We've got three different kinds of competition, Standard (lvl100), Junior (un-evolved pokemon), and 50 (lvl50).
Participants must be registered GameFAQs members.
Rules For Standard:
-All pokemon must be level 100.
-No tier 1 pokemon, other than Slaking. This means no Ho-oh, Lugia, Rayquaza, Mewtwo, Kyogre or Groudon.
-No Wobbuffet or Wynaut.
-No Soul Dew.
Rules For Junior:
-All pokemon must be level 100.
-In a pokemon line which include three stages (such as Bulbasaur, Ivysaur, Venusaur), only the first two may be used (Bulbasaur and Ivysaur).
-In a pokemon line which includes two stags (such as Spearow and Fearow), only the first pokemon may be used (Spearow).
-In a pokemon line which includes only one stage, but also includes a baby (such as Jynx and Smoochum), only the baby stage may be used (Smoochum).
-In a pokemon line which includes only one pokemon (Latios), then that pokemon may not be used.
-No Wobbuffet or Wynaut.
-No Scyther, Golbat, or Chansey.
-No Soul Dew (hehe).

The third type of competition held this year is the 50 competition.
-All pokemon must be level 50.
