Research Inside the Gen I Mew Glitch (you've heard about it, but ever wondered WHY it works?)

As you probably know, I'm into the weird side of Pokemon and I like to investigate about old generation glitches and obscure mechanics. So the other day I was browsing information about the Mew glitch just for curiosity and it baffled me that despite being one of the most infamous glitches I couldn't find any solid information about exactly why it works, just pretty much the same step by step tutorials over and over.

So I thought, why not? Feel free to consider this as a part two of my "MissingNo explained" article, where I will also be analyzing the game's code to find out the hidden details of one of the most infamous Pokemon glitches!

I had admittedly never tried the glitch before this so I picked up this guide as a reference: https://www.ocf.berkeley.edu/~jdonald/pokemon/mewglitch.html
There are other alternatives on how to perform it (for example, a different long-range trainer), but the principle and the explanation is the same.

A more simplified step by step guide of the Mew Glitch can also be found in Smogon: http://www.smogon.com/ingame/misc/rby_tips#mew

In the video below, I divided the whole Mew Glitch in 5 steps and explained each one separately. Although I'm aware that some information is inevitably bit too technical (RAM addresses and such), I tried my best to make it as easy to understand for everyone. So that's all, and hopefully you enjoy it!

Awesome video. I long while back I tried to get into it myself and I thought I understood a lot, apart from a few unanswered questions. This video explains pretty much everything I didn't know yet.

I'll consider it, since I'd only have to copy paste the texts from the video file. I made a video instead in order to be able to actually perform the glitch in the game to show it along with the explanations. But maybe just three screens per step would work too since it's not a complex or very long glitch to perform.
