Arcanite's Team

Honchkrow (M) President Shinra

Musical theme: Shinra HQ

Nature:
Relaxed: Adds One (1) Rank to Defense; Divides Base Speed by 1.15 and gives a flat 10 point decrease in evasion, effectively adding 10 accuracy (e.g. 85 becomes 95) on an opponent’s attacks.

Type:
Dark: Dark STAB; Immunity to all telepathic and telekinetic attacks, better performance in all darkened and especially twilight conditions. Can use any Dark-type attack regardless of Attraction.
Flying: Flying STAB; immunity to Ground attacks outside extremely odd circumstances even for ground-based flying Pokemon. Enhanced aerial mobility. Superior senses in open air arenas.

Abilities:

  • Insomnia: (Innate) This Pokemon is immune to sleep induced by other Pokemon. It's normal state of sleeplessness makes it take 1 less damage/action from Ghost Curse. If it is put to sleep by a Pokemon with Mold Breaker it will wake up the next action.
  • Super Luck: (Innate) This Pokemon’s natural skill doubles (x2) its critical hit levels above other Pokemon, making its normal moves inflict critical hits 12.5% of the time and its high critical hit moves inflict critical hits 1/3rd of the time.
  • Moxie: (DW) (Innate) This Pokemon gets psyched after it earns a KO on an opposing Pokemon, increasing its attack by one (1) stage. This boost is maintained at the end of each round.(Not yet Active)

The attack drop is maintained at the end of each round. If an opponent switches in a new Pokemon, Intimidate can be activated again.

The forest is shaking with anticipation, the wild pokemon stopping and staring at the determined glares of the 2 battlers, eyeing each other up with readiness. I yawn, Fawkes wagging her tail behind me.

Ohhhh.... I wanted NFEs. My Phanpy wanted to play! Oh well, Go Firion!

All moves available, can take an action to pick any berry avialable. (each berry once)
Fogot this: 2 Recoveries, 5 Chills

"Smiley the Happy Dragon will Surf you to death."

Also because I didn't specify my part of the battle (items, switch, abilities) I'll go with what Simon Says has written down so I'll give Smiley a Rawst Berry, no burn thank you very much.

Anyway, it is now time for WATER MOVE SPAM!!!

SURF - AQUA TAIL - SURF

I am assuming that we have the standard 2 recovers 1 chill thing in effect as this is the standard and it hasn't mentioned that this is going to changed otherwise. No sub for me though, water move SPAM is good enough for me!

Ok Firion, Activate Intimidate (It isn't an action) then begin with a toxic, Dig and stay underground untl further notice.

Round 1: There is a Hipster in all of us

Both trainers glare at each other with sheer determination, the tension heavy on the air. They both throw their pokeballs into the air, bursting in a large flash of light: When the light fades, an Arcanine and a Dragonite both stand across from each other. Fawkes shudders behind me, probably from how uncanny it is for 2 Pokemon that share a species with my own starters are battling before me. I pet the little Eevee soothingly, rubbing her affectionately behind her ear.
"It's gonna be okay, kid."
I climb a tree clumsily, holding the Fawkes carefully in one arm, so that we both might be safe from the onslaught of our all-too-keen battlers.

Battle On!

Round 1 Start!

Firion leaps into action, running straight at Smiley and releasing a Toxic gas, enveloping Smiley, Poisoning him! That's gonna get rough on him later!
Smiley, still seemingly calm, dives into the nearby lake, drawing up a huge Surf to wash over the whole forest! The tree we're standing in stays firm, but Firion was struck by the Tidal Wave.

Shaking it's fur dry, Firion quickly begins to burrow into the dirt, Digging Underground! Smiley, despite this, swinging its mighty tail, drawing on the residue water to form an Aqua Tail! it swings wildly, but does not find its mark.

It would seem that Firion is staying Underground this Action, but that doesn't stop Smiley from drawing up another Surf to wash over the Forest-scape. Oh dear, there goes the neighbourhood...

This has been an interesting Round 1. I do wonder what Arcanite will have to pull out of the bag to make that Dig attack worth more than stalling, and whether Metal Bagon will be able to keep his cool. Either way, let's hope that the next round's a little drier, shall we? This is SimonSays, and I'm tempted to introduce some random weather.
Bring up the stats on screen, Ace!

... Wait, we're in the middle of a forest...

Umm...

Bring it up on the clouds, Ace!

OK, calm down Smiley, I know your part Flying type and respect you for it. Now look on the bright side we noe get a free turn."

Use Dragon Dance to pump up your attack and speed first! Now...we should be faster we'll use Aqua Tail to get some damage on that canine before it gets a sub up. Finally drench the forest with surf! And hopethat there is a crit.

