / 112 Spe

[SET COMMENTS]

This Victreebel set can kill a lot of Pokémon that are not prepared for it, especially in OU. Leaf Blade is a great STAB Attack, and after a Swords Dance it OHKOs Milotic, Slowbro and Donphan, and almost always OHKOs Regirock in UU, and in OU it OHKOs Tyranitar, Hippowdon and Swampert and 2HKOs Blissey, defensive Rotom-A and Dusknoir. Sucker Punch destroys Alakazam, Espeon, Mismagius and Rotom in UU, and Gengar and Azelf in OU. It also gets priority, and can help when Sunny Day isn't up. Weather Ball is a good option as it is very powerful with Sunny Day, defeating a lot o Steel and Grass-type Pokémon . In OU, however, Hidden Power Fire is better, as Sandstorm is up in almost all battles due to Tyranitar and Hippowdon. It OHKOs Scizor, Forretress, and Lucario. It is also your best bet against Skarmory.

[ADDITIONAL COMMENTS]

As always, Sunny Day support is very important, Victreebel needs to be fast. A lot of UU Pokémon than can set up Sunny Day have been mentioned in other sets. If you are using Victorybel in OU, use Azelf, Uxie or Cresselia to set up Sunny Day (remember that in OU Tyranitar, Abomasnow and Hippowdon can stop Sunny Day with their abilities.)

The Evs maximize Victreebel Attack, and let it outspeed some Pokémon when Sunny Day is up. Life Orb is again the best choice.

[Team Options]

A lot of Pokémon can OHKO Victreebel, and most Pokémon are quicker than Victreebel. But, if Sunny Day is up, Victreebel outspeeds almost all Pokémon and can put his counters to sleep with Sleep Powder. That is why Sunny Day support is always fantastic. Probopass, Moltres, Meganium, Uxie, and Porygon2 are fantastic choices to use Sunny Day, as they can resist a lot of hits and then use Sunny Day. Moltres can use Sunny Day to sweep or to help its team mates. Meganium is bulky and can use Sunny Day very well. Uxie has fantastic defenses, and it almost always uses Sunny Day. Porygon2 can trace Flash Fire and then kill Arcanine and Houndoom. Porygon2 is also bulky and sets Sunny Day up pretty well.

As in all offensive Pokémon, Stealth Rock and Spikes support is fantastic. Probopass, Cloyster, Uxie, etc. can set Entry Hazards in your opponent team very well. Probopass' defenses lets it resist a lot of attacks and set up Stealth Rock. Uxie is also a great Support Pokémon, since it almost always sets up Stealth Rock, due to its high defenses.

For the Special Sets, taking out Clefable, Chansey, Umbreon and Regice can be very problematic, due to their high Special Defense. For that reason, Fighting-type Pokémon are great team mates for Victreebel. Hariyama, Hitmontop, Hitmonlee and Primeape are examples of Pokémon that cause problems to them, as their STAB Fighting-type moves hurt them a lot.

For the Physical Sets, it is very difficult to take out Leafeon, Muk, Aggron and Torkoal. For that reason, Water-Type Pokémon work well, as they take out Torkoal and Aggron, especially Gastrodon and Quagsire, as they can take out Muk very well with STAB Earthquake. Altaria is fantastic, because it takes out Muk, Aggron and Torkoal with Earthquake after a Dragon Dance, and resists Leafeon attacks.

When facing your best counter, Muk, you can at least put it to sleep and send out one of its counters (Drapion, Steelix, Bastiodon...) You can also set up a stat upper with ease, such as Rhyperior, Houndoom or Altaria in UU, and Crawdaunt, Armaldo or Tropius in NU. Aggron, Rhyperior (Rhydon in NU) and Golem are great team mates for Victreebel, as they kill Flying-type Pokémon, Ice-Types Pokémon and Fire-Type Pokémon with their STAB Rock-type attacks. They can also take out Muk, use Stealth Rock, and boost their Stats thanks to Victreebel Sleep Powder.

Flash Fire Pokémon, such as Arcanine and Houndoom, can come in a Fire-type attack, and proceed to attack.

