i think probally these, with Gamageroge as my HM slave and sazando as my flyer. Urumgamosu is my favorite of this gen followed by Zoroark as a close second. I want to use the monster chandelier to crush from the special side. And i love the two dragons especially Sazando, but axe-face is cool too haha. Hopefully i can get all of these(exept urumagosu) pre-elite four. i'll use hihidaruma pre-elite four in place of Urumagosu.

I agree with Lady Gaga, Nattorei has great potential.
Personally I love Shibirudon, it's got levitate and it's a pure electric type so that means no weaknesses! (But it's speed sucks :P)

I'm going to use the following Generation V Pokemon [competitively]:

1. Gochiruzeru

This lead Pokemon is not as bulky as Uxie or as fast as Azelf. One thing that I make her a lead is her ability Frisk, and since she is a Psychic Pokemon, she will have Trick that is used to incapacitate a Pokemon opposing her. [Hope she has Thunder Wave or any attack that can strike paralysis...]

2. Nattorei
3. Shanderaa

These two Pokemon are very great defensively--they cover their weaknesses very well. Super-effective attacks aimed at Nattorei [Fighting and Fire] says hello to Shanderaa, thanks to its immunities. While 4/5 of the super-effective attacks aimed at Shanderaa [Ghost, Dark, Water, and Rock] can be handled by Nattorei, despite the neutralities to Ground attacks.

4. Ononokusu

The only pure fully-evolved Dragon Type in existence. This Pokemon is insane with Dragon Dance [hopefully] under his belt, and I hope this one will push Garchomp to OU because of that. The former duo pairs well with this Pokemon, allowing Dragon-types to be walled by Nattorei and Ice-types by Shanderaa.

5. Shibirudon

Shibirudon is the third Pokemon in the metagame [first being Sableye and Spiritomb] to have no weaknesses at all because of his functional ability--Levitate. He can be considered as a slow, mixed attacker here because of its high Attack and passable Special Attack. He also covers every Pokemon around for its Ground neutrality [or in Shanderaa's case, Ground weakness.]

6. Warubiaru

This Desert Croc Pokemon is monstrous with his high-powered attacks such as Earthquake and Crunch at his disposal. It grants coverage to Shanderaa and Gochiruzeru, two Pokemon that are weak to Ghost- and Dark-types with ease.

----> I know that everyone and their brother is going to be choosing this starter, but come on... I don't want to train a Fire/Fighting starter for the 3rd time in a row, nor do I want something with high Speed and nothing else really. Besides, before I saw the evolutions, I knew I was going to choose this one anyways because the little otter looks like a cute clown =P



----> Evolution of the Zubat wannabe, this thing is so adorable =D and I don't care if its stats suck... It does get a good ability in dream world, Simple, so in one turn after using Calm Mind its SpA and SpD are at +2 each. Not bad...

----> Don't care if everyone else is using this thing lol... Ever since I first saw the crocodile criminal I knew I was going to train it. Never thought that its final evolution would be amazing, but that's just a nice bonus.

----> Seriously... This thing is so adorable! It looks nothing like a Pokémon, but hey its an ice cream cone with 2 cute faces on it lol what's not to like? Its stats are actually not that bad either... Base 110 SpA with STAB Ice beam and pretty decent bulk for a frozen dairy treat too =)


----> Not the best competitively, but the whole totem pole, tribal thing is pretty cool. I think it should have been a Rock/Psychic type instead of just plain Psychic, but I <3 it nonetheless.

My last Pokémon will probably just be an HM slave or this Pokémon:
----> I know its a legendary, but it looks like a prince with its fancy red hair lol. Its almost quite, well I don't really know a word to describe it, but I can picture this thing riding a human in the same way a human would ride a horse.

But here's my picks in any case:
1) Jaroda- The bulky, fast, grassy, smuggy guy has slithered into my team, and my heart as well!
2) Kenhorou- The typical three-stage beginning bird type always has a place in my teams, plus I'd like something a little early in-game, as my other choices probably won't be around until later.
3) Abagohra- Wasn't too sure about this slow sea turtle, until I realized he could really resist fire, and a few members of my team are...not so inclined to receive it. Combine that with a glare that asks if you REALLY wanna try to crack it's shell and it's on Team Sawbones.
4) Ranculus-Or Rankurusu (I've seen it both ways) is the cuuuuuuuutest damn thing ever. Throw in a base 125 SpA and some pretty nifty support moves, and it's a keeper!
5) Chandelar- 0_0 is the face of doom. The ghost/fire attacks are merely the means by which that doom is expressed.
6) Shubarugo- Had alot of trouble with this last slot actually, but then I realized all I have ever wanted was a decent bug-type to call my own. Then this gallant knightbug appeared and with 130 Atk and Steel/Bug typing and changed my world forever!

So yeah, it's kind of an eclectic bunch, being composed of a snooty snake, a pompous pheasant, a tough turtle, a gregarious green-blob, a spooky chandelier, and a boisterous bug. But they'll do. They'll do juuuuuust fine.

