5th Gen PRNG Help / Info - RNG Reporter 9.96.5, PPRNG 1.15.0 (Request in first post)

i was doing it at the elite four. will move to nimbasa. even so, they should only move the frame a small amount, so i should still be able to find the frame that i hit.

havent used memory link, but i did use the unova link to gain the key for regice. does that change something?

something i just realised... can this piplup be shiny? i had it set to 'never shiny'.

Edit: nope, the shininess box doesnt change anything.

Edit2: one other thing that bothers me. in the time finder, my desired frame is '55', but when i copy the seed into the standard window and generate a list of frames, my desired frame drops to '53'. cant explain this one, and im not sure which one is correct.

after i changed the unova link settings back, i got the flawless piplup on my third try. that might have something to do with it.

also, can the genesect event be shiny? is it normal wondercard or glan?

Pretty sure Genesect is a normal wondercard.

However, I'm having huge problems with Piplup too. I'm going to try a few more troubleshooting before I try to figure out what's wrong. I've only gotten close to the seed once (was off by two chatot flips, but I wanted to try a seed with less than 70 flips)

There's no way to search exclusively for female seeds with the wonder card option, right? It's a bit of a pain to manually go through each seed generated with the ideal spread to check if it would be female.

I was able to successfully rng a Timid Genesect on my Black 2. Still working on trying to get Imposter Ditto to spawn in Hidden Hollows Giant Chasm using RNGreporter. Haven't been successful at that for three weeks now.

No, there isn't, and I'm not sure why. For now you'll just have to do it by hand, sorry.

I've successfully RNG'd Hidden Hollows. Is there any particular thing you're getting stuck on? What precisely are you doing (with screenshots of RNG Reporter if possible)?

Apparently, taking a Pokemon from the PC advances the IVRNG by 7. Is this true and if so, does it work for only withdraw option or for move also? Must you close the PC and start again for each frame advance?

Only withdraw. But stick to IV frame 1. Trust me, it'll make life a lot easier.

Either you're confusing the IV frame and PID frame, or you're doing something very wrong. Chatot is the only thing you should ever use to advance the frame for egg RNGs.

I usually end up with about 4-6 extra NPC advances by the time I can get the menu open.

Then you want frame 8. All eggs are generated on IV frame 8. And the NPCs are unpredictable. They, however, don't affect the IV frame but rather the PID frame. The usual way to narrow your shifted PID frame would be by picking up the egg upon entering the game, hatching it, and matching the results to the corresponding PID frame. Then, restart the game and do the RNG steps again, only this time, advance the PID frame to your target.

not normally, so far only a handful of Japanese ones have been able to be shiny. Here is a comprehensive list of released events so far, and which ones can be shiny.

I know its nothing super special, but its a pretty awesome success for me!
Took me about a hour tonight to fully recalibrate, and hit my seed, only 1 timer0 troll.

i am rng'ing, i have got my seed for a flawless durant but im doing something wrong and not getting the correct seed, i am using non cgear manipulation but i think i am doing something wrong when it comes to frames, i set the time and date correct i think it is the frame, i got frame 6 so im guseeing i should walk 128steps with 5 pokemon in my party but i tried that to end up with a durant which wasn't the correct seed

Richm88, I would pass on advise that was given to me. Stick to frame 1.
Until we get more practice and a better understanding, it is just alot easier to stick to just frame one, and expand your search for seeds.
Also, did you check what seed you did hit?
if you right click and go generate adjacent seeds in same frame than you can see if you missed the time by comparing the IVS of what you did get, or if it was the wrong timer0

how do i stick to frame one? do i catch a pokemon, enter its iv's and when i search for what i want and it isn't flawless i hav e to redo the whole process until it is fame 1? im guesseing if it is frame 1 then you just use sweetscent on the spot

Change Min Frame 1 Max frome 1000 (by default) to Min frame 1 Max frame 1
then it will give you the seed, then aslong as you calibrated properly, you will see the date and time your ds needs to be set to. Set it a minute before hand and use the Eontimer program to make you that you start your game from your ds menu at the exact time of the seed. then sweet scent for your pokemon and it should have the proper ivs you set out for.

I only did my first successful one a couple hours ago, but I have been trying for a bit each day this week. I have probably re-read http://www.smogon.com/ingame/rng/bw_rng_part2 this page 50 times

ok i kind of understand, i just tried again , i entered in the boldores IV's and it found nothing so ican't even search for a flawless boldore i also start my game at the exact second as you don't need eon timer really if you are not using cgear like me, im obviously doing something wrong, ive spent hours and can't find what i am doing wrong

how do i do that? i have just followed the start of bears video and entered what i need of my initial seed and it is finding zilch yet again
im getting to the point now where it is giving me possible times to catch my flawless pokemon but i start my ds up at the exact date time and exact second minus 1 sec for parameter findings and i am not gettin what i should be, i should get deino and get swoobat. i really am stuck now and could do with help, my starting frame and max results are set to 1 so i do not have to take any steps and just use sweetscent

You appear to have gotten a bit confused about the different RNGs.

There is the IVRNG and the PIDRNG. You are right about how to advance the IVRNG, but you have to bear in mind that walking and turning in an area where pokemon can appear also advances the PIDRNG. You likely don't want such a highly advanced PID frame, which will be causing you problems with the pokemon that appears.

It is not reccommended to go for an IV frame higher than 1. Sticking to an IV frame of 1 makes PIDRNG advancements easier.

When you have found a desirable seed, you should put it into RNG reporter's main window and select "Gen 5 IVs (standard seed)" as your method. You should then confirm that the IVs you want are on frame 1, and then change the method to "Gen 5 PIDRNG". At this point, you should also click the "Calculate Initial PIDRNG Frame" button. This will give you your starting frame for your PID advances.

At this point, you should start attempting to hit your seed. You would be well advised to capture a pokemon without doing any advances first, to check that you hit the correct seed and to check what PIDRNG frame you're starting on. Once you know this, hit your seed again and do the correct number of advances to hit your desired PIDRNG frame.