[Optional Changes]

Victreebel movepool is actually very small. Teeter Dance and Toxic are good support moves. Growth can be used in a Special Sweeper Set. A Support Set, with Knock Off, and Sleep Powder can be used, but it's pretty outclassed by Venusaur. Synthesis is a good recovery move, but with Victreebel’s defenses, it won't ever really see a lot of use. Return, Double Edge and Body Slam are options for the Swords Dance Set. Stun Spore can be used in other sets as well, but it is generally inferior on sweeping sets. Reflect is a good support option, while Encore can be used to annoy other Pokémon. Gastro Acid and Worry Seed can mess with those who rely on their ability and Stockpile is an okay option too. You can try a SubSalac Set too, but it isn’t recommended. Choice Specs is an option, but it is outclassed by Sceptile and Venusaur.

[Counters]

Since Victreebel's defenses are very poor, a strong STAB attack almost always OHKOs or 2HKOs Victreebel. Arcanine, Typhlosion, Pidgeot, Dodrio, Fearow, Swellow, Altaria, Houndoom, Charizard, Magmortar, Hypno, Grumpig, etc, are good counters to Victreebel, because they take minimal damage from Victreebel’s hits and can hit him back with their STAB moves. Chansey and Mantine wall all the Special Attacks that Victreebel use, but Leaf Blade is dangerous for them. Muk is also a great option, as he resists both STAB moves, and can't be poisoned by Sludge Bomb. Also, Sticky Hold negates Knock Off.

In OU, Victorybell is walled by Skarmory, that can use Whirlwind or can OHKO it with Brave Bird, although he must be wary of Hidden Power Fire. Infernape can also be a problem, as he resists Sucker Punch, Leaf Blade and Hidden Power Fire. Dusknoir and Rotom-A can use Will-o-Wisp tu burn Victreebel. Some Choice Scarf users, such as Starmie, can outspeed Victreebel and kill it with their strong attacks. Abomasnow, Tyranitar, and Hippowdon can eliminate Sunny Day, but they won't like Victreebel's Hidden Power Fire (for Abomasnow) and Leaf Blade (for Hippowdon and Tyranitar).

Looks like you know your stuff pretty well, the sets and attacks seem well-thought out. You just need some grammar help...

[ADDITIONAL COMMENTS]

The EV spread lets it outspeed Electrode after setting up Sunny Day. Because of this, this set can work well as a Lead in NU because it is very annoying to other Electrode.

The item choice depends on your personal taste. Life Orb gives Victreebel more power. With Life Orb, you will always OHKO Electrode with Solar Beam, and almost always 2HKO Hypno after Stealth Rock damage. However, Heat Rock is a very good option too, because Sunny Day will last for eight turns, instead of the usual five.

Choice Scarf Typhlosion outspeeds Victreebel and kills it with Eruption or Flamethrower. For that reason, Grumpig, Slowbro, Milotic and Slowking are very good team mates for Victreebel, as they can counter Typhlosion.

Move 4: Sleep Powder / Body Slam / Double-Edge / Leaf Storm

[SET COMMENTS]

Swords Dance Victreebel may seem to be outclassed by Leafeon, but that’s not true at all. Sleep Powder and Sucker Punch make Victreebell a different Pokémon. The best is Sleep Powder, as it allows you to set Swords Dance easily. Body Slam is also a good option, as it can paralyze an incoming Sweeper, and make Victreebel quicker. Double-Edge is very strong and a reliable option too. Leaf Storm is a very strong special attack that would surprise your opponent.

[ADDITIONAL COMMENTS]

The Evs spread is simple. It maximizes Victreebel attack, and it allows it to outrun base 60 Speed opponents. Put everything else into HP.

The Item depends on your team. If you are using a Sunny Day team, use Life Orb, as it allows you to be more powerful. If you’re not, you can use both options. Salac Berry will make Victreebel quicker, and Life Orb will give him more power.

Arcanine can come in Victreebel easily with Intimidate, and OHKO it with Flare Blitz. Swellow resists Leaf Blade, and can kill Victreebel with Brave Bird. For that reason, Pokémon like Slowbro and Registeel are good Team Mates for Victreebel.

[SET]
Name: Choice Specs
Move 1: Leaf Storm
Move 2: Sludge Bomb
Move 3: Hidden Power Ice / Hidden Power Rock
Move 4: Sleep Powder
Item: Choice Specs
Ability: Chlorophyll
Nature: Modest
Evs: 76 HP / 252 SpA / 180 Spe

[SET COMMENTS]

If you don't want to attempt setting up Victreebel, use Choice Specs. Leaf Storm packs plenty of power with boosts from STAB and base 100 Special Attack. Sludge Bomb covers Grass-types and does decent damage to most Fire and Flying-types, too. Hidden Power Ice takes out Altaria, and hurts other Grass/Poisons and most Flying-types a little more than Sludge Bomb. Hidden Power Rock can be used, as it can destroy frail Flying type Pokémon and Fire Type Pokémon. Sleep Powder is fantastic, but don’t use it against Hypno.

