"Alright, let's hope for a good game! Utilitystrike, you're up first! Take an Exp. Share so we can get you up to speed that much quicker!"

Utilitystrike struggles to deal some damage to the now-taunted Big Ben, but the Bronzor is not only resilient, but is able to strike back, putting the Breezi closer and closer to the edge! Can Flamestrike find a way to outdamage Texas, or will Texas gain the 3-2 advantage?

With some tricky tactics and a combo, Utilitystrike not only survives this round, but deals a heavy blow to Big Ben as well! Furthermore, Flamestrike has now set up all three layers of Spikes, and since no one knows Rapid Spin or Defog, they're here to stay! However, Utilitystrike is having trouble standing up, is incredibly exhausted, and has to move first next round! Flamestrike may have a bit of a long-run advantage, but in the short-run, Texas is holding on to a very strong lead!

Big Ben used Substitute! (12 EN, 15 HP)

Action 3
Rapid Spin -> Big Ben (10 EN)
RNG roll (to crit) 5822 = no crit
(4+(1-3)1.5)(.67) = .67 ~ 1 DMG
The sub took the hit!
Utilitystrike fainted!

Confusion -> Utilitystrike (2 EN)
But there was no target...

In a bit of a confusing move, Texas orders Big Ben to spin around and chuck Stealth Rocks at the cooling down Utilitystrike... only for them to be immediately spun away. Big Ben then sets up a Substitute that Utilitystrike exhausts himself trying to destroy! Why Texas didn't just put up the sub a1 and confusion a2? I will never know.

Post-Round stats:

Utilitystrike @ Exp. Share
HP: KO
EN: -4
1/2/4/2/85

Big Ben @ Exp. Share
HP: 14

2/3/1/3/20/ -10% Eva
Substitute (14 HP)
Spikes (3 layers)

Brandon finally recalled Utilitystrike. "You did great," he said to the Pokeball holding his Breezi, before replacing it with a new Pokeball. "Alright then, Paleostrike, you're up next! Take an Exp. Share and let's go!"

I'm assuming Substitutes break if they have 0.5 HP or less, just like Pokemon faint if they do. If not I'm going to be very, very annoyed.

"Paleostrike, let's make sure he doesn't get any attacks off!"

Mud Shot -> Mud Shot -> Fire Blast
If he has a sub up A2 use Power Gem A2 and Mud Shot A3 (and cry)

Pre-Round stats:

Paleostrike @ Exp. Share
HP: 90
EN: 100
1/2/3/2/104/ +30% Acc

Big Ben @ Exp. Share
HP: 14
EN: 28
2/3/1/3/20/ -10% Eva
Substitute (14 HP)
Spikes (3 layers)

Action 1
Mud Shot -> Big Ben (5 EN)
RNG roll (to crit) 2149 = no crit
(9+(3-3)1.5)(1.5) = 13.5 DMG
Sub faded!

Big Ben used Gravity! (9 EN)
Gravity intensified!

Action 2
Mud Shot -> Big Ben (9 EN)
RNG roll (to crit) 8551 = no crit
(9+(3-3)1.5)(1.5) = 13.5 DMG
Big Ben fainted!

As soon as Paleostrike hits the field, he begins the offensive, blasting away Big Ben's substitute with a Mud Shot while Big Ben brings Paleostrike down to the ground by intensifying the Gravity! Big Ben prepares to attack, but Paleostrike knocks him out with another Mud Shot first! The score is now tied at 2-2, but with the Spikes dealing a massive blow to Texas' next Pokemon, its safe to say that Flame now holds an advantage!

Post-Round stats:

"Great, one down and two to go! Now let's get started on Swinub!"

Fire Blast -> Heat Wave -> Fire Blast
If he uses Earthquake and you are faster use Disable the following action and push actions back
If he uses Dig and you are slower use Stealth Rock the first time and Acupressure each other time, pushing back each time

I thought he would use Disable and it would just fail but yeah I guess that works too

In a nutshell, Spikes did, in fact, give Flame a huge advantage.
