Smogcast 9: Black & White OU Round 3- Released!
 That's right, it's the moment you've all been waiting for! The ninth episode of The Smogcast has finally been released! Join your friendly local Ever Grande BIGS for a look at the OU Metagame for round 3, discussing topics such as: - Reuniclus' impact on the metagame - The resurgence of Dragon-types - Weather Wars - The Genies And other topics of general interest! Joining me are JabbaTheGriffin, locopoke, and idiotfrommars, 3 members of The Ever Grande BIGS. This Smogcast is filled with important strategic tips, interesting metagame information, and hilarious moments from our panelists. there's a lot of awesome non-pokemon related material that i'm hoping cim can cut into smogcast: bloopers that includes: a discussion on our first crushes, a difficult decision of what shot glass i should use, and my locopoke impression

I have been using a Calm Reuniclus w/ Flame Orb, T-Wave, Recover and Psychic as a lead. It instantly cripples 1/3 of your opponents team, as they switch to something that gets T-Wave because as you mention they don't see it coming. So then they'll switch out of that and get Flame Orbed. Or Vise Versa.
220 HP/140 Def./150 Sp. D. on EVs.

After a hiatus from Pokemon, I decide to give this a listen in preparation of a return to the competitive scene.
This was first, and possibly last, Smogcast I will listen to. I was expecting some kind of educated discussion about the state of the metagame, point and counter-point type debate. Facts, numbers, theories and ideas. What we have here is actually just opinionated, filled with loaded language. I'm sorry but "Fucking" and "Retarded" are not good ways to get a point across. I feel like this kind of a display detracts from Smogon's reputation, and frankly it makes the people in the podcast sound like buffoons.

there is a lot less language in the other smogcasts, the amount of language in this one is mostly a response to the panelists having to deal with the ridiculous number of things that are overpowered in comparison to the standard metagame in the last generation

(on a serious note though i think the constant strings of "x is fucking retarded" is mostly due to everyone on the panel agreeing. for future smogcasts it'd actually be nice to have a split on the panel so that instead of us just saying thundurus is retarded strong we can actually have people on the other side present points that we can actually refute and argue about. the past 2 smogcasts have honestly been a bit redundant in some areas so i'd actually like to see it either branch out into another metagame, i'm thinking Ubers, or if they want to keep going with ou at least have some strong voices on the non ban-happy side. just my two cents since i'd like to see some actual discussion too)

In the future there's likely to be a lot more room for debate, but until then, we'll keep bringing our unique blend of debate, information, and entertainment. To the rest of you, we hope you'll keep listening, and thanks for being dedicated fans of The Smogcast!

Solid smogcast episode. I know I say this everytime, but I really mean it, this episode of the smogcast was solid. The panelists have excellent synergy with each other, and their explanations as to why they thought drought/drizzle/etc are broken were well thought out. I also really enjoyed the humor. It wasn't forced, and every joke was short and sweet (it looked like the panelists really had some fun making this smogcast)
IFM needed to talk so more, and locopoke randomly dipped halfway through but other than that the smogcast was solid. I give this episode of the smogcast 3 geniebros out of 10. (8.5/10 basically) Edit: Why did you take a hiatus you have 10 posts on this forum. -_-