[ADDITIONAL COMMENTS]

Victreebel is a good Choice Specs user. Leaf Storm kills a lot of Pokémon. Killing Pokémon such as Rhyperior or Slowbro isn’t something that all Pokémon can do. For that reason, you can use team mates that like having Rhyperior or Slowbro out, such as Houndoom or Typhlosion.

The Evs are the same as before. You do know why Victreebel has this spread, don’t you?
(This whole comment isn't necessary, you should probably just get rid of it.)

[SET]
Name: Support
Move 1: Knock Off
Move 2: Sleep Powder
Move 3: Energy Ball / Stun Spore
Move 4: Sludge Bomb / Stun Spore
Item: Leftovers
Ability: Chlorophyll
Nature: Modest
Evs: 76 HP / 252 SpA / 180 Spe

[SET COMMENTS]

Victreebel can abuse Knock Off to remove the item (no caps) of your opponent. Choiced Pokémon won’t like it. It removes Leftovers too, so it is very annoying. Sleep Powder will puto your opponent to Sleep. Vitreebel can run a Double Powder, but it is not very good, because Victreebel needs its type coverage.
(<- last statement not true, the purpose of this Victreebel is to support, so why NOT have both? This one doesn't need coverage because it doesn't need to sweep.)

[ADDITIONAL COMMENTS]

The EV spread... is always the same, I know, but it is the best thing you can do, as giving Victreebel Evs to its poor Defenses won’t make him sturdier.
(Again, you don't need this)

This set is useful. Victreebel can Attack and Support at the same time.

Aggron is a good team mate for this set, because it likes fighting against Pokémon that don’t have Choice Scarf. With this, after a Rock Polish, Aggron will be quicker than the other Pokémon. Choice Scarf users are good team mates too.

[Team Options]

Sunny Day support is always fantastic. Probopass, Moltres, Meganium, Uxie, and Porygon2 are fantastic choices to use Sunny Day. Groudon’s Drought can get the Sun up, but you aren’t going to use Victreebel in Uber, are you?
(Maybe, but you don't need to mention it here.)

Aggron, Rhyperior (Rhydon in NU) and Golem are great team mates for Victreebel, as they kill Flying type Pokémon, Ice Types Pokémon and Fire Type Pokémon with their STAB Rock type attacks.

Flash Fire Pokémon, such as Arcanine and Houndoom, can come in a Fire type attack, and proceed to attack.

As in all offensive Pokémon, Stealth Rock support is fantastic. Probopass, Uxie, Torkoal, etc can set Entry Hazards in your opponent team very well.

Agility Baton Passers, such as Gorebyss, help Victreebel too.

[Optional Changes]

Victreebel movepool isn’t as good as Lickilicky’s; it is actually very small. (I'm not sure why you specifically mention Licky. If anything, you should be comparing it to other Chlorophyll sweepers and stuff. Also, this doesn't need to be in its own paragraph.)
Teeter Dance and Toxic are good support moves. Growth can be used in a Special Sweeper Set. Synthesis is a good recovery move, but with Victreebel’s defenses, it won't ever really see a lot of use. Return is an option for the Swords Dance Set. Stun Spore can be used in other sets as well, but it is generally inferior on sweeping sets, since Victreebel needs its type coverage. Reflect is a good support option. Encore is very annoying. Gastro Acid and Worry Seed can mess with those who rely on their ability. Stockpile is an option too. Thief is annoying. (Thief = Knock Off, basically, you don't really need to mention this too.) You can try a SubSalac Set too, but it isn’t good at all. Choice Band can be a good option, but Choice Specs is better because of Leaf Storm.

[Counters]

Since his defenses are very poor, a strong STAB attack should always OHKO or 2OHKO Victreebel. Arcanine, Typhlosion, Pidgeot, Dodrio, Fearow, Swellow, Altaria, Houndoom, Charizard, Magmortar, Hypno, Grumpig, etc, are good counters to Victreebel, because they resist Victreebel’s hits and OHKO him with their STAB moves. Muk is also a great option, as he resists both STAB moves, and isn't risking being poisoned by Sludge Bomb, also Sticky Hold negates Knock Off. If you don’t try to kill Victreebel with Geodude, you won’t have many problems. (...what? Did you mean Golem?)

