one suggestion came to mind earlier this weekend...

one pokemon in RBY i always found pretty hilarious is Onix... the largest pokemon, a huge snake made out of rocks, with a base attack of 45. its a pretty funny idea to me that a Tackle attack from this giant behemoth would be equalled by... (some amusing examples)...

Butterfree, Zubat, Clefairy, Zubat, Pidgey (ignoring STAB for last 3...)

and a Tackle attack from the following would do even more damage than Onix...

Rattata, Squirtle, Ditto, Ekans, Nidoran-M and F, Diglett (incidentally the smallest pokemon in RBY)

of course theres many more examples in other gens, the likes of Wurmple, Skitty, Wooper etc but of course Onix wasnt the biggest pokemon in those gens...

Actually Bummer, I think that Toasters are the predators of Breads, which they turn into Toasts so By preying on Breads the make their pre-evos :) But yeah, I think that Steelicks' Idea is pretty great

Throh and Sawk. Possibly my least favorite Pokemon ever. This is largely because they're just boring designs with obvious clothes.

Since they're probably the only two Pokemon with SUCH obvious pseudo-clothing, I thought about how they'd work with that. Oh yeah, they could flash other Pokemon, just like the creepy perverts they are.

Obviously, neither one learns Flash. So the comic would go along the lines of: Trainer needs a Pokemon to learn Flash, tries to teach it to Throh when he can't find anything else to learn it, Throh exposes himself and everyone else goes blind (whether actual light comes out when he pulls those clothes open is a toss-up).

I experimented with perspective in the first panel, so tell me if it looks off or not. Trying to get her face, or at least her eyes, fitting for each panel was also a bothersome task (especially the last panel), but if you find it out of place or revolting then shout it out.

I think I got mad fo' real the first time I looked over his stats. They really are terrible, so it truly was a good thing he got another stage in G/S.

Don't really know how to portray it though. Not to mention that any strip based on bases (pun not intended) might not be the best as I only can imagine that the duller part of the gamerpool doesn't think too much about it. But that in itself doesn't disqualify it.

This is actually a replacement for today's strip. I accidentally messed up the facts it was based upon (should'a posted it here first!), so I deemed it unfit to be on the site. But I felt compelled to put up something, so the mention of Sawk and Throh in this thread made me think of alternative costumes during the day. Suits came up as a natural choice.

i was thinking along the lines of the pokemon striking a skill tester machine or something haha but you're right, its not the easiest idea to portray. and i guess the base attack would require an explanation for less informed folk too...

If only their in-game sprites were this gangsta I'd consider using them. Awesome alternative to my half-baked idea.

My Grass Knot strip originally had Golurk and Sewaddle in the cast, but since I uhhh butchered it, I drew this image as a small compensation to the one who gave the idea for the strip. Hope my conscience is clean!

There oughta be some potential for a trinity strip here (like with Clefairy and the gems). I shall look into this. Flame Body is a nice idea, but I've sort of used up that option with Hitmonchan's fire punch.

I don't think Tracing Download would be the best idea since Porygon2 already gets Download, and overall I think there needs to be something in the ability's name that lends itself to being depicted as an image. Looking at it again, Run Away, Intimidate, Gluttony, Moody, Simple, Stench and Unaware could all make pretty good strips based on visual jokes alone. :P

The comics are hilarious. I've always laughed at the little quirks in the games. I've read every one. I think the one about the gems has to be my favorite so far.

I see you take some ideas, so I'll throw this out there. In any game with a cycling road, the trainers on it can stop you on a dime just by looking at you. I think that would be a cool premise for a comic (that is, of course, if no one suggested it already and I don't know about it), but let me know what you think.