My first team will probably consist of:



Daikenki seems like one of the better water-types around, with decent bulk and nice offensive stats. I'm thinking something like SD/Megahorn/Filler/Surf.



Nattorel is bulky and slow, not something I usually go for in-game, but I love it. It still hits plenty hard with Power Whip, Iron Head, filler, filler.



Shandaraa is awesome, hands down. I loved its design and typing before I saw the stats, which are merely an added bonus, IMO. Should do work with Flamethrower/Shadow Ball/filler/Will-o-wisp.



Denchura is awesome, there is nothing else to say. Electric/Bug is a typing I've wanted since Volbeat/Illumise, and I finally get to abuse it with an accurate Thunder + Bug Buzz and high speed. Epic win.



One of my favorites since pre-release, Wargle has always had a place on my team. If Encourage works the way we all hope it does and think it won't, Brave Bird/Superpower is really all I'll need, but of course I'll add Fly and probably Thrash. Shame it evolves so late though.



Sazando is the last addition simply because Dark/Dragon seems like it would round out the team nicely. It is bulky, quick, and has the stats to pull off a mixed set along the lines of Crunch/Draco Meteor/Dragon Pulse/Filler.

I've decided Nattorei (grass/steel) is a sexy beast and a sassy version with curse/gyroball/power whip/explosion is going on all my teams. Gyro ball hits pretty much everyone for the full 150 BP after a curse, power whip takes care of waters, explosion because sometimes you just need to lol.

Burunkeru (Ghost/Water) is really cool and boiling water/recover/ice beam/energy ball will tank anything. Water spout+recover is cool but 5 PP for the main move isn't. energy ball gives me another counter to waters (always have two).

the bug/fire is very very very cool and no SR :D

The dragon/dark with dragon pulse/dark pulse/flamethrower/surf is great

finally the rock/flying with rock slide/eq/uturn/fly

Edit: Well, there went the pictures... Pokemon White was Smuglord, Doryuuzu, Dryad, the Water Ghost, Afro Tauros, and Wargle. Pokemon Black was unicorn otter, Ground/Dark Kremling, the coffin, Nattorei, and the levitating lamprey for sure, but I don't remember the other.

The alternates included Electric Zebra, Denchura, the Psychic ectoplasm Pokemon (though I forgot it couldn't be caught in Black), the deer, and I think Chillachino and the Psychic/Flying that isn't Kokomori. Could be wrong. I don't even know what the other two were.

The White team is pretty set in stone as my favorite designs this gen, but the Black team only has two of my favorite designs and mostly just features Pokemon who I think are pretty good (the deer isn't one of them) and who fit my style, so if any of them don't appear until very late in the game, I might just swap in any of the ones below. Otherwise I'll save them for my English copies or just not use them:

As much as I like training the novelty pokemon, mamanbou is just...shit. It would be on my team if it took after luvdisc a bit and had decent speed and special attack.

That's my team above. Honestly, the 'mons that come up early on in-game appeal to me a lot more than a few 'mons that are actually competitively viable. Maybe it's because I'm a silly person, but Zebraika and Leperasudu just look so appealing to me, among other things.

Okay, hey I really need some help narrowing down my team a bit. There are some pokemon that appear won't be obtainable until late game, at which point having them won't be as much use. I know u can get through the game with just about anything, but I'm curious as to what you think about my options and overall what u prefer.

Okay so these are some that I'm totally sure are in my team:


And now, here are the 4 I'm having trouble with:

These two show up in the game around the same time it looks like, and as far as typing goes they're both weak to water which is my pain concern with this team. Overall I'm leaning toward the croc since Earthquake Spiral makes it pretty useful longterm in battle,

Trust me, I'd go for Shanderaa all the way if it wasn't for the fact I didn't get it until late game. Hihidaruma's speed is the only real factor that beats Shanderaa when you're looking at it from an in-game perspective, but having an early fire type like Hihidaruma is always helpful.

So which one would u personally choose? thanks!

So this is how my team has shaped up:
Maybe it is another Blaziken/Infernape. It also completes the trio of starters a couple friends and I started. And it has a flaming beard, and flaming beards rape. Not to mention Boiling Water!
This is by far may favorite monkey, mostly because the sprite is giving you a thumbs up :D.
Base 140 attack with Guts and Encourage, that is so OP.
Such cool typing and such a cool sprite, I really hope it gets U-Turn.
As soon as they released Gear, I knew that even if it sucked, I was using it. Now that it is actually good, I am so hyped. Also the Flying resist is a must, because half of my team is weak to it, and Flying seems to have come back this generation.
The most legit inanimate object that is a pokemon, (even though the Rotom formes come close) massive Special attack and three great abilities are going to wreck. Flash Fire and Shadow Tag are beast. Probably my favorite pokemon of gen 5 so far.