Also, I didn't put this in there, but I'd avoid the use of the word 'kill' if you can. Saying things 'it can KO / counter / deal with so-and-so' tends to sound and look better.

You should also mention that someone else can set up Sunny Day for Victreebel, allowing it to not only forgo holding Heat Rock, but it also has room for Sleep Powder AND Hidden Power or Sludge Bomb.

Quoting over Banryu.
Using the same key as Banryu as well, just to make it easier.

Arcanine, Typhlosion, Pidgeot, Dodrio, Fearow, Swellow, Altaria, Houndoom, Charizard, Magmortar, Hypno, Grumpig, etc, are good counters to Victreebel, because they take minimal damage from (They don't all resist Sludge Bomb, but none take much damage from Victreebel) Victreebel’s hits and can hit him back with their STAB moves. Muk is also a great option, as he resists both STAB moves, and can't be poisoned by Sludge Bomb. Also, Sticky Hold negates Knock Off.

Since you have two full grammar checks I'll just focus on prose.

While your set comments generally show that you understand how the analysis process works, your additional comments seem a bit sparse (most paragraphs are only a sentence or two long), which could be because you're being a bit brief. Take, for instance, your first set's teammates paragraph:

Choice Scarf Typhlosion outspeeds Victreebel and kills it with Eruption or Flamethrower. For that reason, Grumpig, Slowbro, Milotic and Slowking are very good team mates for Victreebel, as they can counterTyphlosion.

While you do list Pokemon who can wall off Scarfed Typhlosion you do not go very in-depth as to why these Pokemon work well with Victreebel. Elaborating on the pros and cons of each teammate not only adds length to the overall analysis but also provides readers with another layer of depth and can help them when they are preparing an entire team and not just picking two Pokemon to match up.

Your Team Options section is also lacking in substance, but this can easily be remedied by using the template created by Blue Kirby, found here. This encompasses just about any kind of teammate Victreebel might need and, combined with the advice I mentioned earlier, make your analysis top-notch.

There are a few other typos or grammar mistakes throughout your analysis that the two above me missed, but it would probably be in your best interest to hold off on getting grammar checks until after you incorporate these suggestions into your analysis (no use correcting "Team Mates," "him/his," and "Item" if they are only going to be edited out later, you know?).

I added some more information to the Team Options part. I also changed the paragraph:

"Choice Scarf Typhlosion outspeeds Victreebel and kills it with Eruption or Flamethrower. For that reason, Grumpig, Slowbro, Milotic and Slowking are very good team mates for Victreebel, as they can counter Typhlosion."

I think Xia meant (correct me if I'm wrong) that you should talk more about Grumpig, Slowbro, and Milotic, because it should tell you why they're ideal counters to Typhlosion.

For example, you could say, "Grumpig is an ideal counter to Typhlosion due to Thick Fat, which halves damage from Fire-type moves, and a high special defense, allowing Grumpig to take Typhlosion's STAB Eruption and hit back with STAB Psychic. Milotic is also a good Typhlosion counter, being able to take any of Typhlosion's moves thanks to a Fire resistance and a monstrous base 125 special defense and OHKO back with STAB Surf."

Something along the lines of that would be good, because it would be helpful to the reader.

Also, in this set
name: Swords Dancer
move 1: Swords Dance
move 2: Leaf Blade
move 3: Sucker Punch
move 4: Sleep Powder / Body Slam / Double-Edge / Leaf Storm
item: Life Orb / Salac Berry
ability: Chlorophyll
nature: Adamant / Naughty
EVs: 76 HP / 252 Atk / 180 Spe

I don't think that you need to have 4 moves slashed in on the last slot. Maybe take away body slam and just mention it in the Set comments because it has a good chance of paralyzing other Pokemon.

Ok, I see how I had to write that. I added that to the post, and added information about Slowking and Slowbro. Thanks for that.

