Cryptic Crossword Puzzle

Across:

1. DIG: Simple double meaning: to appreciate something (to dig it) and to move the earth (to dig).
2. CHATTER: 'Confusion crowns' gives first letter of Confusion (C), and places it in front of HATTER for CHATTER. 'Confusion' is also a literal hint.
3. DUGTRIO: Odd letters of DRUDGE, giving DUG, plus TRIO for 'three'.
4. STATIC: Almost literal meaning. To remain still is to remain static.
5. SQUIRTLE: An anagram of QUILTERS, hinted at by the word 'confused'. A literal clue is 'starting', as in a 'starter' Pokemon.
6. PLATE: Another literal meaning. A plate is literally a dish; linked to Arceus as 'fit for a god'.
7. FLAREBOOST: To give an evil team a helping hand is to give Team Flare a boost?
8. HOLDBACK: A Spoonerism of BOLD HACK. Literal hint in 'resists'.
9. METEORITE: 'First' letters of 'extraterrestrial object': EO. Combine this with a mangled TERMITE to give METEORITE, itself an extraterrestrial object.

Down:

1. CHANDELURE: CURE (Heal) placed physically around HANDEL (famous composer). 'Burn' used here as a literal clue and also to disguise the word 'heal'.
2. DRAGONASCENT: To prolong a fragrance is to DRAG ON A SCENT? 'Say' indicates a sound-based (homophone) clue, while 'Move' is a literal hint.
3. DESTINYBOND: 'Strange' hints at an anagram. In this case, BODY INTENDS anagrams to DESTINY BOND, literally hinted at in 'revenge'.
4. COLORCHANGE: My favourite clue. Another sound clue; in this case, 'hew altar' sounds like 'hue alter', or in other words, COLOR CHANGE. Another literal hint in 'uniquely', since it is a signature ability.
5. PRESENT: Almost literal meaning. To be 'previously delivered' is to be PRE-SENT.
6. ICYWIND: When air currents are visible to me, 'I see wind'. 'Slowly' is a literal clue describing the move's effects.