Dragon Dance ~ Aqua Tail ~ Surf

When we last left off, the river had flowed over the forest, no thanks to the over-zealous Smiley, trying to drown the Hipster (read; Underground) Firion. No innocent Pokemon were harmed, but there's gonna be a major clean-up for later. Regardless, let's carry on.

Round 2 Start!
Firion, coming out from under the earth, Digs up, trying to strike up at Smiley! Who is comfortably out of reach, due to the lovely set of wings upon its back. Seeing this easy opportunity to set up, it begins to Dance with all the ferocity and vigor of a Dragon. Everything that follows is going to be hitting hard, I can tell.
Smiley, now the faster of the 2, flies in, drawing on the residual water left on the ground from the previous Surfs and swings it's mighty Aqua Tail, striking Arcanine on the side for great super-effective damage! Firion, usphased, draws on some of its own life's energy to fashion a small Substitute of itself. With that, Firion runs off to hide, leaving the Plushie in his stay.
Smiley, confident in its powerful water-type moves, dives into the pool again to drown everything in the arena again, sending another Surf crashing through the Forest. It doesn't seem to have hit Firion, although his substitute is damaged, but intact. Suddenly, Firion leaps out of a tree, biting down on Smiley with dark-infused fangs with a delight Crunching noise. Om nom nom Dragon.

That's this Round over. Pray, tell there's not many left? Maybe I can still salvage the rest of my afternoon off?

Ace, roll the stats again!

Post Round:
Dragonite: -2HP! Poison Worsens!

"OK now, Poision Will gradualy eat away at you, we must strike sharp and fast."

First Break that sub with a Twister. Then alternate between Aqua Tail and Surf to keep the damage coming.
SUB: If Will-O-Wisp is used then replace the current action with Safeguard and shift all actions to the right, but only once!

Hah, Metal Bagon forgot he gave Dragonite a Lum Berry! Why would we burn him? Oh yeah! To make him waste his energy, as Will-o-wisp takes less energy than safeguard! We can then negate his speed boost by roaring, and stall him out with Toxic damage!

Will-O-Wisp>Roar>Dig Underground, and Stay there!

You changed your actions while I was sleeping... For that, no flavour until later! Ha!

Round 3 Start!

Disclaimer: No significant damage was dealt in the making of this Round. Just a whole lot of stalling.
Firion draws on ghostly powers, releasing a Will-O-Wisp at Smiley, who throws up a protective veil, Safeguarding it from the burning potential of the ghostly flames.
Smiley takes to the offensive, whips up a small Twister to destroy the little Arcanine-Substitute. Firion, angered at Smiley's act of violence against its toy, takes in a huge breath of air, Roaring at Smiley! Wow, what a set of lungs! Smiley, so terrified at the sudden outburst of noise, loses the boost from the Dragon Dance and dropping its Safeguard!
Firion, now faster again, quickly Digs underground, safe from Smiley's Aqua Tail and other assaults!

In round 2, you didn't change dragonite's total HP, so it should have 2x3 (poison) + 10 (crunch) HP less, leaving it on 72

"Smiley, in the prize claiming thread you are going to learn Earthquake."

Anyway I have Roost so I'll use that to regain health. Then I guess that there is a hole that that Arcanine dug so try and use a Hyper Beam right down the hole to hit Arcanine (remember Dragon Type Stab). Use Hyper Beam but if last rounds Hyper Beam failed replace current action with a chill.

Roost - Hyper Beam (down the hole) - Hyper Beam (down the hole)

EDIT: I've been told in IRC that, although it won't do damage to Arcanine, A Surf would have still forced it out, due to the drainage flowing into the Underground. I won't change everything about the previous rounds, but I'm telling you now, because I want to end this Stall game.
As to the Hyper Beam, it's a straight-line blast, whereas it's a Tunnel-Network down there. It wouldn't be able to hit it, because of the turns in the Underground. This was also told to me by SevenDeadlySins, and Objection agreed, so yeah

"Every day I'm su-su-surfing" *party rock athem music starts to play*

Surf then Aqua Tail and finally another Surf. And we can't forgot to make a SUB can't we? If Arcanine uses evasive dig on action 2 or 3 then chill on action 2.

If my sub isn't Good then please allow me to change it before the next round is posted.

Right, stay underground for one more action, then as you are pushed out, you can go for a 25 HP Substitute, followed by a chill!

Smiley looks one last time at it's opponent, it's eyes rolling back in its head and its body falling to the ground.
"I... I didn't leave anything left for another attack..." Smiley has fainted, due to Energy Exhaunstion!

I jump down from my tree, my little Eevee running to the body of the fallen Dragonite, licking it gently on the cheek and making a little Wish for it. I pat Fawkes on the head.