Also, I added this to the Additional Comments of the Support Set:

Knock Off is useless against Muk due to Sticky Hold. But you can put Muk to sleept and change to a reliable Counter. Rhyperior, Aggron, Grumpig or Alakazam can come in Muk then and use Rock Polish (Aggron and Rhyperior) and Calm Mind (Alakazam and Grumpig)

While CHENN and you both have the right idea, it really should be used in more than just that one paragraph. You do the same thing in your Team Options paragraphs that you did in the first version of the paragraph I pointed out. It's a bit more widespread than just that, though; nearly all of your Additional Comments sections mention Pokemon that partner well with Victreebel but then you don't (as I mentioned) go into detail or weigh pros and cons.

I don't mean to sound mean or like I'm forcing you to do something that you don't want to, but our newest on-site analyses carry fairly bulky paragraphs and spell out a lot of the suggestions so newer players can understand, too. Applying this style to your analysis will increase the chances of this writeup making it on-site, trust me.

So if I'm understanding, most of the Pokemon mentioned in additional comments and set comments should all be mentioned more in depth. For example, Grumpig, Slowbro, Milotic, and Slowking are on the right track, but Mazinrobo should also do the same for Registeel, Houndoom, Typhlosion, Aggron, and any other pokemon mentioned as good team-mates or counters to Victreebel in the Team Options?

Yes. A large majority of analyses follow this rule of thumb, describing in full a few of the best teammates for said Pokemon. Lesser seen options, however, can still be presented in a list, but definitely point out why more popular teammates are, well, popular.

This looks a million times more professional! This is a great example of how to write an analysis that is informative for everyone.

Weather Ball is great in Victreebel and with Sunny Day active it becomes a very strong Fire-type move, killing Grass-types and Ice-types Pokémon.
in should be on and It would be a bit better looking if it was " killing Grass and Ice-type Pokemon"

and hurts other Grass/Poisons Pokémon and can hit most Flying-types harder than Sludge Bomb.
Get rid of the s after poison

When facing your best counter, Muk, you can at least put it to sleep and send out one of its counters
Add bold in

Stun Spore can be used in other sets as well, but it is generally inferior on sweeping sets.
This prob just my opinion but on just seems better then in.

isn’t reccomended.
--------
Get rid of the extra c

as they kill Flying-type Pokémon, Ice-Types Pokémon and Fire-Type Pokémon with their STAB Rock-type attacks. They can also take out Muk, use Stealth Rock, and use Rock Polish thanks to Victreebel Sleep Powder.

The s in types after Ice isin't nescessary

I'll edit in any other things i find but it looks good other then those errors

OK. I'm not going to comment on the grammar/punctuation but on the sets themselves.

Let me establish my opinion.
1. Victreebel is slow. 70 base speed means you probably only outspeed defensive Pokemon in UU, as the non-bulky offensive Pokemon all outspeed you, and they will probably pack enough power to OHKO/2HKO Vic. Every common Fire-type outspeeds you... and then you still have to deal with Swellow, Scyther, Raikou etc
2. Victreebel is frail. Look at its defenses. Why would I use it over Venusaur for example for... the Choice Specs set or the Support set? Venusaur can run the same moves, and is both faster and bulker.

So slow and frail = Cannot sweep. (Swords Dance set has problems with Steels, so stress Dugtrio support)
So why should we use Victreebel anyway? 1. Chlorophyll doubles its speed and overcomes the first of its shortcomings, thus Sunny Day should be stressed for every set (I'm going to recommend the deletion of some sets later). 2. Victreebel has great attacking stats, 105 and 100 respectively and thus should be primarily used as a Mixed Attacker, even in the Sun to prevent itself from being outclassed by Tangrowth physically and Exeggutor specially. 3. Victreebel gets Weather Ball, which gets STAB in Sun, which is much more powerful than HP Fire. You need to stress this as no other commonly used Sun abuser gets this. Weather Ball smacks Steels and other Grass Types around, so if you run Weather Ball you probably don't need Sludge Bomb.

