Tricking was recently given a one-month tourban. This decision was announced shortly after Tricking won his semi-finals match against Bushtush to secure a spot in finals.
While the UU Circuit operates separately from the official tours that are covered under a tourban, we have traditionally carried such bans over to our own official circuit (most recently in the case of Star's tourban preventing him from qualifying for UU Championships). However, after much discussion, we have decided to allow Tricking to continue in this tour. After reviewing the offense in question, the timing of the ban and more, we determined that this was the fairest possible decision. Tricking's offense, which occurred more than three months ago, does not call any of his UU circuit matches into question, and we have decided to treat this tourban as participatory: it will prevent him from entering any new official UU circuit tours until it expires, but will not force him to forfeit those he is currently participating in.
Decision: Tricking will be permitted to play in the UU Championships finals.
Both players have had fantastic runs this year. Tricking started the year off strong with one of the best Adv UU records in UUPL. He later proved he was just as skilled at current-gen UU by landing in the quarterfinals of the largest UU tour in the history of Smogon, the 2017 UU Open. Christo also had a strong UUPL and made playoffs of two of the biggest current-gen UU tours, the UU Ladder Tour and UU Majors II. Both players have duked it out against the other top performers in the tier to get here. Who will take home the title of UU Champion? Stay tuned!
