It's not canon!!!! In Pokemon Yellow, Green evolves his Eevee according to the number of times you beat him! So it should be a Jolteon, Vaporeon or Flareon, not an Eevee!!! Also, in the anime, Gary has an Umbreon. Either way, there's no way he wouldn't evolve it!