Because Victreebel is slow and frail, it shouldn't set up its own Sun, instead, it should rely on other Pokemon to set up Sun for it: Uxie, Persian, Jumpluff, Altaria, Registeel, Regirock etc. See the Sunny Day guide http://www.smogon.com/dp/articles/sunny_day_guide For the first set, I would change it to

name: Special Attacker
move 1: SolarBeam
move 2: Weather Ball
move 3: Sleep Powder
move 4: Hidden Power Rock / Hidden Power Ice / Sunny Day
item: Life Orb / Heat Rock
ability: Chlorophyll
nature: Modest
EVs: 104 HP / 252 SpA / 152 Spe

Remember Weather Ball beats Grass types anyway so you do not need Sludge Bomb. Speed EVs put you at 428 Speed in the Sun instead of 420, allowing you to outspeed every Speed unboosted Pokemon in UU, Modest Scarf Moltres and Rotom, Adamant RP Torterra and Timid Scarf Venusaur. Sleep Powder allows you to put to sleep Fire types, whom you would have trouble with, unless you run Hidden Power Rock. I would advocate Rock over Ice since Altaria is less common than Moltres + Arcanine + Houndoom...

Swords Dance Set - Remove slashes from the 4th moveslot, leaving only Sleep Powder. If you're not running Sleep Powder, you're running an inferior Swords Dance Shiftry who trades a slightly weaker Grass STAB and less chance of a critical hit for STAB Sucker Punch and more speed. Shiftry can also run Low Kick to deal with Steels or Explosion.

Specs Set - Remove. Don't use Specs in Sun especially with Leaf Storm causing you to constantly switch out once they bring in a Grass-type resist. I don't even see Weather Ball anywhere on the set! Out of the sun, Venusaur gets the exact same moves in your moveset and is both bulkier and faster, so why should I use Victreebel anyway? Also Sceptile can potentially outclass it, I trade Sludge Bomb for Focus Blast but Specs Sludge Bomb is begging for Steels to come in. Venuaur and Sceptile get Overgrow too, which is cool.. for them, not Vic.

Support Set - Remove. Venusaur runs the exact same set again, and is both faster and bulkier.

I would advocate ADDING the VICTORYBELL set... where Victreebel can abuse to its fullest its monster attacking stats, and distance itself from its other Sun Abusers. The moveset is Swords Dance/Leaf Blade/Sucker Punch/Weather Ball with Life Orb. The idea is to use it like the Swords Dancer but to Weather Ball Steels and Grass types to death. 224 Special Attack EVs guarantee a 2HKO on the bulkiest Registeel with Leftovers (56% - 65.9%), You deal 75.3% - 89% to the bulkiest Venusaur and deal 88.4% minimum to Sceptile and OHKO all Leafeon and Tangrowth. Steelix is OHKOed as well. 152 Speed is to reach 428 Speed in the Sun (see reasons above) while the rest of the 134 EVs are dumped into Attack. The Victorybell set should be the first set in the analysis, as it allows Victreebel to gain a niche as the Mixed Attacking Sun abuser. Set comments are similar to the Swords Dancer set but leave out mentions of Sleep Powder. Counters for the Victorybell set are Fire-types that aren't too badly affected by Sucker Punch - ToxicStalling Moltres, Intimidate Arcanine... Altaria too is a good counter, resisting Grass and Fire.

Remember to STRESS Sun Support for every set! That's it, I hope I helped!

EDIT: VictoryBell should have a Naughty Nature. I'm not sure about the EVs for VictoryBell. It could run only 64 EVs in Speed instead of 152 to outspeed Swellow, as it'll be Sucker Punching ScarfMoltres, ScarfRotom, and ScarfMagmortar anyway. That would leave it vulnerable to RP Torterra and ScarfLee though. That way, 192 EVs go into Attack.

This is the OU Victorybell Set, obviously Weatherball over HP Fire for UU. Also advantage over other Sun sweepers is having Weather Ball with a Hidden Power, so Hidden Power could go over Swords Dance.

Set: Victorybell

Victrebell: Life Orb
252 Attack, 112 Spe, 144 SpA
(+ Attack, - SpD)
29 HP IVs (=HP digits ending in 9: 299 gives 11 turns > 10 for LO recoil)

Leaf Blade
Sucker Punch
Hidden Power Fire / Weather Ball
Swords Dance / Hidden Power Rock

Sweeps teams, probably the best Attacker of all Chlorophyllers, including Tangrowth. Here is the statistics:

