Is it possible to have a regular smogcast about OU? Like a bi-monthly one or something to cover both the main meta and the recent tourney results?

Could do a show that goes more in depth on Double, and now Triple, Battles. the VGC smogcast touched on it, but was mostly dedicated to the tournament itself. could get some good discussion going on what works in Double/Triple battles and what doesn't.

With black and White starting a new generation of pokemon, how about a

"Beginners Guide to Competitive Battling"

Where a more experienced member of the smogon community can talk about the various aspects of training and competing in a competitive environment, and the host can talk about the newest aspects of the B/W competitive scene and how to train and battle in B/W. It will help people newer to competitive battling to use B/W as a jumping on point, and to help currently competitive battlers to plan how to work with B/W.

I don't know if there is still any real discussion in this thread, but I think I might have a fun idea.

Name: Walshy's Anti-Metagame Pokemon
Description: I noticed that there was a lot of discussion about Azumarill and how he was a good choice of destroying a lot of the new 5th gen pokes that were running through teams (Excedrill, Landlos, Volcorona, Terrakion). I really enjoyed hearing that segment. One pokemon I have been using as a OU wall breaker is Enboar. I switch him in on a scarfed Chandelure, Nitro Charge on the switch to boost Enboar's speed to a decent 342, enough to outspeed most bulky pokes, and proceed to next turn OHKO Jellicent with wild bolt, OHKO Ferrowthorn with Flare Blitz, OHKO Gyarados with head smash or wild bolt, OHKO Skarm after Stealth Rock damage. I dont know, its just an idea, pokemon that screw with the most popular pokemon in the metagame.

I think it would be really cool to have a show devoted to using very underused threats in the current OU meta. Sort of like the Hype Corner but expanded and focused on the lesser-known mons.

Agreeing with this because of the Official Smogon VGC tournament starting, more people getting into the metagame, and it would certainly make a fun Smogcast.

Maybe you could use Smogon's VGC 11 tourney as a comparison to the actual real life one? Like talk about some of the big threats and strategies used by players here in the tourney and how well they carried over irl, stuff like that.

Maybe you could go over the Adv OU metagame, in a nutshell. Considering none of the new peeps know anything about it, and it is in this edition of the smogon tour, I could see this being useful.

Title: The birth of the UU metagame.

Outline: Basically, the show would be split off into 3 parts.

1) Usage Stats

The beginning of the show can start off with talking about the OU usage stats. These things would probably include:

Ferrothorn being the #1 Pokemon
Chandelure making the OU list
Swampert making the OU list
Electivire falling from OU
Some usage rates that were higher/lower than expected
Tornadus ending the OU tier at #53

2) The UU Tier

Next we move onto the UU tier. Here you would probably talk about:

Top threats in the metagame
Underrated threats in the metagame
How weather effects UU. Include how Rain is more often than not scarce
Comment on some of the playstlyes that are popular. (most likely being Sun, Hail, or Stall)

3) The Suspect Voting for UU

Finally, you can talk about the upcoming suspect vote. The main Pokemon to probably talk about here are:

Vulpix
Kyurrem
Victini

Of course, this is just a rough outline. It can be patched, changed, or disregarded however you please.

I think a UU Smogcast would be a great idea. Maybe it should wait until after the first round of suspect testing is over, but I think it would be a interesting listen.

I was just going to say something about this but now I don't have to. If anything you might want to have someone from the Ducks or someone that plays a lot of VGC to join you if not to get more perspectives in their.

Anyway, I was thinking about a 5th Gen UU Podcast. The LC podcast really helped me get into 5th Gen LC, and there's never been a UU Podcast before, so I think this'd be a great time to do it. It's also a fairly new metagame, so I'm sure there are plenty of others who'd appreciate that cast.

This might be a stupid idea, but I'm just throwing this out here; what about a Smogcast covering the 3rd Gen meta, or possibly the 2nd or the 1st? It would be very interesting to listen to considering that not all of us were around when the older metas were new.

Just a random idea I had, but it's not necessarily the most relevant one as of now.

It wouldn't help anyone since no one really plays them now. As a throwback as it would be, the Smog is committed to the current happenings of competitive play. What would they even be able to cover?

I really think you guys should do a DW analysis and if it's a "Metagame" or just to make sure that the game doesn't crash everytime some uses a DW Ability

EDIT: I will not be in the SmogCast for reasons I would like to keep classified, if thats OK
