I was confused, this is NOT a hyper offense team.
Hello people of Smogon! This is my first RMT so please help me. :D This is a hyper offense team as stated before. I don't really know how to start this so I guess this is my introduction. This party is meant to hit hard and kill fast. Team overview: Details: Edits will be underlined. ![]() Metagross @ Lum Berry Ability: Clear Body EVs: 252 HP/236 Atk/8 Def/12 Spd Adamant nature (+Atk, -SAtk) - Stealth Rock - Earthquake - Bullet Punch - Meteor Mash One of my favourite Pokemon, and my favourite lead. It's pretty bulky so it can take hits to some extent. Purpose to set up SR and kill the other lead. Switched the Def and Spd EVs to outspeed other Metagross. It's job is obviously setting up SR, which it does very well most of the time. It does well against every lead except Roserade and Smeargle. Maybe even Azelf. If it's still alive, Heatran can take fire attacks and Zapdos are immune to Ground. --- ![]() Heatran (M) @ Leftovers Ability: Flash Fire EVs: 4 HP/252 Spd/252 SAtk Timid nature (+Spd, -Atk) - Fire Blast - Earth Power - Substitute - Toxic/Explosion Probably the most used Fire-type in the Metagame. For Fire moves, I switch him in, expect a switch and set up sub or just attack. Great partner for Breloom and Scizor. Breloom covers most of its weaknesses and can set up on it. I use Subtran because nobody expects it and it nets as much kills as my Scarftran did. Wondering if I should switch Toxic with Explosion. Weakness to ground and water can be dealt with by Breloom and Zapdos. Fighting is covered by Zapdos. --- ![]() Zapdos @ Leftovers Ability: Pressure EVs: 248 HP/228 Def/32 Spd Bold nature (+Def, -Atk) - Thunderbolt - Roost - Hidden Power [Grass] - Heat Wave My absolute Scizor counter. Resists every single move besides Pursuit and Night Slash which it can just shake off. Tends to get hit by Earthquakes when roosting. I'm using this instead of Rotom-H because this will also be my wi-fi team. Weakness to Ice is fixed by having Infernape and Heatran on my team. Breloom will resist Stone Edges and Rock Slides. --- ![]() Scizor (M) @ Choice Band Ability: Technician EVs: 248 HP/252 Atk/8 Spd Adamant nature (+Atk, -SAtk) - Bullet Punch - U-turn - Superpower - Pursuit Everybody either hates it or loves it. A great revenge killer that somehow fits in with my team. Fire type moves are resisted by Infernape and raises Heatran's power for Fire moves. --- (I want a better picture of this thing. D:)Breloom (M) @ Toxic Orb Ability: Poison Heal EVs: 236 HP/248 Def/24 Spd Impish nature (+Def, -SAtk) - Substitute - Leech Seed - Focus Punch - Spore My favourite Pokemon. This is like the odd one out in the party. It's actually on the defensive and actually does really well. Ice weakness is covered by Infernape and Heatran. Flying weakness is covered by Zapdos and Heatran. Heatran, Scizor and Metagross are immune to Poison attacks and they resist Psychic moves. --- ![]() Infernape (M) @ Expert Belt Ability: Blaze EVs: 64 HP/192 Spd/252 SAtk Naive nature (+Spd, -SDef) - Close Combat - Flamethrower - Grass Knot - Hidden Power Electric My mixed sweeper. Great for late game when his counters are weakened/dead. I don't really like this flaming monkey so I might want another mixed sweeper. It works great with me though. Ground and water weakness is covered by Zapdos and Breloom. Flying is covered by Zapdos and Heatran. Heatran, Scizor and Metagross are resistant to Psychic moves. --- Issues: -No Rapid Spinner -No method of healing. -Somewhat Electivire weak and also has problems with Empoleon, Flygon, Infernape, Porygon-Z and Yanmega. So that concludes my first RMT. If I'm missing anything, please tell me and I'll try to fix it. Thank you for your input. :D Last edited by [L]; Apr 28th, 2010 at 8:26:09 PM. Reason: Update |

Electric is mainly for dealing with Gyarados.
Since you have Explosion on Meta I take it he won't be around long. Zapdos is really the best thing to go to, but could be knocked out by LO Gyara after a DD. HP Electric is unexpected. It's also better then T-punch. Nasty Plot also demands setup which 'Nape can not usually afford to pull off. HP ELECTRIC |

Dirtiest player on smogon

i think explosion is out dated on lead meta . meteor mash is better because you always have that HIGH POWERED STAB to get out of tricky situations.plus it helps defeat many more leads faster like ttar and azelf.and seed bomb over leech seed aids your lead against swampert. giving you almost superb lead coverage.lum over occa . jusg personal preference though.

i think you misconceptualize the idea of hyper offence
check out this thread http://www.smogon.com/forums/showthread.php?t=61631 you generally want to have sweepers that are mainly setup sweepers. This way, you gain momentum and never stop, being able to go through the opponents pokes with easy. The idea is to have pokemon that are all weak to basically the same thing, therefore when that one threat is out of the way, you are able to sweep with the rest of your team. Like with your team consider turning ape into SD ape, change your leadgross into an agiligross and scizor into SD scizor etc etc