1hkos Steelix after Swords Dance with Leaf Blade: Hidden Power [Fire] does ~ 80% to Skarmary, 1hkos Scizor, Forretress, 2hkos Jirachi, Metagross, and Sucker Punch 1hkos Celebi after a Swords Dance, Swords Dance Sucker Punch 1hkos Rotom-Appliances, Leaf Blade 1hkos Tyranitar, Hidden Power Fire also 1hkos Lucario. Leaf Blade 1hkos Gyarados after a Swords Dance (not including Intimidate). *Say you use Memento Jumpluff after setting up Sunny Day. Victrebell can take 1 Bullet Punch from Scizor after Swords Dance just barely, and the advantage over Tangrowth is having more Speed, allowing it to invest more into both of its offenses. *Tangrowth has to have max Speed to Outspeed the 130 Base Speed Pokemon in Sunny Day (since Hidden Power Fire reduces the Speed IVs for Tangrowth by 1, the full 252 Speed EVs are required to reach 198 or 396 in Sunny Day conditions). Additionally, Victrebel can still sweep without Sunlight with Sucker Punch if necessary.

Hidden Power Ice, I find unnessary since Victrebell does alot of damage to Flygon, and even Gliscor with leaf Blade after a Swords Dance, and can severely dent a Salamence with a Swords Dance boosted Sucker Punch (not factoring in Intimidate). Anyways Victrebell has allowed me to sweep teams with this set, outspeeds anything with less than 407 Speed (including Scarf Rotom Appliances, Scarf Heracross, etc.)

This set is also capable of surprising opponents with Sucker Punch, because alot of People don't even know that Victrebel knows it. (It has helped me secure KOs on Gengars, Alakazams, Azelfs, etc. that think they can finish off Victrebel when the Sunlight wears off)

Here is a Special Sweeper version:

Victreebell: Special
@ Life Orb
252 Speed / 252 SpA
Modest

Weather Ball
Hidden Power Rock
Solar Beam
Sleep Powder

Growth is just asking to get killed, use Sleep Powder for getting rid of a counter, and send in after Sunny Day is set up. Good coverage.

Thanks everybody for answering. I think I'll add Victorybell to the analysis. I've also corrected some grammar errors (thank you, Berserker Lord). And I added this paragraph in the Additional Comments of the Swords Dance set, how is it?:

This set has problems against Steel-type Pokémon, so Dugtrio is a great team mate for Victreebel. With Arena Trap, STAB Earthquake and its great base 120 Speed, Dugtrio counters Pokémon such as Aggron and Registeel.

Sorry I am not coming here these days. I am having a lot of exams and I don't have time to talk about Victreebel. After doing all my exams, I'll come again, and I'll add Victorybell.

Sunny Day sweeper:

The EV spread lets him outspeed Electrode after setting up Sunny Day. Because of this, this set can work well as a Lead in NU because it is very good against Electrode leads.

I don't get this part, cant Electrode just Taunt you, set up Rain Dance and/or blow up ? If it sets up Rain, their rain dance sweepers gets a free switch in (after Trode dies) to more than likely obliterate you with Ice Beam. Even if it doesn't set up Rain it leaves V-Bell in a horrible position, Taunted with its main STAB taking 2 turns to charge thanks to Rain which leaves you as set up fodder.

If Electrode begins with Rain Dance, and I have used Sunny Day, then I will outspeed him and OHKO with SolarBeam. Weather Ball 2OHKOs Electrode during the rain too.

You cant use Sunny Day after being Taunted.

First turn

Go Electrode!
Go V-Bell!

Electrode used Taunt
V-Bell cant use Sunny Day after the Taunt!

Electrode used Rain Dance
V-Bell used Weather Ball!
Electrode took w/e% damage.

Electrode used Explosion.
V-Bell lost 100% of its health/hung on with its sash!

Either way Trode accomplishes its goal and stops sunny day going up and puts Victreebel in a terrible position, as i said, with its main stab taking 2 turns to charge up in Rain and either fainted or at 1hp. Even if you Weather Ball 2 turns in a row and somehow ko Trode, you're still Taunted and Rain is up.

Mmmmmm... If Victreebel begins with Weather Ball, and and Electrode taunts me and the use Rain Dance, then Weather Ball 2OHKOs Electrode bedore its Explosion. After that, Victreebel can switch out, and come back later to set up the Sunny Day, and kill Water-types Pokémon with Solar Beam.

But Taunt, as you say, is a big problem, so I think I'll mention it on the analysis.

Slightly unsure about the viability of Choice Specs, and really uncertain about the support set because I'm 99% sure that Venusaur performs it better. Moving to QC.

QC might want to take a look at adding the "Victorybell" Mixed Attacker set. hhjj has proposed alternative "Victorybell" sets above too. I'm not sure about the EVs for this set.
