Welcome to Smogon! Take a moment to read the Introduction to Smogon for a run-down on everything Smogon, and make sure you take some time to read the global rules.
I realise this combination was always going to be a 50-50 call but "ref discretion" means your discretion, not "the decision may change based on who you happen to be talking on IRC to at the time." I'm sending out Armaldo but not without having this match soured for me a little bit.

I realise that this (along with every match I've reffed lately) has shot my credibility all to hell. However, after the second discussion, I realised that I had basically no argument against disallowing it. I apologise, and you're not the only one soured.

Shakespeare the Gallade is Alchemator's last stand against Smash and Bones, but is he capable of pulling it off? He begins by attempting to burn the fossil-bug with a ghostly flame, but it's blocked by a green shield. His second attempt strikes true, and suddenly Bones' offensive prowess is badly weakened. His following attacks glance off Shakespeare for relatively little damage, but Shakespeare's Rock Slide isn't much better... This one could take a while folks.

Yeah, Alch is right. They're the same sub, with the same conditions and same outcomes. I find it acceptable either way.

Bones starts to show off his swag for his trainer, not that it stops
Shakespeare from simply kicking him in the face. The bard does, however, hurt himself from how confused this display of modern swagger has made him, giving Bones the opportunity to spin away the deadly Stealth Rock from his side of the field - Smash is back in the game! However, Shakespeare is over his confusion, and simply smacks Bones with a barrage of rocks, causing him to flinch in surprise!
